  1. Good grief - would it kill you to use a few periods?????
  2. Both my 06 Fusion and 08 Edge are like this. I think they're set that way on purpose from the factory. I've raised both and it makes a world of difference.
  3. I think the issue is that all new cars are like this due to federal guidelines so it wouldn't matter which brand or model you buy - they're all similar. Most people probably assume they can adjust it later or get used to it. I'm ok with it but it does bother me a bit on long trips.
  4. The only reason we got airbags was because people weren't wearing seatbelts. That's why they were so powerful originally - they had to fire before the unbelted passenger hit the dash/steering wheel.
  5. Nope. But what does this have to do with heater cores??
  6. The amount of slack is just a function of how the parking pawl was designed - some (like the Edge) have a lot more than others.
  7. I think it looks fine the way it is, but I assumed you didn't want to hear that.
  8. Yes it's normal. You should always use the parking brake when parking on an incline (I use mine 100% of the time no matter what). The transmission is not designed to hold the vehicle on an incline. It uses a pawl similar to sticking a broomstick into a bicycle wheel which explains why it can be hard to get the transmission out of park sometimes. If you engage the parking brake before letting off the regular brake or even before shifting into park it will work much better and be much safer.
  9. Sounds like known defective parts that are guaranteed to fail - but they don't know which vehicles have them.
  10. No, no, no. A TSB is nothing more than a note to the service technician to help them diagnose problems more quickly. It has NOTHING to do with the warranty. If you're out of the warranty period then you pay - period. A recall is another story but that's not the same as a TSB. And that's the same for all mfrs not just Ford.
  11. It should also come with the 300+ hp 3.7L just announced for the mustang. That is supposed to be the standard Lincoln V6 going forward and should replace the current 3.5L and 3.7L engines.
  12. It is definitely a concern because the wheel speeds will be different fooling the PCM into thinking that one or more wheels are slipping and engaging TC and/or redistributing torque. The question is whether 3/32 of an inch is enough of a difference to cause that problem or not. I think not but I'm no expert. And I had the same question - what was wrong with the spare?
  13. Supposedly the peanut camo makes it harder for the eye to discern styling details. But I agree with you for once - I think it just screams "Look at me - I'm a pre-production prototype!!!!". Probably a little of both.
  14. I believe there were isolated cases of plug failures in certain circumstances - probably rare. The patch eliminates those rare circumstances and it also lets the tire shop check the condition of the tire from the inside. I think it's just a case of having a slightly better option that was not previously available.
  15. You're kidding right? You just roll the tire until you can access the hole, then push the plug in and cut it off. How could it be simpler?
  16. Should be easy enough to test. Next time it happens, jack up and test each rear wheel and see if it turns freely. If not then the brake is stuck. And just FYI - these transmissions don't learn your shift habits. It only learns how your transmission responds to each shift request and it constantly adjusts the shift pressures to maintain optimal shift times. How you drive doesn't matter except that it determines which shifts (from/to gear, rpm and throttle) get learned and which don't.
  17. Rear view mirror in the early models. I think I read somewhere that they moved it closer to the driver but not sure.
  18. All you need is an add-on FM transceiver to take the audio and broadcast it on an unused FM frequency. You don't need hard wires. That said - I don't know why you'd want to run the audio through the whole car.
  19. Notice that wwest drives one of those Fwd/Awd deathtraps that he thinks are coffins on wheels? And uses summer tires in winter. Ignore...ignore...ignore....
  20. In Atlanta Kauffman tire fixes flats for free - no questions asked and no sales pitch. It works - I bought 2 sets of tires there after that.
  21. Give it up Waldo. wwest doesn't understand the laws of physics when it comes to cars and drive wheels nor is he going to be convinced otherwise. Just ignore him.
  22. Nope. Never did. They owned 33.4% of Mazda at one time but now it's down to around 10%. But they still work together.
