Only the 20's had problems from what I remember, not the 18's.

Not if you want to use the steering wheel controls. Otherwise you can just get a FM transmitter or use the audio input jack if your edge has one and control the ipod manually.

Or this. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=82 Or this one: http://www.caranddriver.com/features/06q4/a_tire_for_all_seasons_-tech_stuff Surely you don't think Edmunds or Car and Driver have some hidden marketing agenda.

It's probably just a paint sealer of some type. It works like wax but is supposed to last longer. It's no different than what you can buy from autozone and do it yourself. It won't last years - maybe months if you're lucky. There is no such thing as leather protection - just cleaner and conditioner which you can apply yourself every few months. Again - available at your local auto parts store. Scotchguarding is good but it wears off in 6 months or so because it's water based. But it's cheap and you can buy it yourself at the grocery store. If they're using a silicon based product then that will last for 3 - 5 years but that wouldn't be called Scotchguard and it would come with a written warranty.

Willard also believes that FWD based AWD systems are inherently unsafe and should be outlawed. Apparently the laws of physics are different in his universe.....

I would try a different dealer. It sounds like a bad master cylinder or they didn't bleed the system correctly.

I can assure you that wasn't due to the paint protection.

Sometimes the filament can be broken but the pieces are still together and it will go on and off intermittently until it finally breaks all the way. -
My feedback is - don't worry about it. Just use a socket and remove the drain plug. It's not hard, it won't break or accidentally open and it's easy to get to. It's a little messy when you first remove it, but is it really bad enough to worry about?

Seems less complicated to me. Also not sure how accurate the IAT is relative to the outside ambient air temp.

And your MHO would be absolutely totally wrong in cold climates. Winter tires were developed for a reason and they work well. When summer tires get cold they're hard as a brick and that is WAY more dangerous.

I agree on the paint and leather protection, but the electronic rust protection is legit, although I don't think it costs nearly that much nor do I think it's really necessary. It generates a mild electric current that prevents or greatly inhibits rusting. Boats have been using them for years.

Not on Fords - at least not on my previous vehicles. It's actually a separate sensor in the front grille area.

5x7 and 6x8 are interchangeable (in Ford vehicles at least) so they're typically listed as both. -
The orange based degreasers also work well (and smell great!).

Bulbs are usually not covered under warranty unless they were affected by some other problem. -
They added power liftgate and the exterior handle for 2008, but I don't remember if there was any change to the interior such as a pull strap. A pull strap would be easy to add unless this is just a convenient way to justify wanting a new one. Power liftgate would be highly recommended.

But you said it as if you were surprised that Sirius didn't work inside the parking garage. That was the amusing part. Sorry!

What we're saying is that if you change the oil yourself and you do it correctly with the correct oil and filter per the recommended intervals - you won't have a lubrication failure so it won't matter whether you save receipts or not.
-
Foreigner rocks, so that can't be it.

Maybe it just didn't like the song that was playing. If it was Britney Spears then that might explain it!

You need to fix your sarcasm detector. Apparently you don't understand the difference between Radio signals and Satellite signals. There is a reason you see satellite dishes on the outside of houses and not on the inside.
-
There are a lot of scenarios: 1 - I bought the oil and filter but used it in a different vehicle 2 - I got the receipt from a friend (it wasn't actually mine) 3 - I bought it but returned it Now if the dealer had service records showing that regular service had been done by the dealer on that vehicle then that's a different story. That would indicate that the dealer did something wrong, not the customer. If something broke in the engine (like the oil pump) and that caused the problem then that will be easily diagnosed and there won't be any questions. If the internals are all sludged up then that is also pretty cut and dried. If you use the proper oil and filter and change intervals the chances are slim that you'll have a lubrication related failure and if you do there will be an obvious cause such as a bad oil pump, leak, etc.

You mean satellite signals can't penetrate several feet of solid concrete? :shades:

It won't hurt, but from what I've heard if there is a mechanical problem that appears to be caused by improper lubrication it won't matter whether you have receipts or not. If you have service records showing the dealer did the service then that might count for something. Receipts only prove purchase, not installation. And it's relatively easy to identify improper lubrication inside the engine. Outside of some known manufacturing defect or defective oil pump, improper lubrication is a customer problem.
