  1. No problem - just go to every state in the U.S. and convince them to repeal the automotive franchise laws that have been on the books since the 50s and 60s. Of course they're antiquated, but until they change the law there is nothing Ford can do about it. Every time they try to do something they get slapped with a lawsuit. And they usually don't win.
  2. But you don't order vehicles from Ford. In fact it would be illegal for Ford to allow you to order a vehicle from them due to state franchise laws. The dealer orders the vehicle and it's up to the dealer how and when they put in the order, how much allocation they have, what priority they assign, etc. - all out of Ford's hands. Additionally, you ordered a vehicle that has not even begun shipping yet and because of Ford's commitment to quality even they don't know when that will start. Hopefully any day now but nobody knows. It is totally dependent on what problems occurred and when and whether your vehicle was affected. Ford has addressed some of these problems with retail order verification where they build pre-sold vehicles first and they don't count against the dealer's allocation. But you really have to rely on the dealer. They usually have far more info available to them than they're willing to share with customers (or in some cases they're just ignorant).
  3. Try swapping the tires around. Could just be a bad tire.
  4. Which part? That she gets 3 mpg over EPA? Sure - that's easy to do depending on location, driving style and fuel type. Is it due to full synthetic compared to Ford's synthetic blend? Very doubtful. I'm sure she'd get the same fuel economy on Motorcraft synthetic blend.
  5. Could be the evap cannister. I'm sure they can test it by pressurizing the fuel system.
  6. If the engine is tuned for premium you will get more power and usually better fuel mileage on premium because the pcm has to retard the timing to prevent knock when using regular. But this is exactly the same situation with the 3.5L Ecoboost engine that's been out for awhile so I don't expect it to be any different.
  7. That doesn't mean it requires premium. It means those power figures were obtained using Premium. I'm sure it will run just fine on regular just like the 3.5L EB.
  8. There is no "hard" info - not even Ford knows when they'll start shipping because it depends on how many problems are found in the early models. Best guess right now is they'll start showing up first week or two of September but that's not guaranteed.
  9. I call BS on this one. I'd get a second opinion from another dealer.
  10. Like I stated earlier - take off the spoiler and door handles and your local body shop will probably paint them to match for $200 in just an hour or two.
  11. The OP isn't screaming "this is a safety hazard" and there really isn't an option here - if you lock the rear windows then tha passenger window won't operate at all. Here is a better design - integrate the rear window locks with the child safety door locks.
  12. He doesn't have any valid points, just lunatic rants. He hates ecoboost technology, thinks it's safer to use summer tires in the dead of winter and thinks a FWD based AWD vehicle is a patently unsafe deathtrap. Just ignore him.
  13. Makes perfect sense to me. I think they added auto up/down to the passenger side (at least on the higher trims) but I don't know any manufacturer that offers that feature. (probably not the response you were expecting)
  14. Wouldn't it be easier to mount a tow hook instead of a complete hitch? Just a thought.......
  15. Does the SRX have a door keypad, Sync or MyTouch? That would decide it for me.
  16. Did you mean you were looking at a Limited in stock that didn't have the BAMR? It's certainly available on the Limited.
  17. No way for us to tell. Go price a similar 2010 model new (use dealer invoice) and then price some similar used models in your area.
  18. Sounds like darwin award candidates to me. But yeah, I get it.
  19. You don't switch them - you paint them or get them painted. If you remove them yourself and take them to the body shop they'll probably paint them for less than $200.
  20. I still don't understand why you need to turn cruise control ON every time. Is there ever a situation where you DON'T want the cruise on and available?
