  1. Sure - start paying for site access. Seriously - why do you think this forum is free?
  2. No - that only works for MP3s (digital), not audio cds. On the other questions you'll have to read the manual.
  3. Please don't quote huge pictures when replying. It's not necessary.
  4. The only time I recommend ESPs is when someone is on fixed or low income and simply can't afford to pay for a large repair out of pocket. In that case they should buy the ESP when they buy the car so that it only costs a few dollars per month. Otherwise, if you can afford to buy a $1500 warranty out of pocket then you can probably afford to pay for a repair. If you want to gamble that's fine but as for the peace of mind theory - I get a lot more peace of mind knowing I've saved over $9K by never buying one on my last 6 vehicles. Even if I had to replace a transmission tomorrow, I'm WAY ahead.
  5. Doesn't make any difference for street driving. On the track, sure, but not on the street.
  6. It makes perfect sense if you understand how rebates work and why they are used. Rebates are offered by the mfr to get rid of excess dealer inventory. Ordering a vehicle doesn't help that thus the rebates don't apply. If you want the rebates then buy one off the lot and you get it. The dealer is just the middle man here. In fact you can have Ford mail the rebate directly to you.
  7. Have you considered keeping the cash in your pocket? If you can afford to spend $1000 - $1500 out of pocket now then you can probably afford to pay for repairs out of pocket also and in the long run (over several vehicles) it will almost always be cheaper to insure yourself. Otherwise insurance companies and extended warranty companies wouldn't be in business. Just something to consider.
  8. If you're in Canada then you get the lower of the incentives in place at the time of order or time of delivery. If you're in the states then you get the incentives from Ford that are in effect when the vehicle is delivered. The dealer has no choice in this. If the dealer told you otherwise then the dealer is wrong.
  9. Sorry but this drives me nuts. It's "accept", not "except".
  10. Probably just for looks. Drilled and slotted rotors do nothing for street driving except make noise in some cases.
  11. Big Ass Moon Roof. That's what the engineers actually called it.
  12. These rules are CATEGORICALLY different in the states. Ontario is Canada, not the U.S. and the rules on incentives and pricing are different.
  13. I think the problem is the low rolling resistance tires that enhance fuel economy. They're probably a harder compound.
  14. All season tires start to lose traction below 45F. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/winterAllSeason.dos
  15. Sounds like you need winter tires. All season tires lose grip when they get too cold. I've never had a problem down to 20F or so in Atlanta but that's on dry roads, not snow or ice.
  16. Right. I forgot you could get mytouch without Nav. But if you don't get mytouch or nav then I think you just get the small display.
  17. You can get Sync without the Nav touch screen in which case you get a small display screen in the center stack. You have to get Nav to get the large 8" touch screen. IIRC.
  18. That depends entirely on what deal you signed. If the deal says "this is the price - period" then you're correct. However, the paperwork almost always indicates that incentives are based on what is in effect at the time of delivery and if you're buying based on an invoice or msrp price and that changes then of course the price will change. Incentives come from the mfr, not the dealer. The dealer has no control over them. If the dealer wants to give you credit for incentives that you may or may not actually receive, that's up to the dealer but it would be stupid for the dealer to promise you a $1000 rebate that Ford won't give you since their profit margin on the vehicle is probably less than that.
  19. And with Nav you get a Map, and POIs and a larger touch screen with radio controls, etc. etc. etc.
  20. Price could have come down or my memory could be wrong.
  21. Studded tires are strictly for driving on ice IIRC, which usually isn't a problem anywhere else.
  22. Bingo! You got it. That is where AWD will help and it sounds like you already have the rest covered. Snow/winter tires will help a lot, too.
  23. That's the whole point - AWD does NOT help with steering or stopping. It only helps you get going. Which is why so many 4wd and AWD vehicles end up in ditches during snowstorms. They think because they can get going with 4WD and AWD that they can drive faster. But it doesn't matter how many wheels have torque if none of them have traction when you need to stop or change directions.
  24. Well of course it helps traction in a muddy, slick parking lot - that's what it's designed for. I guess I misread your comment.
