  1. I'm not positive but I don't think so. It is available with X plan though.
  2. They're actually painted in a totally different location and delivered to the plant ready to install.
  3. They're not lazy. It was a business decision. Ford spent a lot of money on the Ford brand and once the new Explorer and Focus roll out it will be almost complete. They have just now begun to focus on upgrading Lincoln the way it should be. That's why the Taurus is nicer in some ways than the current MKS. Lincoln basically only got table scraps the last 3 years. Now it's their turn but it will take 3-4 years to get all the vehicles upgraded, starting with the refreshed MKS. The MKX will have to wait a bit to get totally unique sheetmetal and other features. I wouldn't be surprised if the 3.7L becomes Lincoln only and the Edge only offers the new 3.5L at some point - like the Explorer. Same reason the new Fusion will likely only get 4 cylinder engines although at least one will be EcoBoosted.
  4. MKX buyers are not your "typical lincoln buyer". These aren't Town Cars.
  5. Also Mother's back to black which can be found in most auto parts stores.
  6. Assuming this is automatic climate control then yes - it adjusts fan speed as needed IF you leave it in automatic mode. If you're in automatic mode and you change the fan setting then it will retain that setting. You have to hit Auto again to put it back to fully automatic mode.
  7. If they're hardwired then that means there isn't anything there to sense the current and change it. When the engine is running the alternator is putting out 14.4 volts or so to run the car and charge the battery. When the engine isn't running you're only getting battery voltage - 12 volts or less. When you crank the engine the current is drawn by the starter which causes the voltage at the powerpoint to drop.
  8. It's not JUST that - it's also HIDs, etc. Now you can get an Edge with the 3.7L but no bells and whistles (Sport) OR you can get the Edge with all the bells and whistles but not the 3.7L (Limited). Or you can get the MKX which has both. This keeps the MKX somewhat exclusive while still allowing Edge buyers access to both the 3.7L and the bells and whistles, just not together.
  9. I'm saying that in order to do away with the ads you'd have to start charging membership fees or at least soliciting donations.
  10. Yes, but a 17" tire is not automatically narrower than a 18" tire. 235/65/17 and 235/65/18 are the same width.
  11. The reason people go with smaller wheels for winter is they're cheaper and you get more tire choices. Sounds like you like the 18s. I don't think you'll be happy with the 17s just to save a few bucks.
  12. Because the Limited only comes with the 3.5L engine, not the 3.7L engine so the MKX still has an advantage with the bigger engine.
  13. How else would you pay the hosting fees? They don't give away websites for free without advertising.
  14. I know exactly what you're saying. Trust me - the Edge Sport competes against the MKX because they share the same engine and they both have the mytouch interface. Offering HIDs and homelink on the Edge Sport would cost some MKX sales and Lincoln dealers need help right now. If you don't think the Edge Sport competes with the MKX then you're not paying attention. I don't like it either, but I understand why they did it.
  15. But it's not the "top of the line" vehicle just because it has a bigger engine. The MKX is the top of the line 3.7L vehicle which I presume is why you can't get HIDs or homelink on the Sport model. Yes, it sucks but that's marketing for you.
