  1. But the question was whether owners of those vehicles were as active on their forums as people tend to be on this and other Ford forums. It's better to look at objective data like JD Power reports.
  2. 3000 is way too soon. That's just the dealer drumming up business. I believe the 2011s have a more sophisticated algorithm so you should follow the owner's manual recommendation and wait for the message center to warn you or alternatively you could change it every 6 months if you don't get the change message sooner.
  3. Please understand that only the ones with problems usually post on forums. As an example one dealer reported selling 200 2011 Edge and/or MKX vehicles and only one had a problem. There are thousands of people with no problems. The biggest recurring problem was the PTU seal leak which only affects AWD vehicles in cold climates and that appears to be fixed for the most part. The problems with MyFordTouch and Sync appear to be mostly fixed now. This was truly uncharted territory for any mfr given the complexity of the hardware and software and I don't see this being a long term concern. Every mfr has a few problems nowadays - even Honda. The Edge won't be perfect but should be as close as anything you'd get from Honda or Toyota and in some cases better.
  4. It could be normal depending on what was ahead of your order in the pipeline. Of course it's also possible your dealer doesn't have any allocation and that's not something they'll usually admit. But it won't hurt to ask. Also make sure your order is a priority 10 - that's the best you can get and will ensure it will be first in line (along with other priority 10s from the same dealer).
  5. I'm impressed. I think this will bring back a lot of lost former explorer owners and a lot of new ones who would have otherwise bought a Pilot or a GM Lambda.

  8. Well, HD is a misnomer - it's really just digital radio and just like digital TV it doesn't guarantee great content. It will take years for broadcasters to figure out how to use HD radio optimally and to put more investment into the equipment. Remember right now HD Radio is an additional cost but probably doesn't add any revenue yet (just like HDTV originally).
  9. No reason lemon law wouldn't apply if the vehicle is out of service but it's a case by case thing.

  22. Sounds like they're having capacity issues - I'm sure this much software downloading by dealers is new for Ford (and most other mfrs - this is uncharted territory as far as car dealers go). Does anyone know if the dealers are using Ford issued and supported computers for this or do they use their own? If they're using their own then that's probably contributing to some of the problems.
