Will the phone pair with any other bluetooth devices? Make sure you have the latest firmware.
-
Sorry - I didn't mean to imply they were standard, just that they were offered as a factory option and thus could be swapped into a non-HID edge.
-
Check the brake light switch behind the brake pedal.
-
Only got Acceptable on roof strength.
-
Or you can by adapters from Crutchfield or elsewhere that you don't have to cut and they're labeled +/- like the speakers IIRC. It also lets you reinstall the oem speakers easily if necessary.

Ford Edge - Limited model comes with HIDs from the factory.
-
http://www.motorcraftservice.com then click on owner's guides. It also has the MFT guide.

If you go to www.fordvehicles.com->Crossovers->Edge->Models and do a compare of the SEL and Limited you'll see that memory seats are only available on the Limited and not on the SEL. NEVER believe ANYTHING the dealer tells you - always verify yourself anything that you really care about. And if you follow the link I gave you then you will see the reference to memory seats on page 149, even if it's not in your copy for some reason.

Make sure you're not on dual temp mode and make sure you're in full auto mode, Have you tested the actual temp with a thermometer near the hvac controls? If it's really off by more than a couple of degrees in full auto mode then the interior temp sensor may be bad. Have the dealer check it.

It should only be around $180 from what I remember.

Sure it does. Page 149. http://www.motorcraftservice.com ->owner guides It says the buttons are on the instrument panel. And please start a new topic for a new question instead of hijacking multiple existing threads.

2011 Audio question for SE model
akirby replied to Burtonfamily's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I just checked and Sync is not available on SE models. All you would be able to do is play the ipod through the audio input jack on the stereo - you would control the ipod on the ipod and not through the vehicle and you would not have any voice commands. If you got a SEL with Sync but without MFT then you get the usb connection and the ability to plug in the ipod or iphone and control it through the vehicle using voice commands. You also get bluetooth connectivity for phones for making and receiving phone calls. -
2011 Audio question for SE model
akirby replied to Burtonfamily's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I assume Sync is an option on the SE so it may or may not have it - just check the window sticker. With sync and without MFT/Nav I do believe you get the smaller display and voice control. You can go here and check out the owner's manual and MFT manual: http://www.motorcraftservice.com -
If you have a 2011 then get the Sync/MFT update (tell the dealer you're having bluetooth problems). Then make sure you have the latest iphone OS software. Finally, try deleting and repairing the phone.

Autoblog finally Reviews the 2011 MKX
akirby replied to revOevoM's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
More will be done but not until the full redesign. There is only so much you can do when you share doors and a greenhouse like the Fusion/MKZ. Expect 100% unique sheetmetal and several new Lincoln only features and drivetrains. -
Moved her from the Welcome forum. If you have the Nav system you don't get sync turn by turn directions - it's one or the other. Always use Nav - that's why you bought it and you get the map, etc. I don't think Sirius gives you turn by turn directions.

This was discussed over in the fusion forum for the same reason. It looks like the only possible way is to either cut the accessory delay power wire or replace it with a switched power source. Unless they changed it on the Edge the SJB controls the accessory delay power feed, shutting it off after 10 minutes or if a door is opened. You can just bypass that with a switched power supply (theoretically). I'd be careful though - you could screw something up. Do this at your own risk.

How to use Nav. while driving?
akirby replied to maddwakester's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Do a search for sync lockpick. But please don't allow the driver to be distracted while driving. -
How to use Nav. while driving?
akirby replied to maddwakester's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Is this for the passenger or the driver? -
I think it's the perimeter lighting feature. Check the OM to see if it's a user defined setting. It is on some vehicles.
-
Contrary to popular belief, they are not a substitute for a true manual transmission. They're most useful for holding a lower gear when driving through the twisties or forcing an early upshift for better fuel economy. It just gives you more control over the automatic which can some in handy sometimes.

It's already been reported that dealers don't have the software yet to upgrade a non-nav MFT even if you were able to get the right SD card. This just confirms it. Won't help. The card is paired to the installed nav software. You can't just buy one off Ebay or steal one and get navigation.
-
I don't think it's quite that simple. There are many 2011 Edges that are working perfectly or only have minor issues. One dealer sold 200 of them and only had one come back in with a problem. Unfortunately some of the ones with problems have BIG problems and Ford definitely dropped the ball on getting the software update to the dealers and into the vehicle. Someone mentioned the fact that the software is loaded using wi-fi on the assembly line and that maybe the software was loaded incorrectly or corrupted. This would explain why it only affects some vehicles and reloading the new software fixes most of the major problems.

Sorry to hear that. This is exactly why I think the automotive franchise laws should be repealed and Ford should have more control over its dealers. Dealers screw up all the time and the customer blames Ford (which is understandable). Unfortunately there is very little Ford can do about it. I suspect in this case Ford has already paid the original dealer for the warranty repair and doesn't want to keep paying other dealers to redo the work.
