  1. Topic closed. Retrosolutions - feel free to start another clean thread for the 2011 Sport HID kit. Thinline - no more posts on this issue.
  2. Blazedup's posts were deleted so I can't check IPs, but the dates are suspcious. Consider this your final warning. Whatever actually happened you've already made your point.
  3. Well I don't like it either so tone it down or I can arrange a vacation.

    Oil Change

Go by the manual - or do it a little sooner at 7500. There is no way it should be changed at 3000.
  6. Using a higher octane than recommended typically won't help, but there are some exceptions. Some vehicles have computer programming that advances the engine timing for better performance. When you advance the engine timing you usually have to increase the octane to compensate. These vehicles will usually be advertised as Premium Fuel recommended (as opposed to required).
  7. On my 08 it comes from the driver's side C pillar. I know because I sit there when my daughter drives and it's really annoying.
  8. Dealers are not the most tech-savvy users to begin with. It's possible those were Ford's directions but it's also possible they misinterpreted it.
  9. Ford isn't doing any of this - the dealers are. And I'd be willing to bet that Ford doesn't instruct the dealers to download directly to the device and that's just how some dealerships are choosing to do it either because they misinterpreted the instructions or they don't have a USB flash drive. Remember these are the same dealers who were told they needed a USB cable but didn't order them. Not saying Ford is perfect or they didn't screw up but I think a lot of the blame goes to the unprepared dealers.
  10. Try pulling the battery and resetting the phone first, just for grins.
  11. This is all covered in the manual. There is a procedure where you place the fob in a special slot next to the receiver and that allows the vehicle to start normally. I think it's in or near the center console.
  12. It should be printed somewhere in the vehicle but I don't remember exactly where on the Edge.
  13. I was responding to EdgieGuy's post that said he had to pay for air (that's why I quoted it).
  14. It still fluctuates, just not as much. But unless you're in a NASCAR race where you're adjusting tire pressure to the 1/4 pound, it won't matter. The biggest benefit is lack of moisture. If you check your tire pressure regularly there is no practical benefit to nitrogen filling. But it won't hurt.
  15. You could try some powdered graphite - that's what locksmiths use. I agree it sounds like a switch is getting stuck inside the ignition.
  16. The air is still free. It's the compression you have to pay for..........
  17. If it's sticky I would try bug and tar remover or WD-40 first. Clay bar is typically used for hard surface contamination like rail dust.
  18. Well that's the correct test. That sucks. I assumed all Edges had the perimeter alarm feature. Now I have to go test my 08 Limited.
  19. Isn't there a fuse you can pull to disable the rear wheel torque transfer? That would be the ultimate troubleshooting test. Run the same curve with and without AWD.
  20. You guys do understand that not all stations will be broadcasting more than one sub station, right? So there might not be a HD2 or HD3 channel available. At least that's my understanding.
  21. You should change it somewhere between 6 and 12 months and 10K-20K KMs. Ford uses synthetic blend oil and the newer vehicles use a sophisticated algorithm that takes into account engine load and other factors to determine when it actually needs to be changed. Changing it every 3 months/5K miles is overkill and a waste of good oil on today's engines.
  22. Wow - I had to go look up the owner's manual because I thought all Ford with keyless remotes came with a perimeter alarm on the doors, trunk and hood but it appears you are correct - the 2009 F150 offers keyless entry but no perimeter alarm. All of my vehicles have had it over the last 10 years so I didn't realize it was optional on some.
  23. Hate to sound so obvious, but are you sure you're using the right code? Did you check the card in the glovebox? If so then you may have one bad button. Try each one to see if it lights up the display.
  24. Sure it does. Have someone sit in the front seat. Lock the doors with the keyfob and wait 1 minute, then have the person inside open the door. The horn will start sounding, the lights will flash and the ignition will be disabled. Almost all Fords have had this feature for the last decade.
