  1. That's it. Thinline is now officially on a 2 week time out.
  2. Stick to facts and stop the name-calling.
  3. Should we start calling you the Edge whisperer? What exactly does it say? :shades:

    EPA MPG

You might want to read the link you posted more carefully. The EPA certifies all the results but the mfrs actually do most of the actual testing.
  5. The details are at www.fueleconomy.gov - I know the new test includes one acceleration up to 75 or 80.
  6. It was always listed as 'late availability". I'm sure all their resources have been tied up fixing MFT issues first. Would you rather have a web browser or a MFT with fewer bugs?
  7. Should be fine, plus you can go longer in between changes. And they should blink faster, too!
  8. Did you check the blinker fluid? It might be low...... Seriously though - I don't believe there is a blinker volume adjustment. If there it would be in the owner's manual.
  9. Those plans include an awful lot of labor for "inspection". It's cheaper just to do the recommended fluid/filter changes and other actual service as needed. If you do some of it yourself it's even cheaper. Even if it's the same price I'd rather pay as I go. Think about it - you're paying up front now for service that won't occur for 3 years.
  10. I knew the sales tax on trade-ins varied by state but did not know the tax on rebates varied. Thanks for the chart.
  11. 100% correct. Think of them as mail-in rebates - you buy the product including taxes then you get money back. It works the same way except the dealer usually deducts the rebates from the total cost and keeps the rebate. But if you want Ford will mail you the rebate check directly.
  12. Didn't think you could invoke lemon law on a 3 yr old vehicle. There is a permanent fix - unfortunately it's dependent on the skill level of the techs to do the repair correctly. I highly recommend trying a different dealer - also let them double check with Ford as to whether this is covered by the powertrain warranty.
  13. Only the dealer could do this and they'd have to trick the system into thinking it was a Lincoln vehicle to get the right files. Which may not be possible. Even if it was - why would you want it? I think the functionality is the same.
  14. I don't think it syncs the calendar but you should read the sync/mytouch manual just to be safe.
  15. They're fantastic on a hot day. My wife almost forced us into spending $5000 more for the MKX just to get cooled seats. She used them a lot in the summer after a hot day of tennis. If you don't have them you won't miss them but once you do have them they're hard to give up.
  16. You could always calibrate it by wearing down the good tire to match the bad one.........
  17. Then the dealers are simply taking a calculated risk that the incentives are not going to go down and if they did they would have to pay them out of pocket because Ford will not honor it. Sounds like this may be something started by one dealer so the others joined in to stay competitive. But you won't find this very often elsewhere in the U.S.
  18. This was a preexisting published bluetooth protocol. Ford chose to support it. Cell phone mfrs have not. Ford didn't create the protocol. Ford can't force cell phone mfrs to support the protocol. Ford advertised the feature which does work with at least one group of phones. You think that's misleading. I think it's smart marketing. There is always a lag between the consumer of a feature and feature providers. Up until MFT there probably were no major bluetooth devices capable of displaying contact photos or reading text messages so there was no reason for the cell phone mfrs to support that protocol. Now you have potentially hundreds of thousands of devices available and I'm sure the cell phone mfrs will start adding support for related protocols.
  19. No way, Larry. Don't you know expensive cars never have problems? They're always perfect, especially the imports. [/sarcasm] Sorry, k1200rsport but this could have been handled oh so easily without all the drama. "hey service mgr - come look at this loose trim piece" "yeah that's no good. we'll order a new one no problem." "hey - the part is here. drop it off and we'll fix it." "here you go. sorry you had that problem." Happens every day.
  20. You'll put 240 miles on your new vehicle in just a few days. It wouldn't make any difference to me.
  21. So tell us the bluetooth protocol that everyone uses that DOES allow text messages to be read that Ford should have used instead. I'll wait........
  22. Great, but didn't the dealer already order a new one for you?
  23. Technically, Sync isn't supported by the iPhone, not the other way around. As I explained already it's the iphone that doesn't have the proper bluetooth protocol.
