    Recall

Check the PINNED topic in the Recalls and TSBs section...........
  3. Not a technical issue - the 3.5L ecoboost vehicles are either offered with AWD/4WD or come standard with it. Either they didn't like the performance of the 2.0L ecoboost with AWD or since they're selling it based on fuel economy they want the highest possible MPG and that excludes AWD. I'm sure it will eventually be offered.
  4. The new CMax feature is even better. You just wave your foot under the bumper and the hatch opens. Hands free.
  5. How are you accessing the music - on an ipod/iphone or on a usb flash drive? If you're using an ipod/iphone they should work already just like they do from the ipod/iphone itself. You only need the M3U playlist files if you're using a usb drive, which I assume is the case but wanted to be sure so you don't waste your time.
  6. I don't know Sean but I'm virtually certain that it's explained in the owner's manual. You can get them online here (and use the search feature if necessary): http://www.motorcraftservice.com -> owner guides
  7. Good grief! For the 3rd time in 24 hours I'm closing this thread and reminding everyone that this was reported already back in January in this same sub-forum. Please check to see if these things have already been posted before reposting them. I pinned the thread for now so it's more visible. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/6377-ford-recalls-edge-mkx-for-potential-fire-hazard/
  8. 150K simulated with huge temp swings.
  9. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO? Let me help you - GET THE CAR TO A DEALER ASAP. That is a dangerous situation that needs to be checked asap. It could be an actual fuel leak that could lead to a fire or just the evap cannister. Either way, get it checked fast!
  10. Of course anything can break, but you might want to do a google search for "F150 ecoboost torture test" and see how that ecoboost engine fared. Pretty impressive if you ask me. I don't have any qualms about the reliability of any Ford ecoboost engine but if you did have a problem it probably would be more expensive.
  11. We worked it out. You can post the TSB now if you like.
  12. Already posted back in January. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/6377-ford-recalls-edge-mkx-for-potential-fire-hazard/
  13. Ok, there is a "Transmission Control" switch that you can press that turns off overdrive and if you press it again it turns overdrive back on. It also enables and disables Grade Assist. On my 2008 the button works exactly the same way (including Grade Assist) but is labeled O/D. I don't know if the 2011 button is also labeled O/D.
  14. There is according to the 2011 Edge owner's manual.
  15. Ford's ecoboost engines are much more efficient than Mazda's turbos so that's not a good comparison. We don't have numbers on the 2.0L ecoboost yet but here is a comparison of the 3.5L in the Flex with and without ecoboost: Without - 16/22 (268 hp) With - 16/21 (365 hp) Or you can compare the 3.5L Ecoboost in the F150 to the 6.2L: 3.5L EB 16/22 6.2L 13/18 I don't think the 2.0L EB will be as efficient in the Edge but where the current 3.5L gets 19/27, I'd expect the 2.0L to come in around 22/29.
  16. It's a 2.0L ecoboost engine (direct injection turbo). It's supposed to provide adequate power in the 240 hp range while delivering better mpg. They haven't released the exact numbers but it will be a $750 upgrade (or thereabouts). I think it will be pushing to get more than 3 mpg better than the current 3.5L engine. Personally I wouldn't wait unless you're obsessed with getting maximum fuel mileage and don't mind paying extra for it up front. I've also heard it doesn't drive as well. It won't be released until summer or late fall.
  17. From the owner's manual: The automatic transmission shift strategy has the ability to detect hilly terrain or mountainous areas and will provide a limited amount of grade assist features automatically. Refer to D (Drive) with Grade Assist or SelectShift for more information. The engine is simply providing limited engine braking to offload the brakes. You get more engine braking by using the O/D switch and even more by changing to L. It should go back to normal when you hit the gas again. If not, try turning the O/D off and back on again. It's perfectly normal to engage - not sure about it not disengaging.
  18. You should still be able to send him a private email. Click on his name.
  19. Thanks but that wasn't directed at you. And Thinline has been suspended temporarily for name-calling in another thread on top of numerous previous issues including this one.
  20. That's it. Thinline is now officially on a 2 week time out.
  21. Stick to facts and stop the name-calling.
  22. Should we start calling you the Edge whisperer? What exactly does it say? :shades:

    EPA MPG

You might want to read the link you posted more carefully. The EPA certifies all the results but the mfrs actually do most of the actual testing.
