  1. Buy it out now and you can turn around in 6 months and sell it for a $3K profit (or trade it in). I'd buy it, drive it for another year while they get the bugs out of the 2011s then see if you can make the numbers work.
  2. If you only put 9500 miles on your 08 then you have paid more on your lease payments than the car has depreciated (most likely), so if you just turn it back in you're losing money. If you like it and can't really afford a new one then it's a no-brainer. As far as the extended warranty, I don't recommend them except where a new car buyer can't afford to pay for a large repair (fixed income, etc.) so you put the extended warranty into the price of the new vehicle so you only pay a few bucks per month. Otherwise if you can afford to pay cash for a $1500 warranty then you can probably afford to pay for a repair and if so you'll save money over the long run by self-insuring. If you really want the warranty then finance it with the car to avoid the large repair bill later. Also be aware the time and mileage limits on ESPs (make sure it's a Ford ESP - don't consider anything else) usually start when you buy the vehicle, so you would already be into year 4 or a 7 yr warrranty - you're only paying for 4 additional years. Doesn't sound like you'd ever hit the mileage limit.
  3. The price difference between a SE and SEL is $2500-$3000, not $5K. By the time you add an aftermarket hitch and coolers and wiring and modify the bumper you'll probably be halfway to the cost of the SEL anyway. Get the SEL and enjoy the extra stuff and you won't have to worry whether the aftermarket stuff was done right.
  4. New only. Why would Ford care if you bought a used vehicle?
  5. Apparently the AP decided to rebroadcast the recall - I presume because the article said the repairs would begin in March. You were the second person to post the same thing which had already been posted back in January. I didn't want people to be confused into thinking this was a NEW recall in addition to the one announced in January. So I closed them and pinned the old one so it showed up at the top of the forum to prevent other people from reposting it yet again. This sounds like something new so it's fine - but you didn't need to post it twice in 2 different topics in the same forum.
  6. What you posted previously WAS old news. It was the same 35,000 vehicle recall that was previously reported. The papers were reporting it again. What you posted above IS new but that's not what you posted before. And I was talking about the 2 posts you made TODAY that were identical about the Re-Inspection.
  7. 30 mpg was the target but I heard they were coming up short which is probably part of the reason for the delay.
  8. Not happening. It's not actually Ford - it's either Clarion or Pioneer who makes the Nav head unit. The old ones used a hard drive to store the maps and Ford took advantage of the extra storage for the jukebox. The new units are SD card based - no more hard drives. Assuming you own a computer - it's just as easy to rip the cds to the computer, then copy to a usb stick. With the added advantage of being able to make your own meta tags and being able to reload and change the songs any time you want.
  9. So why did you post the exact same thing twice in the same forum?
  10. I have no idea what you're referring to. I pinned the original recall so people could see it and not re-post it over and over and over. Please enlighten me as to what was "undesirable messing around".......
  11. You both made your points - let's move on please.
  12. You can already do that - they're called waypoints.
  13. Anything that claims to be "permanent" is a red flag. Stick with the known stuff - zaino or plain carnauba or one of the ones that our local detaielrs have already recommended. There is no magic bullet. Sealants last longer than wax but both wear out and must be reapplied anywhere from 1 to 6 months.
  14. The bluetooth audio changes were all I heard mentioned so I wouldn't get too excited about pictures and texting.
  15. And if you do lock it with the keypad and the fob inside, it disables the fob from starting the vehicle until you unlock it via the keypad.
  16. You can't lock the fob inside unless you use the keypad to lock it.
  17. The park light is separate. If one light works (flashes) and one doesn't, always change the one that doesn't work at all.
  18. www.syncmyride.com www.motorcraftservice.com -> owner guides you can get both the owner's manual and the MFT/sync supplements online. Enjoy!
  19. AFAIK the Flex was the only model that got the movable seats. And I don't see that feature on the 2011 Flex (it might be there but it isn't listed as a feature).
  20. What gave you the idea that the rear seats should move back and forth? They don't - they only recline.
  21. Let me spell it out for you. Stop using words like stupid, idiot, witless, myopic and lowly. Is that clear enough?
  22. I don't think anyone makes one. Find a supplier that makes them for other vehicles and see if they'll make one for you.
  23. You're thinking of the MKX. It's the same basic vehicle but the MKX gets different front and rear styling, a different interior and some exclusive features like cooled seats, THX audio. The MKX is also a bit quieter and the standard engine is larger. You can compare them yourself as http://www.fueleconomy.gov .
  24. Aha - that's called a Skid Plate. Did you try a google search?
