  1. It doesn't learn driving behaviors. It simply adapts shift pressure to match factory specs as parts wear and to account for manufacturing tolerances. Maybe it compensated for some temporary mechanical issue or the table just got corrupted.
  2. 2.7 is only available on the Sport not the Titanium. I've owned a Fusion with the 2.0LEB and and Edge with the 3.5L and currently have a MKX with the 3.7L. I much prefer the 2.0LEB for the off the line torque and you don't have to worry about the water pump failing and taking out the engine on the 3.5/3.7. But you'd have to drive it to see which one you prefer.
  3. Probably not. In addition to escape there is also a Baby Bronco on the same platform so they made 2 different vehicles. Escape on the soft side and Bronco Scout on the more masculine side. Also Escape is replacing Focus hatchback so it’s lower to the ground. Edge is in a different market position altogether.
  4. With that type of problem you’re losing cylinder pressure for sure. I wouldn’t expect it to run well at all.
  5. This engine has been proven in multiple vehicles for almost a decade. This sounds like a one-off problem that happens sometimes. It sucks but I’m pretty confident a new engine will fix it permanently.
  6. Order bank for the 2020 Edge opens 7/15 and we should have the order guide around the same date detailing the changes. Job 1 is 9/30. If they were changing the interior I think we would have seen a preview at one of the major auto shows, so I don’t expect it to change.
  7. The seatbelt minder is programmed to not come on again if you unbuckle it after you start driving. So that's not a good test. In the past I've seen a similar type of alert if the cluster wasn't programmed to the vehicle correctly. Chances are some kind of code is being stored - might be time for a trip to the dealer.
  8. I just stop on the first click now. Sometimes I'll do a second click but I'm not taking any chances.
  9. When the A/C is on Max it probably tries to start the compressor immediately. If not then it may not try to start it immediately. I would also recommend changing the battery just to be safe.
  10. It might mean the AC compressor pulley is frozen and not allowing the engine to turn over.
  11. Throttle body would be a good starting point. Are you getting any codes?
  12. Well that’s always the case whether the service dept is owned by the mfr or independent. The shop is the one with hands and eyes on the vehicle. If they don’t communicate the right information to Ford then there isn’t much Ford can do. You have to find a good shop. But I think there is a misconception. Ford doesn’t tell techs how to diagnose every potential problem. They publish TSBs and troubleshooting procedures for the techs to follow but it’s still up to the tech to do the troubleshooting (with or without a code or TSB) just like any other mechanic. Some are good at it and some are not. Ford does review warranty claims but the dealer has to request engineering assistance for a tough problem.
  13. If you only have 1 key then you need a dealer to program the second one and that should also wipe out the mykey settings. If you have 2 keys one should be a master key. If not again you need a dealer (or a locksmith or shop with a Ford IDS).
  14. Service departments are not Ford. They are completely independent businesses. Ford relies on the service depts to tell them what’s wrong. If the tech says it’s normal then Ford has to take their word for it. If they say it’s normal then they should let you take another one for a test drive to prove it. If they all do it then it probably is a design flaw and you’ll have to wait for Ford to come up with a fix. If they don’t all do it then you need to find a dealer willing to fix it.
  15. Once again that's not what adaptive learning means - it doesn't learn your driving habits it learns your individual transmission quirks and wear over time and adjusts shift pressures to keep factory preset shift characteristics. Since the non-ST models are all 2.0EB engines they all have the 8F35 transmission. The Edge ST and Nautilus 2.7L have the 8F57. Just because there is no TSB doesn't mean there isn't a problem. It just means Ford hasn't seen enough vehicles with the same problem to make it a TSB yet. They don't need a TSB to diagnose and repair a vehicle. It could be a one off problem with your vehicle. You just need a tech that's willing to take the time to diagnose and repair it.
  16. The TSB tells you exactly which vehicles are covered. That doesn't mean all those vehicles have that problem, it just means they might have the problem that the TSB addresses. And it is a VERY well known problem so your dealer probably isn't being truthful.
  17. This was a recall in North America for both the Edge and Fusion. Check with the dealer to see if it’s covered. The latches have to be replaced (all 4).
  18. What do you mean “it only shows the campus”?
  19. Check around the spare tire and see if something is loose.
  20. Click on the picture then click on the gear in the upper right corner and you should have a hide option. I don’t see a delete option.
