  1. Not without the SD card that holds the map data.
  2. Electronics usually fail right away or it lasts for years and years. It doesn't wear out. Self-insuring is always cheaper in the long run but you have to be able to afford it. I can afford to pay for a repair on my vehicle so I self-insure. I can't afford to buy a new vehicle if mine is totalled so I have car insurance for that. My wife can't afford to maintain our lifestyle on her own so I have life insurance. If it makes you feel better to have an extended warranty or you just like to gamble then go for it. But don't pretend that it will save money in the long run because it won't.
  3. I get a lot more peace of mind with $7500 cash still in my pocket, but maybe that's just me.
  4. I think it's either/or - you either get what was in place at order time or current incentives, but I don't think you can mix and match. Let's say Ford offered a $2000 rebate when you ordered and now it's only 0% financing. You can get either the $2000 or the 0% but not both.
  5. A sample size of 2 is mighty small. For comparison, I've had 5 vehicles that we kept at least 2 years after the factory warranty expired. I never had a repair so had I bought an extended warranty on all 5 I would have wasted $7500. I can buy a new engine tomorrow and still be way ahead. You can get lucky (or unlucky) on one or two or even a few vehicles, but in the long run you won't win because if you did then the warranties would lose money and nobody would sell them.
  6. Never ask that question AFTER you buy something........
  7. Not common but it happens to all vehicles. My guess would be driveshaft.
  8. Generally speaking, yes. YMMV. Was the vette in a lower gear at 55? That would explain it. In most modern cars you're in top gear well before you hit 55.
  9. Sure. Just find one with IA and trade yours for it. Seriously though - there are way too many parts (console port for emergencies, door sensors, ignition/steering column, dash w/pushbutton, PCM programming (possibly), not to mention different wiring harnesses, etc. That would be a HUGE and expensive job if it was even possible.
  10. All vehicles will get better mpg at 55 than 65. The engine is running at lower RPM and there is much less wind resistance.
  11. Just to clarify - in the U.S. dealers can charge $100 doc fee on all plan sales.
  12. It does - I think yours is not working correctly.
  13. It does use both, but it uses the outside temp to gauge how much heating or cooling is necessary. 60 is MAX A/C mode and will force recirculated air. If it's 90 outside and you have it on 66 when you first start it then it should be close to max fan speed and temp within a few seconds. If not then your inside temp sensor may be bad.

    Oil Change

Right - so what does that tell you?
  15. First, it's "plain" stupid, not plane. Second, I didn't say it "ruled out" anything. I said logic would dictate an incompatibility with the phone since that was the only piece that had not been recently changed. The fact that it works on another car doesn't mean anything either. The only way to be sure is to eliminate possibilities. There have been many reports of people having connectivity issues that were resolved by replacing the phone. It doesn't mean the phone itself is bad - it's just a compatibilty issue. OTOH if switching out the phone doesn't fix the problem then it points back to the Sync system. I'm just trying to help with the troubleshooting. If someone said they had upgraded the software and changed phones and it still didn't work I would say it's most likely the APIM. It's logic, not cheerleading.
  16. Many, many others? That's strange - I don't recall seeing anyone here with a similar problem. You need to find another dealer willing to investigate and fix the real problem. Sounds like the first one just didn't want to be bothered.
  17. Since Ford doesn't control the EPA test procedure I fail so see how the estimated fuel economy can be labeled "Ford hype".
  18. Have you tried a different phone? If you changed the APIM and the software and the problem persists then logic would point to the phone itself. If you can find a different one to try that should confirm it.
  19. Only if you're willing to pay the webhosting fees.
  20. Just to be clear - only AWD versions have PTUs.
  21. And you're not worried about water ingestion?
  22. Really? Check your quoted pictures now.
  23. Was it really necessary to quote the pictures BOTH times?
