The ones they're working on now. Total revamp of Lincoln starting with the dealerships and dealer experience followed by 7 vehicles with 100% unique sheetmetal, drivetrains, interiors and new luxury features. Word is the new MKZ is stunning and resembles an Aston Martin more than a Ford. I expect a lot more luxury features for Lincoln now that Mercury is gone and they've committed to making Lincoln a true luxury brand.

Some people like to rest their hand on that area while navigating the touch screen. The simple solution is not to rest your hand there.

You are correct that some vehicles are still having serious problems, but there are other owners (Edge, Explorer and Focus) that are having few or no problems. But Ford is not hiding anything. They have continued to put out new software releases trying to fix the problem and they've publicly acknowledged the issues. They are also working internally to completely rewrite the software. They know they screwed up big time and they're trying to fix it. Unfortunately it can't be fixed overnight. Has your dealer applied the latest software update and/or considered replacing the APIM? You might want to give another dealer a shot at fixing it.

The new 2.11 software seems to fix most of the major issues or at least greatly reduce the problems for most people. Some are still having issues which could be hardware related. I would say test out the MFT system for at least 20-30 minutes including phone calls and navigation (if equipped). If it seems to work then it's probably ok. Worst case Ford should have a totally new version rewritten from scratch next year.

I would wait for the 2012 and order exactly what you want.

Our 2003 Aviator had the tilt rear view mirrors in reverse. Worked great. I bet the new Lincolns get them (along with retractable full glass roofs, electronically controlled suspensions and push button/electronic gear selectors). And a working My Lincoln Touch.

Get some rhino floor ramps - they work great and are much easier and safer than the floor jack. The floor jack is meant to be used in the normal location - just behind the front wheel and just in front of the rear wheel. It's not designed to be jacked anywhere else. It will lift up the rear wheel because it's a unibody design and relatively stiff - that's normal.

Nav does seem to cause more problems and the maps don't seem to be as good as previous nav systems. If you don't mind using a hand held nav or your phone or you just don't use it very often then leaving it off would be an option.

Something has changed with Ford's rebates. I know in some cases the rebates are coming from local dealer associations and the national Ford website doesn't always know those. But the bottom line is VINCENT does list all of the Ford incentives that you qualify for based on your personal information (zip code, address, etc.) and the vehicle VIN. If your dealer isn't forthcoming or doesn't know how to check then I'm not sure what to tell you other than find another dealer. It's not as simple as checking the Ford website any more and I'm not sure why and whether it's intentional or just lack of updates to the web site I'm not sure.

It may only show up on job 2 and later. Job 1 may not show anything. Or maybe they're not putting it on the window sticker any longer. Not sure.

It's painted plastic I believe so it should be black underneath. If it's still under warranty take it back to the dealer.

Considering the cheapest X5 stickers at $47K ($57K for the Sport) while the Edge Sport starts at $37K, I would hope it performs a lot better.

I don't think the police would bother to pull you over at all unless you blinded them with your oncoming lights. It's illegal in GA to drive in the rain without headlamps, but I've never seen or heard of anyone getting pulled over or getting a ticket. That a lot more dangerous than some of the other stuff they do pull you over for.

All vehicles are 'quipped' but only Canadian dealers have the software to turn them on.
