  1. Too much extra oil can cause cavitation in the crankcase and rob power.
  2. I've used Meguiar's quick detailer a few times with excellent results. And it smells good......
  3. There were problems with the 20" chrome wheels. If you're under warranty it shouldn't be an issue.
  4. I suggest starting a new thread if you don't get a lot of responses. This one is 3 years old. Check the fluid level and look for leaks around the master cylinder and each wheel. Could also be air in the system requiring a bleed. If none of that pinpoints the problem then it's probably the brake booster. Do a search - it's happened to a few folks. Also - it's pedal and engaged. (sorry, pet peeve).
  5. We already established there is no restriction or penalty on the buyer. But there's a good chance your dealer missed out on a cut from Ford Credit.
  6. It is a tri-coat paint - base coat, top coat, clear coat. It takes extra steps to paint and the paint itself is more expensive - that's why it costs more. It is similar to a pearl finish.
  7. There is no issue between you and Ford Credit - you can pay it off at any time and still get the rebate. Like you said - there isn't anything in the paperwork. I've heard the dealer only gets the kickback after 3 months but I've never seen that confirmed. Dingo?
  8. I thought those previous map updates came directly from NavTeq, not from Ford.
  9. Wow - they never did that with NavTeq. I guess we'll find out when the first update becomes available.
  10. Haven't seen any yet but Ford doesn't normally sell these - they come from the map provider. I forgot who the map provider is for the 2011s but it's not Navteq.
  11. Ford used to use Navteq and they publish map updates on DVD for $200. You can also find them on Ebay. Because of the price they're not big sellers.
  12. I'd say there's a good chance an aluminum wheel with chrome cladding might actually be more expensive than a simple chrome plated steel wheel. They still have to manufacture the aluminum wheel, chrome plate the "hubcap" and epoxy it to the wheel. So the wheel itself is more expensive and it takes more labor. I don't think this was done to save a buck - I think it was done to save weight and produce a longer lasting product that doesn't get pitted over time. Chrome platers say the finish is just as durable as traditional chrome on steel.
  13. There have been reports of the PCM burning up the coils. If the dealer won't help try Ford directly and explain that the PCM caused the coils to go bad (no other reasonable explanation i can think of). If that doesn't work talk to your local dealer and have them check with Ford. I wouldn't bother with an attorney - just take them to small claims court if that's possible.
  14. To be fair, you insulted his profession with your 'stealership' comment which was neither correct nor necessary. L1TECH has been very helpful in other threads. This one had already been diagnosed by everyone else. Let's call it a draw and move on.
  15. That's just the travel link (traffic info, etc.). That part is linked to navigation, but not the normal Sirius satellite radio stations.
  16. No, the navigation card is the navigation card. Sirius has nothing to do with navigation or the SD card.
  17. Please note that if your phone isn't on the list, it doesn't mean it's not compatible, just that Ford hasn't tested it. Phones that use the same O/S should have similar functionality.
  18. syncmyride.com but you have to look for it. Almost all phones are compatible for making phone calls and streaming music. Very few will do contact photos and SMS text messages though. Not sure about the Nokia.
  19. My 18s are perfect after 3+ years. And unlike real chrome plated steel - it won't pit.
  20. You said it's in FWD until slip is detected. That's the part that isn't true. Ford's programming takes into account steering angle and throttle position and will send power to the rear before slip occurs - to prevent slippage. That's all I was saying. As for only sending 50% of the power to the rear, Ford has reported in the past that it could send up to 97% of the torque to the rear if necessary, but I can't find any links right now.
