  1. Anywhere from 35-38 normally. 40 for trips. I have 18's.
  2. You can easily run 4-5 PSI more than stock on any OEM tires. It won't make a huge difference but it will help.
  3. Yes - just a couple hundred yards from MF I think.
  4. I remember seeing both Navteq and Telenav mentioned at the same time in one of the press releases but I don't know which one is doing which. But it sounded like both were involved.
  5. The biggest gains are from how you drive. I find that coasting gains you the most - you'd be surprised how soon you can let off the gas when approaching an intersection, light or stop sign or just driving along in a downhill situation. And timing it so you don't have to come to a complete stop at traffic lights. Also make sure the tires are properly inflated - maybe add 3-4 psi.
  6. If you read K&N's claims you'll see that they offer no test evidence that supports ANY mpg gains. They have those tests for power - why not fuel economy? The fact is on a modern fuel injected car the computer adjusts the fuel to match the incoming air so it doesn't matter what type of filter you have - the engine operates exactly the same. If you can get MORE air into the engine then you can produce more power and being able to exhaust more air can allow more air in (depending on other factors). But just because the engine can breathe better it doesn't mean it will get better mileage. In one test they put a diaper in the airbox (which lets very little air through) and while the test vehicle had very little power, the fuel mileage actually went UP by 3 mpg. It's a nice theory but it doesn't stand up to real world testing. Exhaust could make a slight difference based on changes to back pressure or some other problem that an aftermarket system solved but again most of that gain has already been found by the factory.
  7. That's highly unlikely and not possible at all with just the intake. Don't believe everything you read on car forums especially when it comes to power or fuel economy.
  8. The most you could really expect is 5-15 hp and that's being generous. It would be more for sound and looks than performance.
  9. But at least in these situations there is no one to blame and no way it could have been prevented.
  10. That's why you should use it all the time. You never know when something is going to break. And just because the majority of people do something doesn't make it right. I even use mine in the garage.
  11. Easiest way is to verify the current draw with a voltmeter, then remove one fuse or relay at a time until the draw goes away. That will identify the circuit, then you can trace down the faulty part from there.
  12. If it was still in Park then that would have to be it. Although I don't think I've ever seen or heard about one.
  13. They didn't add Sync until 2008. My Ford Touch was added in 2011 along with the new engines. The early AWD models (07-09) had some issues with the PTU seals leaking but once properly repaired they seem to be ok. FWD models won't have that problem. There was a problem with wheel bearings that requires the trailing arms to be replaced. It's covered if it's under warranty, otherwise it's several hundred bucks.
  14. That's why they call it a Parking brake and that's why you should always use it. That said, did the shifter jump out of Park? I assume it was in Park because you removed the key? Or was this a keyless system? If it was keyless are you sure you left it in Park?
  15. Could be. Hard to diagnose over the internet.
  16. I think the THX version is different but the non-THX version should be the same.
  17. Let me clarify - PM me and I'll send you the family's contact info so you can send a note personally if you like. (Thanks Joe)
  18. Sounds familiar - try a search. Either way you'll need to take it back to the dealer for repair.
  19. Did you try turning the blower to high, temp to 90, A/C on and select the defrost vents? That should do it.
  20. Thanks. I don't want to post anything but if anyone would like to send condolences to the family send me a PM.
  21. Unfortunately that was my long time neighbor whom I used to play tennis with. I just found out about a hour ago. I haven't seen him for several years except maybe once at a party. This is so sad. You never think it will happen to people you know.
  22. Now I'm confused. If the fog was on the inside then how would running the wipers help?
  23. The defroster only clears fog from the inside of the windshield. To help with Fog and Frost on the outside it has to actually heat up the windshield. When you hit the Defrost button, turn the blower on high and the temp all the way to max (90).
  24. I didn't say you badgered anyone or what we said was right or wrong. You had a problem that COULD have been a bad battery but you dismissed it only because you had changed the battery and checked voltage - which is not enough to rule out a bad battery. You need to do a load test. The point was you weren't very receptive to the help that was offered and you haven't bothered to offer help to anyone else these last few months - yet you have the nerve to complain because nobody is answering your questions. I'm just suggesting you're more likely to get help in the future if you're a little nicer about it. BTW - what was the problem back in April?
  25. When you asked for help back in April with your battery, several people offered help but all you did was argue with us that we were wrong. I don't see any posts where you've helped other people asking questions. Sometimes you get what you give.
