  1. Try pulling and reinstalling fuse 29 or disconnecting the negative battery cable for 30 minutes. Could be MFT.
  2. This has reportedly been fixed in the new software - it doesn't have to reload each time you start the car.
  3. Just to clarify, Ford has confirmed that they'll have a rewrite ready and it will be mailed to customers in January on a usb drive along with a new SD card for Nav equipped vehicles.
  4. In other words, MFT sees the usb drive as a disk and it must interpret what's on it. It sees the ipod as a device with an operating system and interacts with it via an API. Totally different.
  5. If somebody shaved the door handle and removed the lock then who knows what else they screwed up. Can you take a picture?

    Call History

I think the consensus was no, that can't be done but I'm not 100% sure. Just have the mistress call when you're not in the car......
  7. Replacing the battery shouldn't deprogram the fob. Make sure the battery is the correct type and installed correctly. You could try a different battery to be safe. Where is the other keyfob? It should still be working.
  8. There is also a chance that the ones who say it doesn't tilt just aren't trying it the right way. I know one was looking for a button and there isn't one.
  9. All (or at least the latest and previous one or two) manual versions are available online from www.motorcraftservice.com ->owner guides. I've never heard of Ford sending out updated manuals.
  10. One person with a 2012 had pictures showing the headrest at different angles and that was also confirmed by another 2012 MKX owner. Do you have a 2012?
  11. Try the button that looks like a phone handset........
  12. It's fine for daily driving for me and my wife never had an issue. It's better if you recline the seatback. My issue was always long trips where the herniated disc in my neck would start to act up. I need to be able to move my head all the way back every once in a while to keep everything stretched out.
  13. Careful - the rebates usually don't apply to leases - or they are much lower. Lease incentives are usually built into the payments and therefore hidden.
  14. Saying the features won't work without paying a subscription is ridiculous - the author obviously doesn't understand how MFT works and the difference with Sync services. As for future repairs - I'm sure there will be new APIMs with newer hardware that would be backwards compatible. Anybody know the interface between the APIM and the rest of the system?
  15. The manual appears to be wrong since we now have both an Edge and MKX owner saying the fronts are tilt adjustable, which is good news. It's the one thing I don't like on our 08 Edge. I even turned mine around backwards on our last roadtrip.
  16. I remembered discussing them but I didn't remember the outcome.
  17. So you're really paying $399/month ($299 plus $2700/27 months) for 27 months. The OP got $389 ($338 plus $2000/39 months) for 39 months but with fewer miles and less features. It really depends on the incentives being offered at that time as to whether you can do better or not.
  18. Nice! Have you seen the upcoming 2013 Escape?
  19. If you plan on taking it to the dealer for every scheduled maintenance and doing everything they say to do including all the inspections, then it's probably a good idea. But IMO that's overkill. If you just have the dealer replace what needs to be replaced per the OM then you can probably save a lot of money - even more if you do your own oil changes, etc. There really isn't a lot that has to be done for the first 100K miles if you check the maintenance schedule.
  20. I was under the impression that those were no longer used. Are they?
