  1. Find a new dealer. Sounds like yours isn't doing the repair procedure properly.
  2. Technically MyFordTouch is still Sync (Sync 2 to be precise). I think he's installing MyFordTouch but has a problem with the version shown versus what he updated.
  3. Well even if they only save $10/vehicle not running the extra wiring that's a couple million bucks a year savings. I think most people who want a hitch get the factory option. I would normally have ordered but didn't want to wait and the one vehicle we found within 90 miles that we liked didn't have it, so I added one to our 16 MKX (hidden hitch - which is no longer offered - it tucks up under the bumper so all you see is the receiver) with the Curt (I think) wiring harness. I only used it to pull a small utility trailer a few times so I tapped into the rear power point and plugged into the factory taillights. It would be a lot easier if they'd leave the wiring - at least on the upper models. Call it tow pkg prep. Easier to bury the price on Titaniums and Reserves.
  4. Ah I see now. So you want to play your guitar using the car stereo as the amplifier. Doesn’t that make it pretty hard to steer? A Bluetooth adapter is probably the best solution but the delay might be a problem.
  5. Those adapters will work with sync 3. what exactly are you trying to connect? There may be other options. Here is a comprehensive discussion on options from the f150 forum. https://www.f150forum.com/f118/no-longer-have-3-5mm-line-now-what-do-i-do-350965/index10/
  6. Exactly. It's the fans. Very common problem.
  7. No but there are different ones for AWD vs FWD. This might help:
  8. In that case it's almost certainly the fans. With the engine running put A/C on Max and both fans should be on. If not replace the fan and controller as a unit with Motorcraft parts (not Dorman).
  9. Do they still have the red dots where the physical door locks used to be?

    Bluetooth

Do you have a 2019 ST or something else? What exactly are you trying to do?
  11. It's possible the "B" version is the base version and doesn't support the rear speakers. Whereas the "E" version does. DSP may only be testing the amplifier connection which is fine but the head unit may not be putting out a signal.
  12. Dropping the tank might be the only way. How much is in it now? If it's a half tank or less you might be able to fill it up with pure gasoline and dilute it enough to get by and do it again at 3/4 tank. But use pure gasoline not E10. Octane isn't the problem - ethanol has a lot higher octane than E-10.
  13. The clutch on the rear diff is electronically engaged via the solenoid when rear torque is needed. I'm not sure if anything else in the FWD drivetrain is connected to the PTU. If not then removing the gears and driveshaft seems like it would work. But if you're going to do that much work why not put in a new PTU yourself, add a drain and change the fluid regularly? Should be a lot less than $1500.
  14. You can’t change the factory code - only add additional codes. You need 2 keys anyway - go get another one and you can get the factory code.

    Mustang SUV

It is not based on any existing vehicle platform - it’s a new dedicated BEV platform. Expect sub 4 second 0-60 performance with handling to match.
  16. Of course not. That defeats the purpose, which is to prevent someone unauthorized (a valet, a mechanic, a thief who has one key) from making a duplicate fob. Only the owner would have two different fobs so that makes it reasonably sure that you're the owner or at least authorized to make a 3rd fob.
  17. Is the FCA in auto mode or manual mode? Is the edge in Sport mode auto?
  18. No way around paying a dealer or a locksmith with a Ford diagnostic computer.
  19. Actually it engages the brake on the spinning wheel AND cuts torque if necessary.
  20. It’s not a defect and not a safety issue. That’s just how the transmission functionality was designed and that’s exactly what Ford will say - because it’s the truth.
  21. Probably needs an alignment and/or shocks.
  22. What exactly do you mean by shredding?
  23. You’re assuming the original 9 speed design was optimal and Ford engineers (who worked with GM on the design) don’t know what they’re doing. Number of gears has nothing to do with harsh engagements from a stop which is the current complaint on the 2.0L vehicles with the 8f35. No shifting issues.
  24. Why would you say it’s jury rigged? They tested the 9 speed and found issues so they removed a gear. Each company does their own software. GM has also had problems with their 9 speed. Removing a gear wasn’t the problem.
  25. Probably a combination of losing experienced engineers and diverting resources to work on autonomous vehicles and hybrids/BEVs and other new things. Very disappointing.
