  1. It doesn’t void the warranty and it’s only a problem if you destroyed the engine or transmission due to over revving or over torquing neither of which should happen with a reputable tune. The main thing it does is advance the timing so you have to run higher octane fuel to compensate.
  2. Why haven't you replaced the battery? Once it goes bad it rarely recovers. And it's not Ford. Modern vehicles eat batteries and a lot of the old style testers will say it's ok when it's not. Just replace it and get the door issue fixed.
  3. RTFM is much more succint. I've been using it since I started using Unix systems back in the mid 80s where everything had a manual page.
  4. Regardless of mileage, it’s 12 yrs old. Struts don’t last forever. But by all means don’t buy any more Fords because struts last forever on other brands.
  5. Not sure but it’s easy to test - just use the phone by itself with Waze, Apple Maps or Google Maps. one thing to keep in mind is the built in Nav has older maps and a lot of the speed limits are no longer correct.
  6. Easier to just use Waze with applink or google maps with CarPlay or android auto.
  7. But the tranny is based on the old 6f55 with 2 more gears and even more torque capacity (8F57) so I doubt that power is an issue. The software is completely different so that’s a challenge for the tuners for sure.
  8. It’s fine. Nothing to be worried about.
  9. Better to use a tablet or portable dvd. It doesn’t matter if the passenger is watching it - the driver can still see it.
  10. Sure. I wouldn't make it a habit of it though.
  11. He wasn't moving. He opened the door to see the curb while stopped. It won't do any shifts that would damage the transmission. That's the benefit of a fully electronically controlled transmission.
  12. Well if they used the 10 speed then it would be sticking out of the drivers wheel well because that’s a RWD tranny.
  13. You need to check the PCM codes first.
  14. Well if they diagnosed it as a bad BCM but that didn’t fix the problem then they screwed up.
  15. That is a possibility but it's still not covered outside of the factory warranty. And CPO warranties usually don't cover glass.
  16. Take it back and don’t accept it until everything works correctly. They screwed up they should fix it.
  17. Happens all the time on all vehicles. The impact could have occurred a month ago or 2-3 years ago. Hard to say it was a factory defect on a 2015 vehicle - some type of impact is far more likely which is why mfrs don't cover it. That's why you have comprehensive insurance. Some even waive the deductible.
  18. You are buying a used car. It just so happens it's the one you've been driving for the last 3 years but it's still a used car purchase because Ford Credit owns it right now.
  19. Try a soft reboot (I think you hold the volume and right seek (next track) button for a few seconds (>>!). Nav should work after that (or it may work on next vehicle startup but this is a common issue with sync3 updates.
  20. In the US that only works with Sirius travel link.
  21. Leave it in place. It helps with aerodynamics.
  22. You should be able to find a dealer to just do the programming. You must have a Ford IDS or equivalent.
