  1. The vehicle has to be running and it has to be in Drive or Reverse for the DRLs to activate. They don't activate in Park or with the engine off.
  2. If you mean the Mustang Mach E - it doesn't have a transmission. If you mean the SEMA concept Mustang Lithium with a manual transmission - that was just a concept vehicle not meant for production. BTW Porsche does put a 2 speed tranny in the Taycan.
  3. That sounds like the blend door actuator - the motor that moves the flap that chooses cold air or hot air.
  4. Also remember that the rear isn’t directly connected to the transmission. I’m sure the engagement of the rear diff solenoid buffers at least some of the torque.
  5. If it’s only on one side it’s either the blend door actuator or the controller. I would not let them touch it if they said it was the evaporator.
  6. You should not only check the mirror visually before changing lanes you should still turn your head and glance just to be extra safe.
  7. I think the longer axle can twist more and absorb the initial torque without breaking. Just a guess though.
  8. You just said you go one year between changes and you weren't sure the filter would last that long, so 6 months should be fine. Actually I think the motorcraft filter is just fine for normal oil change intervals anyway. Not sure why people spend so much time looking for something else if motorcraft works just fine. You're not getting better performance.
  9. Why not change it twice per year if you’re concerned about longevity?
  10. Ford’s AWD can send almost 100% of the power to the rear wheels for short periods. Also Ford doesn’t use a center diff - it electronically engages the rear diff via an electronic clutch. Otherwise pretty much correct.
  11. We had a 2008 Edge and now a 2016 MKX. I used to drive Rangers but switched to cars for 20 years before I bought my 2018 F150. The only issue you might have is that the seat is much smaller in the Edge (also the steering wheel). It feels strange moving from the F150 to the Edge but you get used to it. I would suggest an extended test drive but otherwise it's a great vehicle.
  12. If it bothers you that much go trade it.
  13. Nobody is defending the design, we're just explaining why it was done. Change the coolant every 30K - 60K miles and you'll greatly reduce the chances of a failure. Ford has conservatively sold close to 2 million of these particular engines since 2006. The actual failure rate is pretty low.
  14. I already tried explaining this, but he would rather just believe the engineers are stupid.
  15. I would suspect a bad electrical connection to the motor. Metal shrinks when it’s cold and loses connection. Just take it back to the dealer when it’s going to be sub freezing overnight.
  16. The pump is designed to last 150k miles just like all the other parts. I personally know of at least 2 Edges with between 250k and 300k miles on the original water pump. But you can believe whatever you want to believe.
  17. Many companies use the same water pump design. The problem was the seals not the pump location. And it was designed to replace the 3.0L Duratec V6 in multiple vehicles. I'm sure there are a dozen valid reasons why they didn't make it external. They didn't just do it because they're stupid.
  18. Oops yes I thought we were talking about the 8F35.
  19. Talk to GM - they did the initial design. In fact the GM version has 9 speeds - Ford already removed one gear.

And your insistence that this innocuous data is being sold to advertisers is just as offensive so how about you unwad your panties, take a deep breath and let’s start over.
  21. You have to click on the trash can in the lower right of the thumbnail below the post in the editor.
  22. Well first you have to create the playlist file. Did you do that?
  23. The temperature is your desired temperature just like your home thermostat. It adjusts the air temp and fan setting as needed to get to and maintain the desired temp. It’s working as designed.
  24. Press the voice button. “Play playlist xyz.” couldn’t be simpler.
