  1. I just changed the battery on our 2016 MKX (4.5 years - a record for us!). I didn’t do anything and everything works as before. Did not have to do anything. The battery was out for over 1 hour.
  2. It's a holdover name from the snow belt - a room where you can sit and take off your muddy/wet boots and store your coats, scarves, etc. before entering the main house. Ours is next to the garage. Very handy.
  3. Hey now, real men watch HGTV too! And we complain about how none of the home improvement shows are as good as This Old House and the contractors can't compare to Tom Silva!
  4. Why carry two all the time? I leave both in the mud room and only grab one at a time and keep it in my pocket?
  5. Good for you control freaks.......
  6. They’re sold together as a unit and it’s safer to just replace both.
  7. Agreed. Political comments deleted.
  8. All a plug in chip can do is fool some sensors and sometimes trick the engine into performing better. It can only change one or two things. A tuner changes the software and can adjust hundreds of things including fuel ratio, timing, transmission shifts, etc.
  9. You get what you pay for. Don’t bother with anything other than a tuner.
  10. Thanks for letting us know. If you don’t want MyKey why did you turn it on? The locks aren’t supposed to unlock when you shift into park. Only when you open the door and only if you have that option turned on.
  11. Almost as annoying as people who complain about it without even trying it.
  12. Word of caution. NEVER assume a new part is always good. I’ve seen brand new batteries, cooling fans and alternators along with other parts be bad out of the box.
  13. I also recommend a C-Tek smart charger/reconditioner to go with the BA-7. Throw it on once a month and keep the battery topped up. Recondition if it starts to get bad.
  14. First things first. How old is the battery and how do you know it’s good?
  15. Voltage means nothing. You need to test the CCAs compared to new. The old style load/voltage testers are worthless. Buy a Solar BA-7 or equivalent tester.
  16. If the battery is more than 3 years old just replace it.
  17. Trick question? Replace the fans with Motorcraft parts NOT Dorman or other aftermarket brands they are crap. Do a search for more details and procedures.
  18. ESPs are never bumper to bumper. The plan explicitly details what is and isn't covered. Always read the coverage on any warranty.
  19. It’s really not going to make a difference in power.
  20. Of course only use the impact to remove and snug up the lug nuts. Tighten with an accurate torque wrench.
  21. Bought this one a few months ago. Breaks loose my 150 lb/ft f150 lug nuts without even trying hard. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007NVSQSC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  22. Standard on limited 302A which also includes BLIS and adaptive cruise. It should also appear in the settings menu to turn them off and on.
