  1. According to the order guide it’s not included with the base 400a pkg and when I do build and price it shows it as part of the 401a package.
  2. Much safer and easier to use voice control and/or create playlists for easy reference.
  3. For me, the fact that the OEM filter backs up a 5 yr 60k mile warranty and the other ones don’t mean I’m not taking a chance.
  4. Is it causing major driving issues? If not I wouldn't worry about it. And if it is I would make the dealer do it.
  5. Help me understand why a performance filter is better with 7500 mile or less intervals. Filter performance is the same until it goes into bypass, right? If it’s good at 3500 miles it’s still good at 7500 and I don’t see how it would go into bypass u less the engine was coming apart.
  6. That’s because the dealers are just as clueless. Just look up any reference that a Ford makes to adaptive learning. None mention driving style or driving habits. They only say improved shift quality. My information comes from Mark Kovalsky - a retired Ford tranny engineer who worked on the Explorer/Ranger/Lincoln LS 5R55N and later the torqshift truck tranny. He is a member of our Lincoln LS owners club for 20 years now. It was his group that was responsible for the shift calibrations and that is how he explained it. I’ll take his word and Ford’s word over the dealership. Here is a confirmation about the torqshift but all Ford trannys work the same.
  7. Because it DOESNT LEARN YOUR DRIVING HABITS! Sorry for yelling but this is an urban myth that just won’t go away. Nowhere has Ford ever said that. Read what Ford said - it simply measures each shift against the factory target and adjusts the shift pressure to keep it in the target range. This compensates for wear over time and manufacturing tolerances. And it’s based on gear, throttle position and rpm. So it takes a long time for normal driving to hit all of those different combinations.
  8. The transmission is 100% computer controlled. It won’t do anything that could cause damage.
  9. Hard to say with contract negotiations going on, but I think it’s likely it will stay there unless they decide to use Oakville for trucks/suvs.
  10. C2 is the new fwd/AWD platform. Currently used for escape/kuga, Bronco sport, focus and coming soon to Mondeo and fusion active. C6 is the RWD Explorer platform. There was some talk about using it for edge and nautilus but C2 won out for now.
  11. The current CD4 platform is going away just like Fusion and MKZ and Continental. A new edge and Nautilus are in development reportedly on the C2 platform which is just a newer more flexible cd4. There are also 2 new midsized BEVs in development.
  12. That’s only true for E85 or E30 (which is made by mixing E10 and E85 ) because E85 has a much higher octane rating (100+). with E10 the octane has already been adjusted so there is no benefit. Ethanol actually has less energy which is why without tuning e85 yields about 25% less mpg. With E0 you’ll see a bit more power and slightly better fuel economy compared to E10 but not enough to justify the higher price.
  13. I just changed the battery on our 2016 MKX (4.5 years - a record for us!). I didn’t do anything and everything works as before. Did not have to do anything. The battery was out for over 1 hour.
  14. It's a holdover name from the snow belt - a room where you can sit and take off your muddy/wet boots and store your coats, scarves, etc. before entering the main house. Ours is next to the garage. Very handy.
  15. Hey now, real men watch HGTV too! And we complain about how none of the home improvement shows are as good as This Old House and the contractors can't compare to Tom Silva!
  16. Why carry two all the time? I leave both in the mud room and only grab one at a time and keep it in my pocket?
  17. Good for you control freaks.......
