  1. It’s not unsafe to drive - you just lose stability control. This is why you always get Ford esps so you don’t get caught in the middle. Either the sensor is a separate part or not or Ford has a TSB saying to replace the entire rack. Sounds like your dealer isn’t the best.
  2. Prolonged overfilling of the fuel tank combined with the failed purge valve causes the canister to fill up with fuel.
  3. Purge valve or canister. Very common. Search here or google it.
  4. I’ll be sure you get a 100% refund........

  6. Add the certificate and it won’t prompt you again.
  7. That’s theft, plain and simple. Ford has to pay for those updates and you want to steal it for free?
  8. It’s a setting somewhere. They get messed up every time they do an upgrade. I’ve asked about it but it has yet to be fixed. Even the moderators can’t delete anything - only hide it.
  9. 2.5 years or 30k miles if you are obsessive compulsive about it.
  10. If the wrench light is on there has to be a code somewhere.
  11. Aftermarket tunes can change the shift characteristics but who knows if it’s better or worse. Depends on where the problem is. I don’t have any inside track on a TSBs. Someone will usually post them here.
  12. That’s a common misconception. Ford transmissions don’t learn driving habits. They check each shift and compare it to factory spec. If it’s out of spec it adjusts the pressure for the next shift. This is by gear, rpm and throttle position.
  13. Some vehicles up shift at redline, others don’t. My 2000 Lincoln LS was the first selectshift vehicle and it would just bounce off the rev limiter. It’s not consistent from vehicle to vehicle.
  14. It’s not intended to be used all the time like a manual. It just allows you to hold a higher or lower gear for better performance or better mpg or as just stated to reduce brake use especially when descending long mountain roads.
  15. Why are you swapping parts without reading the codes first? Could be the throttle body.
  16. It’s easier to buy a set of winter tires and wheels for 2 reasons - you can change wheel sizes and get more/cheaper tire options and you save your original wheels from damage. And it’s easier to swap them out yourself.

Probably just a smaller version. I don't think it's going with the Explorer/Escape floating tablet but it's possible.

Rumor is it gets the larger screen from the Chinese edge but I’ve seen no confirmation of that anywhere.
  19. Make sure it has the SN plus rating. That’s required for ecoboost engines. I like Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic.
  20. Oh please don’t get your panties in a wad and play the “ moderator is picking on me” card. It sounded like you were arguing with the advice we gave.so maybe it was just the way you worded it. It’s all good.
  21. So you drive on ice but never in snow? The wider contact patch is worse in snow. But you obviously know more that we do so enjoy your purchase.
  22. I’ll pay double somewhere else before I spend a penny at Wal-Mart. Their business practices are atrocious.
  23. Both todd92 and Waldo are correct. And you’ll have to trust me when I tell you that Waldo is an expert on tires, suspension and vehicle handling. You need winter tires for ice traction and narrower tires for snow.
