I'm guessing it's a different version of the tranny and Mercon LV is the simplest way to identify that version.

Navigation removed after Sync2-V3.8 update

Exactly. If you're offering customers self-service downloads and that screws up then it should be fixed at no charge. -
Navigation removed after Sync2-V3.8 update

This is a new area for Ford where they are providing software and the update process. I think they need to modify their warranty policy to include unlimited coverage for software updates. -
Dealer messed up sale of 2016 Edge Sport
akirby replied to Deadpool_25's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Only if they drove it from California....... (it was 3177 miles, not 200) -
Some dealers are able to lock in the incentives at the time you order a vehicle. It's called the incentive protection program and i've never seen confirmation of which dealers can do this or if they can all do it, but it's worth asking. And it doesn't matter how the vehicle is obtained - it can be leased. You're right about incurring transport costs if the vehicle is far away. You also have the option of buying it from the remote dealer and driving it back. I just checked the online dealer inventory where you can go out to 100 miles and there are over 100 AWD Titaniums available. The first one I clicked on was a red one at Jack Byrne Ford and it has 302A and the DA package. Have your local dealer do a search - I bet you can find one.

Ford has an option to let them find a vehicle for you. It's the first screen on the build and price. Won't hurt to see if they can identify one in your area or in the queue.

$3.99/month for traffic, $1.99/month for travel link I think only the MKX gets the 5 yr free travel link.

The problem is retail (sold) orders aren't built until the ok to buy is given which can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, although in this case I would expect it to only be a few days. So it wouldn't be built until first week of November at the very earliest (and later if there are any delays of any kind). Another option is to get a dealer to order a stock vehicle the way you want it. Those get built first - however they're also held for inspection and might need repairs and could end up being delayed longer than the retail orders. Have you checked to see if a dealer has an order already in queue that they can change for you? Have you let the dealer search for the one you want? They can do a wider search than the one you can do yourself online. Also one might show up between now and November. I think January would be a safe bet for a 2017 if you can wait that long. But even that's not guaranteed.

2015 Edge Sport Towing
akirby replied to built2prfctn's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
He was talking about the IDS programming that only the dealer has access to. I did get my trailer wires fixed. It was a weak ground - just enough to set off the continuity tester but not enough to power the module properly. Relocated the ground screw and it works perfectly now. -
More like January. Maybe late December.

2015 Edge Sport Towing
akirby replied to built2prfctn's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
After doing more testing and research I think I just have a weak ground. I tried using an existing screw behind the taillight - I'll relocate it and see what happens. -
2015 Edge Sport Towing

I understand that it's not hot all the time and when I've done my testing I made sure the engine was running. I also tested the outlet with a phone charger that has a light to make sure it was powered. So that's not the problem. Since I'm only towing a small utility trailer every once in awhile this shouldn't be a problem. My module already had the separate red wire but I didn't hook it up to anything because the instructions didn't call for it (unless I overlooked it). Interestingly when I first hooked it up to the trailer the brakes and turn signals worked fine. I'm going to try resetting the power to the module first and I'll check with Curt about the red wire. Thanks for the info. -
The 12 speaker Revel system, not the 19 speaker Revel system.

2015 Edge Sport Towing

I'm having problems getting my Curt harness to work. I did wire it into the 12V outlet in the rear. It worked at first when I tested it with the multimeter and later when I hooked up the trailer the brake and turn signals worked but not the taillamps. I did some troubleshooting with the trailer wiring and thought everything was ok (trailer is new also) but when I tested it yesterday nothing worked and now I'm not getting voltage on the taillamp lead either and the brake and turn signals don't work. I may just disconnect power to reset the module. This is driving me crazy. -
Sync 3 2016 upgrade to CarPlay
akirby replied to tpm419419's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Accessory Protocol Interface Module - it's the sync brain. -
I like it for traveling also and I've come to despise local FM because of the commercials. The sound quality never bothered me on previous vehicles, but with the smaller Revel system in the MKX the sound difference is enormous compared to mp3s or cds.

You can get mostly music for $10.99/month or a la carts for $7.99 but only for certain radios ( not sure if that applies to ford vehicles). If you already have a subscription they sometimes offer a lower price if you threaten to cancel.

I believe the alternator output is variable and controlled by the PCM so it might be normal.

Question for Todd, Our Ford Service Rep.
akirby replied to Larry's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
The Ford reps are no longer here. You can reach them on twitter @FordService or on Facebook. The extended warranty should cover it if you're still eligible based on time and/or mileage. Doesn't matter if you're the original owner. -
OP has a 2011. Oops - OP hasn't updated their signature. But that is a good clarification. The horn beep is telling you that you left the vehicle running without a fob. E.g. if you had the only fob in your pocket and your wife dropped you off somewhere and drove off, when she got to her destination and turned off the vehicle she would not be able to restart it (after 30 seconds or so at least). It has nothing to do with the door locks.

I thought they changed map vendors too.....

If those don't work you'll have to take it to the dealer.
