  1. The keypad won't help you if you walk away with the only fob in your pocket and someone else drives away. I thought someone said this was about to be a nhtsa requirement for all vehicles within a couple of years. It's really not that big of a deal - turn off the engine, leave the door open or leave the fob in the vehicle.
  2. If you're buying a new one why not just buy one that's guaranteed to work with the Edge?
  3. I bet they have no idea how many miles you put on a vehicle in 3 years. That's like a 9 year warranty for normal people.
  4. They have absolutely shared it with dealers including updates that may have occurred since these dates were originally released. A dealer who says they have no idea is either ignorant or lying.
  5. Or the obvious solution - buy a new house with a garage you can park in. Problem solved. You guys are overthinking this......
  6. They might but be aware of you have remote start that gives you a red or green light it's bi directional and adding that key to another vehicle will disable it for the original vehicle. I now have only one working key for my Fusion when I tried to do that on the MKX.
  7. If you use the remote start you don't have to even open the door before you start clearing the snow.
  8. That doesn't count. Now knock it off.

    Hit and Run Driver

What junehhan said. Go the to police chief or sheriff directly and if that fails go to the Mayor or County board. They're not even trying.
  10. Seriously people - if you type "breaks" one more time I'm locking the thread.
  11. Sometimes I can't catch a break either.

    Hit and Run Driver

That's BS on the cops part.
  13. It's probably a phone setting. On the iphone you go into the sync bluetooth connection and you have to enable notifications.
  14. When I said aftermarket I meant not factory installed. If it was a factory cover they would have used cheap steel wheels behind it, not alloys. It looks like these - maybe Ford sells a Ford branded version but they're definitely not factory wheels. https://www.wheelcovers.com/products/ford-edge-chrome-wheel-skins-hubcaps-wheel-covers-17-3672-2007-2008-2009-2010.html
  15. They weren't epoxied onto the wheel? In that case they aren't the chrome clad wheels and they would not have come from the factory like that. Looks like a standard factory wheel with an aftermarket hubcap.
  16. There is absolutely no danger of engine damage with 87 octane. Remember these engines were designed with boost from the get go. You're not adding a turbo to a NA engine that wasn't designed for it. They've accounted for all of that with the compression ratio and spark advance settings.
  17. Going from my Fusion 2.0EB to the MKX 3.7L I really really really really miss the low end torque. Wife couldn't care less she drives like a grandma.
  18. Tireack.com has wheel and tire packages for comparison purposes.
  19. They're not hubcaps. Prior to the PVD process which is now being used several mfrs tried chrome plating a plastic substrate epoxied to a regular wheel. The advantage was a chrome finish that was lighter than a chromed steel wheel and it would not pit or corrode over time. Unfortunately it was next to impossible to repair. PVD is better so it looks like Chrome clad is a thing of the past.
  20. The JD Power survey is for 2013 vehicles and 2013 was a terrible year for Ford. Fusion and MKZ were all new and had lots of problems although none serious. Focus and Escape were only a year old on their new platform and also had some issues. MFT was still having some stability issues. They're still having too many issues - throttle bodies, vista roofs, door latches, ptus, etc. but they're a lot closer to average now not dead last.
  21. Also the interior door lock button will not allow the vehicle to lock if there is a fob inside. So you can't lock the fob inside the vehicle unless you have a second fob or you have the keypad code and use the keypad. So the valet can't do it. Either way make sure you have your own code programmed for the keypad or remember the factory code so if it ever does happen you can unlock the door immediately. You are never locked out with a keypad.
  22. Usually not until the new ones hit the dealer lots, although since the changes are minimal it might be sooner. You may be able to see the new colors on other 2017 models that are already out.
  23. It honks after 2-3 feet. Remember the sensor is in the center console, not the door. Just don't close the door all the way when you get out and it won't honk.
