  1. I test drove a platinum Edge with heated and cooled seats and I don't remember anything uncomfortable about them. Are you sure yours aren't defective? If not then it must just be a personal issue. There are some complaints about the seat bottoms not being big enough and the cooling not working but don't recall any about that particular problem.
  2. The ford online tracking system doesn't work most of the time - I don't think it ever made it out of beta test mode.
  3. Sorry to hear that - definitely sounds like you need a new dealer. And there's nothing wrong with a factual first post about a problem you're having right now. Good luck.
  4. Pulling the fuse or battery cable to reset everything is worth a shot.
  5. I have a great salesman at our neighborhood Ford/Lincoln dealer. Great guy, knows I have X plan so basically I just tell him what I want and he gets it. Took our 14 escape in to fix the steering wheel audio controls and a bad moonroof motor. This was on a Monday. Said they had to order moonroof motor. Friday the parts still weren't in so they gave us a loaner RAV4 (yippee). It took them another week to get it fixed. I picked it up and noticed right away that they installed the wrong button on the steering wheel - AND it still didn't work. They didn't even test it after having it for 2 weeks. I called the owner and left him a message. They came to the house, picked it up, left a loaner and brought it back the next day working with the right button. We bought our MKX from another dealership. I can accept an honest mistake but not sheer incompetence.
  6. Purge valve or cannister or vent issue.
  7. My 06 Fusion was bulletproof for 7 years. 08 Edge only had one or two minor problems. 13 Fusion had several issues but none the last 18 months. 12 Focus (daughter's car) had a bad TCM and a flaky DCT trans before we traded it. I like Fords too much to really change (outside of a Porsche maybe) but it's getting harder to recommend them to others.
  8. I've seen it a few times on various vehicles but never more than a minute or two. I wouldn't be concerned unless it happens again for an extended period. If it does you should be able to pull the fuse or the negative battery cable to reset it.
  9. I think Ford is either using the wrong suppliers or cutting the contracts too thin - either way they're getting way too many bad parts the last several years. From gas tanks to throttle bodies to headlights to transmission sensors to door latches. I thought the problems were mostly due to a lot of new platforms and european based suppliers and/or designs but they've have more than enough time to fix that kind of stuff.
  10. I'd say that's a good possibility if you didn't get any other software updates in the meantime.
  11. As long as we're piling on, it's Nazis (plural) not Nazi's (possessive).
  12. Voltage isn't the whole story. What are the symptoms exactly?
  13. I've never had a bit of rust on any of my Fords for the last 25 years. Then again we don't get snow, ice and salt in the wintertime. Any vehicle is going to rust in those conditions without proper maintenance/cleaning.
  14. A terabyte here, a terabyte there - pretty soon you're talking about a lot of storage.......
  15. I try to grab breaks whenever I can, but sometimes I'm too busy to take a break and have to keep working. (sorry - that is my #1 pet peeve)
  16. There is one for each side. Do a forum search - there should be several threads with details.
  17. There should be a menu setting for driver's door or all unlock. I don't recall 2 stage unlock ever working with the door handle.
  18. That's how I thought it worked but didn't have the exact details. Great video.
  19. You need to clarify if you have MFT (sync 2) or Sync 3. If it does it consistently with that address then it's probably a map issue. If it only does it randomly then it's probably a software issue. You could try a master reset.
  20. Also when this happens it's not catastrophic, so waiting for it to fail then replacing it under warranty is ok. As opposed to the latches that actually fail causing the door to potentially fly open while driving - that necessitates a recall to replace the latches before they fail.
  21. There has to be some loss of light output unless you added more bulbs or switched to brighter bulbs. It may not be significant if the OEM lights are bright enough to start with.
  22. I have not seen anything that links it to oil consumption, nor does it make sense. Do you have a link? If it's a recall there is no mileage limit.
  23. Agreed if there is an impact to latch strength, but I would think if that was the case Ford would have already recalled it along with the others. That shouldn't be hard to figure out by testing latches with failed sensors.
