  1. First, it's brakes, not breaks. Sorry - huge pet peeve. Second, it's a 3.5L and the factory tow limit with the towing package is 3500 so you'd be real close. I think you'll be ok if you add the trans cooler and larger radiator. They don't increase the tow capacity but they'll prevent you from cooking the transmission. Might be smarter to find a used F150 or Explorer so you're not that close to the limit.
  2. i think it's the official release but is only available to dealers right now. I assume they're waiting on the new hubs to make it generally available.
  3. Fordpass only connects to vehicles with sync 3 connect as you figured out. It's also offered on the 2016+ MKX via the Lincoln Mobile app.
  4. Does your Edge have sync connect with the modem?
  5. The only downside of the 3.5 is that the water pump can fail and it's internal to the engine - expensive repair. I agree the gas mileage will be similar but you get a lot more torque off the line with the ecoboost.
  6. It doesn't matter if they're in the top of the door or the a pillar - point is they're separate. It would be better to use the crossover from the new speakers but to do that you need a full range input. If the head unit is doing the filtering then you don't have a full range signal going to either door speaker. That's why I suggested just using the stock setup. But I don't know for sure if that's the case with the new Edge. One way to tell for sure is to disconnect the mid bass speaker and see of the tweeter keeps working.
  7. Outside of maybe the Ford GT, all Fords leave the factory with synthetic blend motor craft.
  8. In my 06 Fusion there was a crossover built into the 6.5" driver which then fed the tweeter so it was easy to use the crossover that came with the Polk Audio components. If it really has separate wires from the head unit then they must already be filtered so I'd just reuse them and skip the crossover.
  9. Try calling Apple and asking for a firm date on the next IOS release. They're obviously still fixing bugs and they'll release it when it's ready. I know it's frustrating - I deal with it every day. Would you rather have it on a specific date with major bugs?
  10. When were the spark plugs changed? That would be my first guess. Check out macbwt's posts - he's put more miles and done more maintenance on these vehicles than anybody else.
  11. Why did your engine break? Were you able to fix it?
  12. There are multiple problems requiring different parts to be replaced including the steering wheel itself.
  13. More likely that a 2012 or earlier Fusion seat would fit since that's the same platform. 2013 Fusion is on CD4 same as the 2015+ Edge. But it is possible the 2013 would also fit.
  14. The F150 does not have the vista roof. It is considerably heavier than a normal moonroof and the normal pinch sensors used to detect an obstruction don't work so they don't allow auto-close.
  15. Warranties mean nothing about reliability - they're just insurance policies. Honda is one of the best but only offers 3 yr/36k mile warranty. Hyundai was one of the worst when they offered 10 yr/100k mile warranties. Do you really think Hyundai 10 years ago was better than Honda? Of course not - the extra warranty just adds to the cost of the vehicle. Ford could easily offer 7/100k standard warranty but they would have to increase the cost of the vehicles by $1k or more. And that goes for every mfr not just Ford. Since a lot of people don't want to pay extra for that coverage (especially of you're leasing) they make it optional. The point is the buyer pays for warranty coverage either way - whether it's standard or optional. That's not opinion that's fact.
  16. Does it show up in sync as a phone call? Seems like it would be like any other app.
  17. Very disappointing that Ford and the Edge in particular has had so many serious issues the last few years.
  18. So they're charging $38,123 before tax and rebates and that's below invoice. Looks like there is an extra $1k in rebates too. That looks like a great price if they don't try to add anything other than licensing. Pretty sure that $5250 includes the extra $500 already.
  19. Can you post a picture of that written offer? If it actually says $8K in factory rebates then I call Shenanigans.
  20. X plan is $39,118. Minus $4250 incentives accordingly to the dealer website puts you at $34,868. 7% tax puts you at $37,309. $36,208 out the door is a very good price for that vehicle assuming no trade-in.
  21. I gave some advice in the other topic, but we need more info. Who is the dealer and what is the zip code? Which model Edge (SEL, Titanium, etc.)? What color (some have extra charges)? If you're looking at a specific vehicle what is the last 4 digits of the VIN number? You can look up the vehicles online at ford.com to find the one you like, then we can give you the exact price range you should expect.
