  1. It's not the same problem as the 2015s. Are there signs that it's been leaking for a long time - mildew, etc.? It's always possible someone left a window open. If not then try another mechanic. It shouldn't be hard to find the source of a leak.
  2. Welcome to 2017. You're lucky to get 4 years out of a battery, OEM or aftermarket. I usually get 3-3.5 tops. $125 every 3-4 years isn't a big deal.
  3. A lot of devices have their own intelligence - makes it easier to update/make changes. E.g. the radio has its own accessory delay timer which means it can also be programmed to turn on by itself when the ignition is off. Decentralization.
  4. Go to the Sync bluetooth connection on your iphone and click on it (I forgot if there is an icon to click or you just click the name). You should see an options for Notifications - turn it back on. You might need to stop and restart the vehicle and/or re-pair the phone.
  5. It seems you might be able to just get a new 7 pin to replace the 4 pin plug - trace the 4 pin back to where it plugs into the vehicle wiring. If not you can get a 7 pin that plugs into the 4 pin and has 3 separate wires you can connect yourself.
  6. Could be. Just keep an eye on it. A few times won't hurt it.
  7. Technically that's true but the question is how the unburnt fuel made it out of the combustion chamber. Could be an isolated event but if it happens again especially after it sits for an extended time I would get the injectors checked.
  8. In that case I would guess it's a leaky injector. As the car sits it leaks fuel into the cylinder which then burns off when you start it. Should be easy for a shop to diagnose or you can probably find youtube videos on a DIY diagnosis procedure. Should not be too expensive to replace the injector once it's identified.
  9. Blue smoke is typically oil which could indicate a piston ring problem. Could it have been black instead? That would be fuel and could just mean a leaky injector.
  10. There is a manual override to shift into neutral - instructions are in the owners manual.
  11. Please don't smoke the taillights unless you compensate with a brighter bulb. I've seen some that were barely visible at night and completely invisible during the daytime. It's just not safe.
  12. Excellent! Can you create a new topic with this info so I can put it in the appropriate forum and pin it?
  13. It's possible but this usually comes down to different versions of the bluetooth standard and how each side has implemented it. Perhaps Ford is on a later version using newer features and the others are using a simpler and/or older version. It's not usually black and white, especially since Sync 3 seems to be working fine with other phones.
  14. I hear what you're saying but if the nail is close enough to the sidewall to hit it then it's not repairable anyway.
  15. Probably more accurate to say Android has challenges with sync. They all use the same Bluetooth standard so if Apple works and Android doesn't blame Android.
  16. I guess that won't work if the routes are close together. But if you know the roads you want to take then why do you need nav? You could always store the address and pull it back up when you get close to the destination. I'm not saying it wouldn't be better to have more route flexibility, just trying to find a workable solution since they're probably not going to change the software.
  17. Use waypoints. Enter the destination and start guidance. Enter the intersection you know you want to take as a new destination and choose set as waypoint. You can have multiple waypoints.
  18. Big Ass Moon Roof. It's a technical engineering term.
  19. In that case I agree it would be wise to have them balanced first. I missed the steering wheel shake.
  20. Balancing doesn't normally fix noise. You should be able to sell them pretty easily.
  21. With auto CC you can just leave it on and set the temp accordingly. If the inside is the same temp as the outside it won't really do anything.
  22. I'm not sure it would be worth the trouble or that you would notice the difference.
  23. I hope almost all owners are using them when descending a steep grade, otherwise they're cooking the brakes. Outside of that I've found it mostly useful for downshifting prior to accelerating to pass. I had one of the first selectshift Ford vehicles - a 2000 Lincoln LS. It was more of a novelty back then but the pros and cons are still basically the same.
