I think he meant that he has also experienced the type of alternator failure you described.

SYNC 3 and CarPlay/Android Auto Information
akirby replied to jmr061's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Are you having a problem or you're just upset that it says 1.0 instead of 2.2? Why not update it yourself if you're that concerned about it? -
Depends on whether you need better efficiency or less pressure drop. Will it really make a difference over the life of the vehicle? Or is it overkill? are you saying you can't get 200k or 300k with motorcraft filters and regular oil changes?

If you post here you're inviting opinions. You're free to ignore them of course.

Front seat not comfortable for short people

Now you're thinking outside the box! -
There is no reason to keep RPM below 4K. When the vehicle rolls off the assembly line they go WOT on the dyno. And if you want the round tach then you can use the round tach. I don't see the issue.

I think the weight of the larger tires and wheels will cause problems with the drivetrain components. Might be better to go with some flashy wheels and standard 21" or 22" tires.

What grade of fuel are you using? (2.7L EcoBoost)
akirby replied to Burrcold's topic in 2.7L EcoBoost
Higher octane and advanced timing extends peak torque higher in the RPM range which results in more HP. -
In a manual transmission sports car, sure. You need to clearly see the tach for shifting. But this is an automatic where 99.99% of owners don't need or want or ever look at a tachometer in the first place. For these vehicles the vertical design is just fine. And you're completely ignoring the availability of the round tachometer.

I'm denying it. You're trying to make it an objective truth when it still comes down to personal preference.

It's impossible to build a seat that fits every driver. -
No difference at all, because the whole purpose of the MAF is that it senses the amount of air entering the engine - period. You can put a cloth diaper in the airbox and it will adjust to it just fine and won't affect fuel economy. The MAF senses that actual amount of air (and therefore oxygen) entering the engine and the computer adjusts the fuel to match. You'll get a bit less power but it won't affect fuel economy. Edit: after re-reading your comment you acknowledge that the system will reduce fuel to accommodate the lower volume of air which is correct. However, that will result in the correct A/F ratio and will not create a lean condition. If it did not adjust to the restricted airflow you would see a rich condition because the system would not know that it needed to reduce the amount of fuel - which is what happens in a carbureted system.

Under what circumstance in your automatic transmission vehicle do you need detailed tachometer information in the first place? Even if you're using the paddles it won't over-rev past redline. Don't you also have the option of a round tachometer?

Running E30 is dangerous unless it's a flex fuel capable engine that can run on E-85. It will eat the fuel lines and other components. There is a reason they cap it at E-15. -
Makes you feel better is silly if there is no objective benefit. Who knows the engine better than Ford and who has more incentive to ensure the filter is effective than the MFR who guarantees it for 60K miles? I could understand if there was some type of performance gain, but there isn't.

You must be looking at the wrong tire. They're $218 each on tirerack all the time.

Really no need to run anything other than the factory motorcraft filters.

That was 27Sport, not me. Try fordparts.com to find the parts and check with Benny at Levittown Ford - he'll help you out.

It may test ok depending on who is doing the testing. I'd just replace it.
