  1. The best option is to use the "view new posts" feature so you see all the new topics when you log in regardless of where they are located. Welcome!
  2. Just FYI - the homelink transceivers are all the same. I bought a maxima visor for $30 and put it on my 06 Fusion.
  3. They may try to deny a warranty claim but the law says they have to be able to prove there was a reasonable connection between the modification and the failure. E,g, if you put on big tires and wheels and your half shafts break, they won't cover that. But if your radio dies it's still covered.
  4. No such thing. If the catch can causes a specific problem it won't be covered but it doesn't change coverage for other unrelated problems.
  5. What does that mean? It's one of the more sophisticated ones on the market - it actually anticipates slippage before it occurs using steering and yaw sensors and throttle data. If you mean it doesn't have torque vectoring that's limited to luxury vehicles and high performance sports cars.
  6. I forgot that I have that option now with 2.2. It's not there in 1.0.
  7. Anybody else having problems uploading the xml confirmation file?
  8. Sorry about that - I admit I did overreact a bit to what you actually said based on what others have said in the past. And I share the frustration that Ford doesn't always seem to fix these problems with a better part that won't fail again. It's a lot easier to accept a one time repair instead of an ongoing repair. That's happened with several parts on several different vehicles the last decade.
  9. nada.com Edge 2WD SEL w/nav and sunroof 2014 - 36K miles - avg trade-in $19,600 2016 - 12K miles - clean trade-in $26,650
  10. Because the more you advance the timing, the more power and better mpg you get. So they advance the timing until it starts to knock, then backs off a little. This allows you to get better performance and fuel economy on 91 or 93 octane while still being able to run ok on 87.
  11. I just downloaded and installed 2.2 from owner.lincoln.com.
  12. It is for the Focus powershift DCT - not sure about the 6f50 or 6f55.
  13. There is a big drop immediately because people are willing to pay a lot more for a brand new vehicle right off the bat. 20% sounds about right. Remember the dealer who buys it has to sell it alongside brand new ones. But it will still drop another 30% over the first 3 years.
  14. I guarantee there is a significant difference between wholesale value on a 1 month old vs. 3 year old vehicle.
  15. While I completely agree Ford should have come up with a new part and/or extended the warranty...... Since they haven't what choice do you have?
  16. There have been others in the past who have claimed it's a serious safety issue to the point they are afraid to drive the vehicle. Yet they continue driving it hoping for Ford to issue a recall so they can get it done for free. I have no problem with folks saying it's a safety issue. It is although I think it's pretty minimal, therefore I have no problem with folks asking for a recall. I think at the least they should engineer a better part and extend the warranty to 100K miles. No disagreement there. Where I have a problem is when people use the "serious safety issue" angle to the point they say they're afraid for their safety while driving yet they don't bother to spend a few hundred bucks to fix the problem for at least a few more years. They're exaggerating the safety issue just because they don't want to pay for the repair.
  17. Anyone who owns a 2012+ Focus probably knows what a TCM is because they had to replace it. At least it was covered under extended warranty.
  18. Does the Edge have a TCM (transmission control module)? If so that would be a good guess.
  19. Get the factory tow package if possible. You get extra cooling and integrated wiring to tow up to 3500 lbs.
  20. Well duh - I also missed the d in tdci (diesel). How does it drive with the Diesel engine?
  21. Sweden?!? I completely missed that. The classic Fords threw me off. It does look like Sports in Sweden get the 2.0L TDCI. My mistake!
  22. Welcome! Just FYI if you have a Sport you actually have the 2.7L TDCI V6 engine, not the 2.0L tdci I4. We had 2 white platinum vehicles for a total of 8 years (Edge and Escape). It's a great color, especially under streetlights at night. My dream classic vehicle is a 77 F100 ranger xlt shortbed. I plan to restore one when I retire. Got any pics of the 74 f100?
  23. If it's really such a safety issue, then you should replace the latch immediately. As long as you save the receipt, if a recall is issued later you will get reimbursed. Not replacing the latch because you're waiting for a recall and then saying you're worried about your family's safety is ridiculous.
