  1. Ford Credit. They own the car, not the dealer.
  2. Just FYI - the "battery" light doesn't mean the battery is bad it means the charging system (alternator) is not putting out enough voltage to recharge the battery.
  3. My advice is you generally get what you pay for, but I don't have any direct experience with this stuff.
  4. All that "work" was paid for in the original sale. Ford may also compensate the dealer for the lease turn in work.
  5. They don't split anything. Each dealer gets commission on the vehicles they sell or lease.
  6. I think it's safe to assume you can easily get a $30 oil change.
  7. This is why I actually prefer driving my 2.0LEB Fusion over the 3.7 MKX. MKX feels like a dog below 4000 rpm (it's not but it feels that way compared to the instant torque of the 2.0LEB).
  8. it's probably to get rid of leftover coolant that might be incompatible with the new coolant. Unless you're doing a chemical flush then you need to neutralize those chemicals.
  9. Wow - December 2009. Did you get in the wayback machine with Mr. Peabody to find this one?
  10. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12731-radiator-fan-assembly-replacement-procedure/page-2?hl=%2Bradiator+%2Bfan&do=findComment&comment=115147 Could also be the water pump if it loses coolant before it overheats.
  11. Where did you get those prices? $94 for an oil change?
  12. It's a classic case of suppliers exactly matching new car demand (to cut costs and meet mfrs ever tightening cost targets) which makes it hard sometimes to overproduce to make enough repair parts for existing vehicles.
  13. But you said maintenance package not extended warranty. They're completely different.
  14. Doesn't matter how dirty they get - use the same stuff you would use on the rest of the car. Bug and tar remover for tough stuff, car wash soap otherwise. Paint sealant or wax to protect just like paint.
  15. Ok, guys, knock it off. I edited/deleted some posts. No more personal attacks including moderator insults. Chefduane - KLinNBC appears to be right for the 2015+ Edge and MkX. They do appear to use the pinch weld to lift the vehicle. This is completely different from the pre-2015 models that straddle the pinch weld. You're both right depending on the model year.
  16. Not usually. There is very little maintenance actually required - probably $50/yr for fluid and filter changes plus a few bucks for wiper blades, etc. Maybe $200 for a transmission fluid swap but that's about all that is really required. Most of the cost ends up being "inspections". So at least understand what you're actually paying for above and beyond the minimum required. Also if you do it yourself you can decide when and where to have the maintenance done.
  17. He apologized for it and to be honest your comments about people not taking the jack out of the car was just as bad. You could have simply said the 2015+ models use a different jack than the pre-2015 models. It's natural for people to assume that newer vehicles work the same as theirs or to simply not notice the year. There is no need to get upset over a simple mistake.
  18. After looking at the picture in the owner's manual on my MKX it would appear that the CD4 vehicles have reinforced pinch welds that will hold up the vehicle. But I'm also certain that's not the case on the CD3 (07-14) models.
  19. Let's not exaggerate. It's not built at all by Mazda. The platform was derived from the original Fusion platform which itself was derived from a Mazda platform so they do share parts but it's built and engineered 100% by Ford, not Mazda - although they do share parts.
  20. You must have done it accidentally. There is no way for an admin to assume someone else's login. Besides, if someone wanted to hide something they would have simply deleted the entire thread. No conspiracy here.
  21. It's almost like those factory engineers knew what they were doing.....
  22. For US buyers the Edge is a foreign car. If you want to troll go somewhere else. Last warning.
