System not shutting down
akirby replied to L.Ray's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
Aftermarket remote start? -
There should be a display mode showing the torque split. Remember you still have open differentials so if one wheel is spinning freely the other does nothing until traction co trol kicks in by braking the spinning wheel. Put both rears on ice and it won’t matter.

It does not void the warranty but the dealer can tell if a tune was installed and if you have a failure that appears to be caused by the tune they can deny that specific warranty item. E.g. if the engine appears to have failed from overboosting the turbo and a tune had been installed they probably won’t cover it. But if the purge valve fails that’s still covered. They can tell if a tune was installed even if you remove it and return to stock.

It means updating the engine and transmission management parameters. The most common change is to advance the engine timing to produce more power when using higher octane fuel. It can also change the fuel map to be more precise, change tranny shift parameters, etc. On Ecoboost vehicles it can also change the boost settings.

ST Line was added to North America a couple of years ago.

Completely different size.

Actually edge ST launches in AWD under hard throttle. The problem is the trans, PTU and driveshaft have to be protected by limiting torque in lower gears whereas the X5 and other longitudinal setups have much more robust drivetrains that don’t require as much torque management.

Yes it's the chip shortage. Edge and Nautilus are obviously not a priority for Ford so the factory has been shutdown for most of the year. I'd say wait and order a 2022.

Compare the engine specs to a 1997 4.0L Explorer.

That could cause issues with the variable cam timing which uses engine oil. It's more complicated than just fuel economy.

Cruise Control Speed Increments, possible to change?
akirby replied to ben senise's topic in Accessories & Modifications
If you need to add 10 km/h, press the gas pedal then hit set again. -
Not sure how that would work if an inspection is required. Can any dealer do the inspection even if you're not buying it from them?

It’s probably a different plan name. Check with Ford.

Not true. It just requires an inspection. I’ve never heard of anyone unhappy with a Ford ESP repair. I’ve heard many horror stories about non Ford warranties.

I'm pretty sure Brits are only allowed to go offroad in a Land Rover......

The only extended warranty worth purchasing is the Ford ESP and I'm 99% sure that us covered. You can see the list of parts covered at the Ford ESP website.

Seriously just buy a Bronco or Bronco Sport.
-
Just to clarify 3.5 engine is port fuel injection. 2.0 and 2.7 turbo engines use direct injection. All are fuel injected and all have a throttle body.
-
That’s way too easy. Who can afford $8?

Check the date

Your link doesn’t work but did your edge come with sync 2 or sync 3? If you already had sync 3 all you needed was a new USB port.
-
But does it fit over the big brakes? That’s most likely why it isn’t included.
