  1. Unfortunately there are good dealership service departments and bad ones. If one isn't working you can always try another (although Ford may want the original dealer to finish a repair they started if possible).
  2. That's exactly what it was designed to do - make it easier to steer at slower speeds such as while parking.
  3. Maybe it thought the road was closed or the traffic was so slow it was faster to go the other way. Or perhaps there was a missing road on the sync 3 map. If possible try it again without the traffic and check it with google maps or some other nav app.
  4. I wouldn't expect any problems.
  5. Exactly the problem - you're not running the engine long enough to recharge what is lost in starting. With today's vehicles the battery is no longer install and forget - it's going to need some routine maintenance or just plan to replace it every 2-3 years.
  6. Definitely the battery. Might get away with charging/reconditioning. Might need a new one. I recommend investing in a Solar (brand) tester and C-tek charger/conditioner and recharge/recondition it every 3 months or more often.
  7. Next time it's struggling in D hit the downshift (left) paddle once. If that fixes it then it sounds like a problem with 6th gear. I think Sport mode typically locks out 6th gear.
  8. That seems entirely plausible. It doesn't mean that civilian Explorers don't also have exhaust leaks - clearly they do. But this appears to be a different problem that occurs mostly at idle.
  9. I've never gotten more than 3 years out of a battery in Georgia and those seem like classic symptoms. Just bite the bullet and replace the battery. If nothing else you'll have peace of mind for the next 3 years and you've ruled out the most likely cause.
  10. No argument that these problems are happening too frequently. It's definitely a problem. But don't blame Ford because you bought a used car you didn't inspect with a warranty you didn't read.
  11. You probably need a new battery if it's more than 3 years old no matter what the auto parts tester says.
  12. So you didn't read the fine print on the warranty about what wasn't covered and you didn't do a thorough pre-purchase evaluation?
  13. None of those vehicles, engines or transmissions are currently in production. There are some problems (water pump on the 3.5, tss/oss sensors on the 6F50 trans, PTUs) but nothing like those older problems and I don't think current Jeeps are that much better. But I guess the grass is always greener....
  14. Because Jeeps never have problems........
  15. Some have reported wiring problems with aftermarket fans/controllers. Might need to go with OEM replacement.
  16. If it was as simple as too much heat from the exhaust that would seem to be a relatively easy fix. I've been told by engineers that they think it's a buildup of manufacturing tolerances resulting in too much internal heat and that's why it only affects some units and not others.
  17. It was just an advertising gimmick. http://www.adbuzz.com/OLD/fina.html
  18. You're forgiven. I was a big fan of the early 80s camaros (before I knew better).
  19. Well, Jacksonville is really close to where I grew up in South GA and based on experience I'm going to guess there might be a mullet involved......
  20. Doesn't seem like that should work but I guess it's cheap enough to just try it and see. Those should only work on computers where the OS is using usb for audio output like a headset, etc. Since Sync 3 is looking for either a storage device or a mp3 player I don't think it would work. When using a usb drive it doesn't have to reindex or reload anything each time - I have over 1000 songs on a usb stick and it starts up and plays immediately. It only has to re-index when you change something. Are you sure it doesn't support hi-res WAV and FLAC files? I'm seeing folks reporting that it does but I haven't tried it myself. Is there a link to a test file somewhere I can try?
  21. I love keystone klassics but not on an Edge.
  22. I assume he meant when the shade is open. But the factory tint does fine in that regard.
  23. It gets worse. I have a nasty habit of ingesting dihydrogen monoxide. I'm probably up to a couple liters per day, sometimes more. Should I see a doctor?
  24. Don't get Rain-X over the auto wiper sensor behind the rear view mirror (if you have that option).
