  1. You can blame Mark Fields for the lack of new models and refreshes. He went into super conservative cost savings mode stopping or delaying several new models including the new Explorer/Aviator and Fusion/Focus updates. It will take them a couple of years to catch up.
  2. I thought accessory delay was a signal wire only telling the components when to turn off. I know it works that way with the radio because the radio is always hot and can be turned on any time even after accessory delay ends.
  3. That's WAY too much work to try and combine all the topics. What I can do is if someone can identify one or two topics I can pin them so they show up at the top of the forum.
  4. NO! The car does not auto lock that way. It only locks if you use the button inside or on the fob or touch the top of the door handle. Your salesman is wrong. Auto lock means the doors lock while driving above 5 mph.
  5. The better question is even if it does, why bother?
  6. Honestly, there is no reason NOT to use the factory motor craft synthetic blend 5W-20 and motorcraft filters. Especially given your low mileage. Some people prefer full synthetic and other brand oil filters but I've seen no evidence that it's necessary even in higher mileage vehicles.
  7. I think you're misunderstanding how the temp control works. There is cold air coming from the evaporator coil and hot air coming from the heater core. The blend door determines how much of each one gets blended together (thus the name ). So even if the compressor is running the blend door can give you 100% hot air.
  8. 5W-20 is almost like water already so yes it's suitable for really cold temps. Just remember that Ford tests the factory 5w-20 in places like YellowKnife where the winter temps are -26 C. 0W-20 would offer a slight improvement in the coldest of days but it's not necessary. It's also not very expensive compared to other conventional oils and synthetic blends and is cheaper than full synthetics.
  9. So much for trying to keep the technical details out of the welcome topic.......
  10. What omar said. The factory synthetic blend 5W-20 is great for use year round. Change it every 6-9 months if you're not exceeding the mileage limit.
  11. Sorry I meant that we should not have that type of discussion in this forum and to wait until you create a new topic in the correct forum (which you already did).
  12. Please post your questions in the appropriate forum and we'll be happy to assist. Just a FYI on the oil - all factory Fords get Motorcraft synthetic blend oil. We can save the discussion on whether it's better to switch to full synthetic for the other topic.
  13. Does it mention valve cover gaskets specifically?
  14. They are releasing a PI version of the Fusion hybrid next year so maybe some of those parts can be used on the Edge since it's the same basic platform.
  15. The only thing we ask is that you take the time to read the OM and do a quick forum search before asking questions. If you don't have the OM you can download a pdf at owner.ford.com or motorcraftservice.com. Welcome!
  16. It looks like it is the brake switch on the brake pedal. It may be that the pedal was hard before the vehicle was started so it wasn't depressing the switch but after starting it works fine. That would explain why there wasn't an issue with the brake lights. I bet when you got the no start condition the brake lights were not on.
  17. It's possible you got the 2.3 version even though it was labeled 2.2. What does the vehicle report?
  18. It doesn't make any difference what they call it. Even if it was called a "problem" or "defect" it's still not a recall and therefore subject to normal warranty rules.
  19. Master reset does not erase radio presets.
  20. We get 19 in our 3.7 MKX with a mix of city and highway.
  21. Strange they would use 2 different sensors for the brake pedal.
  22. Have not heard that complaint, but there are problems requiring the steering wheels to be replaced on some vehicles.
