I'd be surprised if there were many Job#1's still sitting on lots.

Easiest solution to me ... get her a new phone. How the hell can you drive one of the, if not the absolutely, most technically advanced Ford available now and carry a feature phone? Tell her like this: "You have a smart car, why do you have a dumb phone?" You can afford a $40k car... a $200 phone is nothing. Problem solved, life improved. BTW... I had a hard time reading since MIL to me (in a car forum) usually means Malfunction Indicator Lamp (Check Engine)... not your problem, just something I deal with.

Does this happen when anybody else drives the car? I don't want to make any assumptions to your body type, but it MAY have something to do with it. My old car's seatbelt would squeek at certain angles against the leather/seat bolster. Try getting into the car, buckling in, and when you notice the squeek, grab the latch and rotate it to another angle and see if that helps. If so, some felt glued to the contact side will stop that. As for the grinding brakes, get used to it. Its a product of metallic brakes and pads. Maybe ceramic pads could alleviate this. Visually inspect your brake rotors before getting in, if you see rust, use the brakes before you need them to clean up the surface. If you can't stand the noise and like the car otherwise, I would invest in some sound deadening. Ford must have heard the complaints too because the '11s have all sorts of new sound attenuation fixes (windshield, firewall, headliner, engine cover, mirrors etc). Dynamat is the most well known, but Raamatt is a very good alternative. With the Navigation and voice, does it work with anyone else using it? If there are still problems with other voices, I would take it to the dealer and have them test the microphone. If it doesn't hear well, it won't recognize your commands. And maybe you are being a little picky, but that is just fine since this is YOUR car. You drive it, you should like it. If you don't, look for a way out. Check out other Edges in person and see if yours just happens to have issues. I'm sorry you are not impressed with your 2010 as I really have nothing but praise about the 2011 I picked up last night. Well..... short of the tires at least. Cheers!

I don't see any reason why Ford would put money into developing a completely different pedal (ie not based on the previous)... I would say with 90% certainty that they should fit. But i could be wrong.

I'm going to say that this 2011 splits the middle between a refresh and a new model purely on the amount of work put into it: New engine (Ti-VCT) including Mustang V6 in Sport Trim with EcoBoost 2.0T to follow, 2 New Transmissions, New brakes, New Front end, refreshed rear end, New Wheel choices, New MyFord Touch system, a new and more absorptive sound pack throughout the interior, an acoustic headliner, a new robust engine cover, several subframe mount additions and upgrades, a laminated windshield, underbody shields and a re-tuned exhaust system, Hill Start assist, BLIS, adaptive cruise control, cross traffic warning system, My Key, and capless fuel tank. I think I got it all

Opinion needed on "Earth Metallic" color
cal3thousand replied to Classiccars's topic in Exterior & Body
I was interested in knowing more about the Sienna interior as well. Make sure to remember that the headliner and grab handles will always be a light tan color no matter what interior you choose. My issue with the Sienna interior is being too busy. The top / headliner is light, the seating surfaces are brown, and then everything else is black. Seems confused. Additionally, I like the contrast stitching of the other two choices. The light medium stone has the best overall matching scheme, but I don't really like light interiors. -
What color did you pick? I know that Tuxedo Black and Candy Red will be in short supply due to a supply chain issue in Japan.

Thanks for the review on the BLIS functionality. I was contemplating adding the options, but I actually like the Blind Spot Mirror on the standard set. I guess I won't be check that box off since it seems like it won't replace a good ol fashioned visual check.

Carpet floor mat suggestions
cal3thousand replied to shiggins's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I saw some mats called Catch-it-all made by Nifty... apparently they are all weather, but carpet at the same time. Maybe look into those? -
Sounds like you need a new phone.... iPhone, iPod and iTunes not working well with Microsoft sync.... hmmmmm.... have you tried another phone?

I've looked but can only find info about the mirrors and wind noise... probably some other minor or behind the scenes stuff... hopefully a better hardware design in the MFT system? who knows.

Opinion needed on "Earth Metallic" color
cal3thousand replied to Classiccars's topic in Exterior & Body
Seems more like a color made for the MKX to me... a little older and reserved. Personally, I don't mind it, but the wife hated it. I really wish that the Carbon Metallic would have been available... oh well... I guess Tri Metallic Platinum will have to do. -
Gotta pay for the air here in most California stations.... BUT what most don't know is, by law, they are required to provide FREE air and water to people that purchase gas. So, buy a gallon and have the guy behind the counter "push the secret button"

My question would be whether or not the USB can connect to an RNDIS device such as my MyTouch 4G (CM7) ?

Does this mean that they should be somewhat repairable / serviceable? How hard would it be to replace the plastic parts? how is it bonded? Anyone know?

Which cars you compare the Edge with?
cal3thousand replied to jdf77's topic in Competing Crossovers & Vehicles
I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Its vastly improved for 2011 and has some compelling points. It does match up better to the Explorer, but with 2 rows, and in a similar price range (comparably equipped), it could be Edge competition. The real compelling aspect of it are the 1)REAL 4WD systems (3 to choose from) vs. "AWD" and 2) the Air Suspension. (similar functions to Range Rover) I priced a Laredo X 4x4 w/Air suspension and similar specs/options to the Edge that I want (FWD Limited) and it came out about $1,000 less without mentioning any incentives for the Jeep. Of course, the Edge's technology toolbag and killer MPG (relatively) give it the advantage in everyday life. But the GJC will shine on trips to Tahoe and other remote destinations. (not that the Edge won't). I am very close to pulling the trigger on the Edge, but the GJC makes me think twice. I think I should test drive the Jeep just to make sure the Edge is the right choice. -
Onstar MyLink for MyFord Touch
cal3thousand replied to jsabia85's topic in Competing Crossovers & Vehicles
MyFord Mobile will available for iOS, Android and Blackberry. Will the update trickle into the Edge is the question. Seems like the Ford Fiesta and newer cars will get it. I haven't seen anything that indicates the Edge though. -
Vinyl wrapping is the way to go. It will protect the original finish in addition to changing the look. Best of all, it is reversible, unlike paint.

You should be able to do it for $5000... leaving you $2000 ahead. But that would require the luck of finding a donor car and knowing someone good enough to frankenstein it
