  1. start small... get her used to it. Do something ultra clean and useful and she might see the merits.
  2. Do you have the driver's entry package? or factory remote start? I ask because it might be an issue with the PATS system. Some places I read say that the PATS bypass module will solve it. Others say that you need to leave an IA fob in the car for the remote start to work (which I would never do). And then there's the issue of carrying around an extra remote fob.
  3. That sucks man. I helped a member on here find a way to get 2011 slotted rotors. I suggested he buy from the dealer and have them custom cut at R1Concepts Feels like your seller knew he was getting rid of junk...
  4. I'll go over all of that in my review. But to answer you directly, Its very rigid. When folded, it's like a stack of hard cardboard. The sides have the smallest gap, nearly negligible. There is an opening where the mirror mounts that is fairly large... but I don't mind it.
  5. Hey... saw you were in the 'red' for reputation and plussed you out of it.

  6. I would NEVER put trash in my 'Louis' And its not a purse... it's a carry-all... and IT'S EUROPEAN!!!
  7. Thanks for the + reps guys! I've been trying to help out as much as I can. I'm finally back in the green after my *debate* with a member to remain unnamed.

  8. Got my sunshade and it rocks! I'm going to put up a review about it soon. Until then, here's a shot:
  9. True... hence the "most" and not "all" I understand that movement is going towards introducing EPAS to larger-wheeled vehicles (I feel Ford is pioneering here). But since it's inception in the 90s, EPAS systems were mostly kept to smaller cars due to the larger steering torque required for vehicles with larger tires. (Larger motors and magnets required)
  10. You could definitely wrap it in vinyl. I'm thinking about doing it to my chrome clads. Problem is, I don't think they have a clear one. If you don't mind running blacked out (or other color) rims during he winter, look into Scotchprint 1080 Vinyl.
  11. I've driven a bunch of FWD vehicles and the Edge's torque steer is relatively minimal and only occurs for an instant. Unless you are in the habit of punching it while doing a no-hander, it's a non issue in this car. At least that's how it feels in my Edge.

    Different shots of my car.
  13. From the album: Cal's 2011 Limited

Scotchprint 1080 matte black vinyl. 8 SQ FT
  14. No SelectShift? Aw c'mon ..... where's the fun in that? :peelout:
  15. You have a dev phone, so I assume a custom ROM?
  16. Yup. And seeing how they already put development time into reducing the internal friction on the unit, I don't forsee them chucking it in order to put in electric power steering anytime soon. Additionally the Edge has some BIG wheels to turn. Most EPAS systems are currently kept on the smaller vehicles or ultra high end vehicles (Lexus LX).
  17. The edge can use a wifi signal, bluetooth PAN, or a usb cellular modem (but support is thin right now) and share those connections with it's own wifi connection.
  18. It does not require a contract. You can (supposedly) use usb 3G/4G modems. I've heard the only ones usable are on the Sprint network. Clearwire 4G might since it's WiMax too. Right now, the kinks and support are still rolling out. Don't expect everything to work right away perfectly. In fact, to make sure you can deal with what currently works, make sure the dealer has the navigation all set up before you test drive. Call them and tell them you intend to test it out completely.
  19. I would.... ONLY if another manufacturer made a car in the same price point, with a bunch of the features I like in the Edge AND built their Headunit/Navigation around Android AND they released the code for community development. (And not run by Government Motors) Right now, I don't see another vehicle that would fit into the right form factor, even if it had the Android part I desire. So the answer remains... NO!
  20. At least you can brag that you got the quicker car. Unless you jettison the 22s, the Limited will pull away from the Sport.
  21. Good info... thanks for posting back your resolution.
