  1. Sometimes, I feel the same thing. I think it's the car understanding you are on an incline of some sort and cutting the injectors. EDIT: just found this link that indicates that the Edge will occasionally put an additional load on the alternator on coast to charge your battery and (presumably) reduce it's use on acceleration. Wonder how much truth is in there. http://bartowfordnew.../2011-ford-edge EDIT2: after some more reading, it seems fuel cut as well as a clutched "smart" alternator all help to give the Edge it's 19/27 EPA rating.
  2. Logged on today to check the Version number I just received and noticed that the site will be down for a couple days. If you need anything from that site, do it now or wait until after the 11th.
  3. Do you have a picture of this rubber plug? it could be a cover for a rotor alignment bolt? Try pulling on it a bit and see if something is under it.
  4. I'm thinking rust and/or parking brake. If you don't have the parking brake on and you've removed all fasteners holding it, all you should need to do is give it a good whack with a mallet to jar it off. Some type of rust loosener is advisable. Want to post a pic of where you're at?
  5. Sounds to me like the factory receiver is having issues, since both remotes quit. Unless there's some amazing coincidence and both remote batteries gave up at the same time.
  6. I'm still working on narrowing down my options. I have this new case for the Nook that allows it to stand up like an easel, so I've been setting it on the passenger seat. The other option that I want to get working is on the driver door handle. I'm researching mounts for it right now.
  7. Could be the same thing as some are seeing with the COPs (Coil on Plugs) that get "stuck" on and fry the coils.
  8. There was a thread like this in a forum I used to frequent. It turned out to be one of the longest threads on that site and is still going strong. So take some pics and share what you just got!!! I'll start. Just got a set of front Nifty Catch-It floormats for the Edge in the mail ($83 shipped for the pair; I'll post a review thread in a week or two):
  9. Would love to see your iteration. Mind posting a photo?
  10. Thanks for the photo. I'm at about 85% ready to do this. My car is with the dealer now, but I was thinking about getting this ball rolling some time next week. How does that work for you?
  11. Do you know what brand of Aftermarket? There's some that will exceed OE specs and some that don't. Pinholes in the metallic canister means they had to be uber cheap.
  12. I just got my super GPS setup working: NookColor tethered to MyTouch4G with an app called TetherGPS. The app will share the GPS data from my phone and send it to my NookColor (which has no GPS receiver of its own). NookColor is Bluetooth connected to SYNC's "audio" profile for Music and Nav. (You need to be rooted to activate the dormant BT chip found on the Nook's SoC [same chipset and OG Motorola Droid]). MyTouch4G is Bluetooth connected to SYNC's "phone" profile for calls. Now, I get Google Maps Navigation (which blows NavCrap clear out of the water) on a 7" capacitive touchscreen, Pandora or Grooveshark streaming and phone capabilities. Mind you, I only use this setup on longer trips. Otherwise I just use my phone or in-car Nav. (Side news: Google Maps 5.7 for Android [out today] supports downloading of offline maps in Labs!!)
  13. OMG that's the steal of the week! Too bad you don't live in So Cal buddy. I would have probably made you an offer on all your accessories.
  14. I'm glad I could help. If you found any post particularly helpful, hit the little green button on the bottom right of it.
  15. Hey there, how have you been? How's the car treatin ya?

  16. Thanks for the compliment! I did not have to jack up the vehicle to open the wheel well. There's actually 3 hex screws (7/32" IIRC) or 5.5mm. I honestly feel that only those 3 would be require to work in this area. BUT since it is so easy to remove the bumper cover, I would pull the whole thing and work on it in my living room or something. What I did was lay a utility blanket down and pulled off the Bumper Cover and lay it on it's face. Steps to remove front bumper: open hood unscrew 4 plastic screws and remove the 4 anchors ( you'll see what I mean ) loosen the 2 hex screws in front of the anchors (don't remove them) unscrew and remove the 7/32" fender screws in the wheel well (3 each side) Look inside the well and locate the screws that are upside down holding the bottom of the bumper cover to the car. (6-8 or so?) On each side, locate above the wheel well, the area where the fender meets the bumper cover. Put your fingers inside on the bumper cover and pull it back until it unclips from the fender (it will pop slightly and you might be apprehensive at first. But if made sure to get all the screws, nothing should break. Also unclip the pigtail for the light bars on both sides. After you have done both sides and have laid down utility blanket or cardboard, remove the last 2 screws that you loosened in the 3rd step. At this point, you should be able to lift the whole face off and lay it down. Be careful, as it will have a tendency to fall on its face if just stood up. Here's the instructions I used. It was for a 07-10 model, but everything is essentially the same: http://mechanixtrix.com/Article/Article.aspx?ArticleId=405
  17. Sounds like a pretty decent deal to me.
  18. Yup! you take that foot off the pedal and let it coast and the tranny is heading right for 6th gear. If you want to get on the highway with some zeal it will have to drop to at least 4th gear. If you pussy foot it, it will go to 5th and try to grunt it out of there. So like Carbonedge+ says, WOT if you get on the highway.... then ease off to your 1/2 or 3/4 throttle after the kick down has occurred.
  19. I agree that my car was not put together perfectly. Apparently those $100K laser door alignment robots weren't put to work before my car was built. Anyhow, I just took it to the dealer yesterday and the experience was pretty good so far. They need to keep my car another day to make sure they get the alignment on the door right as that was my first complaint. My service advisor immediately took note of everything I wanted fixed and put it in the computer. I was having some random SD card failures and SYNC restarts, so they are looking at that too. Hopefully I don't go home with more bugs than I started with.
