  1. Diagnosis on that part = Turn on A/C... listen for fan. $100? Earning the "Stealership" title for sure. Amazon has the part for <$140 bucks if it turns out that is the cause. http://www.amazon.com/TYC-622040-Replacement-Radiator-Condenser/dp/B0041TNK44 This one says 2010 and older... Fan should be an easy job for any shade tree mechanic and won't take longer than an hour or two at the most.
  2. I keep a utility blanket that I got on the cheap in there. It's good for covering things if I feel compelled, but most importantly it saves from scratches on the interior when I haul dirty and/or large heavy items.
  3. Just squeeze the contacts together before installing. It will bend the little metal "prongs" so they are a smaller diameter. I squeezed mine down until they touched or almost touched (w/light off) and they spring back to a good solid size for grabbing the 39mm. EDIT: (just in case) squeeze the contacts on the socket, not the bulb
  4. I have a two-fold fix for you: Download App called Audio Guru (Free) . It allows you to change all your various volume levels independently (and use profiles if you fancy) Then, for your Bluetooth volume issue, get on a call where you can make changes on your phone and SYNC and not be bothered with banter (Banking comes to mind). While on the call, adjust your volume knob on your Car (SYNC) to about 1/3 (this will set your car's phone volume). Then grab your phone and toggle the volume key up to MAX. You should see a blue Pop up that shows "BT media volume" or something to that effect (this will set the volume that the phone feeds to SYNC). Let me know if that works. If not, PM me and I'll walk you through something else.
  5. Thanks for the pic. Is that an iPhone only mount? Mind sharing product details? BTW, I +1'd you on this latest post, cuz it looks like someone is just hammering all your posts with -1s no matter what you said.
  6. I know... you share a dealer (and possibly other things )
  7. OP: Golden advice here from Allen (akirby) . Additionally, tell the dealer to lower the price by $750 and you'll consider using Ford Financing... otherwise, there's another vehicle on another lot (even if there isn't) that you'll pick up.
  8. Thanks for the heads-up. This is kind of perfect timing; I think I'll be ready to move up market when these cars come around.
  9. Now that's some good shopping. What color?
  10. For oil changes... get a creeper no need to lift the vehicle. For things REQUIRING lifting of vehicle, jack each side at a time and put a stand under each side.
  11. I agree If its not cool when not moving, the fans are not drawing enough air across the condenser to cool it. Do you hear the fan on when the A/C kicks on?
  12. I have a Job 2, it doesn't say it explicitly on my window sticker. The build date is on there however and (if I'm not mistaken) all March 2011 on were Job #2
  13. Powder coat will not help your issues. They will just chip the same. I like the tilt reverse idea, there's a gotta be a way to get that working. Just found this: http://www.kptechnologies.com/products.php?year=Universal&make=Universal&model=Universal Scroll down to universal reverse tilt module (standard = one mirror $60 , deluxe = both mirrors $100)
  14. I don't have them, but as of 2011s they are only illuminated and not matched to ambient lighting colors as one would hope.
  15. Kat for what it's worth, your dealer wasn't fully lying.... The reason is on Android phones, you can control the BT audio output volume at the phone level and that does not mess with the car's volume except that it feeds magnitude to that line. (Try toggling the volume keys on your phone when on a BT call and you'll see a blue volume pop-up that's different from your standard "ringer" volume pop-up) What I mean, is that it is like having a Walkman plugged into the audio input. There's a control on the Walkman AND the car. If you turn down the input (Walkman or Thunderbolt), the volume will decrease overall. Also, if you have the input device on 0 (zero) volume, you could have the Sync's BT volume all the way up and it will still be silent. I have a program on my phone that automatically turns the BT volume to a specified level (~85%) when it detects connection to SYNC via BT. I did this because I sometimes found that my phone's BT volume was sometimes down to almost 0% and I would not hear the music or call and would have to manually turn it up. Hope that's not confusing, I can re-word if so.
  16. Nice find. But for that money, I could get a tablet with mounts and a bunch of accessories. I wish there were a $100 option, but even then, I wouldn't use it enough to justify even that.
  17. You guys don't plan to roll your vehicles? wow... that's the first thing I plan.
  18. I still see Ford making leaps in quality under Mulally for the next few years especially. So later cars will be only be better. Makes me want to finish this lease (on 4/1/2013) and grab a 2013 or 2014 at that time.
  19. Newer crappy maps .. yay! (sorry, I'm a bit pessimistic today)
