I emailed Ford with my comments on this forum. The following is their reply.

Hi! My name is Jamie from Ford's Customer Relationship Center (CRC). Thank you for writing back to us with the information that was previously requested.
I am sorry that you are experiencing issues LED lights of the instrument panel of your vehicle. To help you with this matter, I have looked into our resources. To to adjust the brightness of the instrument panel and all applicable lit components in the vehicle during headlamp and parking lamp operation. Please follow the steps listed below:
• Tap the top or bottom of the control to brighten/dim all interior lit components incrementally, or
• Press and hold the top or bottom of the control until the desired lighting level is reached.
Note: In the uplevel message center only, a message will pop up that will show incrementally where the dimmer is in relation to the dimming steps. These steps will also vary for daytime and night time dimming.
At the CRC, we are unable to provide technical response, due to the fact that there are no technical departments at the center that would be able to handle such inquiries. If the CRC is unable to provide an answer to a customer with the aid of the Owner Guide or resources available to our center, we recommend our customers to contact a trained technician at one of our local dealerships. Resources are available exclusively to our dealerships directly from Ford Motor Company where answers may be obtained.
At this point, the CRC is unaware of any changes that our Engineering and Design Team will be making and the specific reasons for these changes. From time to time, vehicle models are added, deleted or modified. I would like to advise you that daytime funning lamps are not an available feature on your vehicle. This feature is only available in on fleet vehicle and vehicles sold in Canada. These feature is available to vehicles sold in Canada as these required by their law. If you feel that you are experiencing issues with the lighting system of your vehicle, we suggest that you contact you servicing dealership Bergey's Ford, Inc. for your service or repair needs.
