  1. I would like to rewire the vertical LED light pipes on the front bumper for DRL. I have tried the dealer route of programming the BCM to run DRL as Ford does with Canadian cars. This cannot be done in the US. Reasons were either hard coded or Canadian software not allowed in the US. I tried two dealers, got the same story. I do not need a light conversion kit as I have HID. How can the vertical LED strip be rewired to be on all the time? Or better yet the amber turn signals as DRL. UPDATE: I think I found my solution: http://www.daytimebrightlites.com/ I see there are detail posts on how to remove the LED pipes from the front bumper and soften them up in the oven to take apart then epoxy back together with various LED DRL's. One mistake and you have a mess. The link above looks like a plug and play solution. I am going to give this vendor a try.
  2. I emailed Ford with my comments on this forum. The following is their reply. Summary: That is the way it is. -------------------------------------------------------- Hi! 3. I own the 2011 Limited AWD with HID lights. US version with no DRL's. When I turn my headlights on I can not see any dashboard indication that my lights are on. There is a blue highlight icon that does appear if I have my brights on. Turn brights off and the icon disappears. On the round headlight switch there is a dimly lit LED that only can be seen in complete darkness. Am I missing something here? My old Ford had a green icon for lights on the blue icon for brights. I guess that is gone? The auto on headlight function is useless. It has to be very dark for the highlights to come on (auto). As previously mentioned when they do come on I am not aware of it. With all the automation in this vehicle I have to manage headlights manually for DRL's and headlights on/off. Comments? S
  4. I own the Edge 2011 Limited with HID headlights. This car has no Daytime Running Lamps (DRL). Local dealer says the BCM can not be programed to have DRL with HID lights. I see posts that Canadian dealers have the software to turn on DRL with HID headlights. Is there a third party solution for this in the US? Thanks, S
  5. Not only could I change the floor brightness but I had an on/off icon. Could turn lighting off. Nice. Thank you.
  6. I looked in the owner's manual and found no discussion of floor lights (p72-p75).
  7. New owner of 2011 Edge Limited. On the learning curve. Night time driving I see there is ambient lighting of the driver and passenger floor areas (blue). The Panel Dimmer Control does not dim these floor lights. At the moment I am not use to floor lighting driving at night. Is there a way to turn these floor lights off? Thanks, Sean
