  1. I think It's all notifications. I noticed this on my iPhone a couple of days ago. RadarCast was telling me that it was going to rain at my house. I haven't changed anything lately so I have no idea why is started happening.
  2. Because of the cover that is under the engine. you may not see oil dripping onto the garage floor. You should take that off and check inside of it.
  3. I've used 87 in my Ecoboost and performance is fine. PLenty of power to get on the highway when I really need to push it.
  4. I completely agree with this. I also contacted Dan with a problem I was having with mine because of moisture in the original DRLs. Two days later, I have a completly new setup ready to be installed.
  5. When I bought my Ecoboost, I didn't bother doing the calculations you both did. At that time people on the boards were talking about a longer payoff period. Didn't matter to me. I keep my cars at least 10 years so I figured it would pay itself off at some point. My biggest concern at the time was that Owe'Malley was floating some trial balloons about making the gas tax a percentage instead of fixed. They figured out that when gas prices go up, people drive less. That plus increasing CAFE regulations mean less money coming into the state. Because of all that, I just wanted to give them less of my money.
  6. Wasn't supposed to. Most of the time the complaints are against treatment from a DEALER. That;s what this was about. People tend to confuse DEALERSHIP customer service with FORD customer service. They are different businesses.
  7. I'm not either. However, there are lots of rental car agencies out there, USE THEM! When the letter says to take it in now and they will rent you a car, you expect them to be able to handle that.
  8. Mods -- feel free to move if this isn't the correct place for this post. My son has a Cobalt that is in the current recall from Chevy. The letter said to get it to the dealer NOW and they will pay for a rental car until parts are in and work is done. He called the dealership where he purchased it and was told that they were out of rental cars and wouldn't have until for a couple of weeks. After arguing with them for a while, he hung up them and called a dealership closer to us. They have a single point of contact for it (not a service manager) and she said the people she needs to coordinate with had gone home for the day, but her's would be the FIRST call they return so she will be calling him tomorrow to arrange the rental for him. I told him he should have told the first dealer to call Enterprise and get him a damn car. His first calls tomorrow are to Chevy and to the state licensing department. Moral: Not always the manufacturer that is the problem. Change dealers if you need to. You have no loyalty to them.
  9. Only when I don't do it like I outlined. At least on mine, most of my problems are with me, not it.
  10. I've had issues with mine as well. There are two things that I've done to make it more reliable. Don't use it in my pocket. Not sure if my body attenuates the signal or if it is becuase I'm not hitting the buttons reliably. Don't do two fast clicks on the start button. It's not like a double click on the mouse.
  11. I have the Daytime Brightlights as well. Absolutely love them. Also used their LEDs to switch interior and license plate light to LEDs. Puddle lights are great too. Got a set of them to install in my parents Flex to make it easier for them to see at night. Stock ones on the Flex are really bad.
  12. I addition to reporting this to Ford, I would report them to any state agency that regulates new and/or used car dealers. As stated, they put the life of you and your passengers at risk. There is NO excuse for that kind of behavior.
  13. I hope not. I love seeing the look on peoples faces when I use my Microsoft OS/2 mug.
  14. I think I've told this story here before, but I'm going to repeat it. In 1985 I bought a Dodge Ramcharger. Read the Conaumers Report article about it where they said not to buy it. The reason they gave? Because it rode like a truck. It better!! That's what I got it for! Haven't read anything from them since. Love my Edge. Great ride. Quiet inside. Had a couple of reboots a version or to ago, but nothing with the latest version.
  15. I thought the plastic clips job was to melt and drop it during a fire. I also don't think it is a Ford thing to put it on models (the original post I was replying to). My Neon has it as well. That's about as cheap a car as you can get.
  16. I thought all cars had it. Aren't they designed to drop in case of an engine fire?
  17. That is the only reason I regret not getting the MKX. I HATE holding onto cold steering wheels.
  18. I use Weis, but have noticed the sensitivity being set high at Giant as well when I fill up my parents car for them.
  19. I use an app to track my mileage and I put in the notes what the computer said mileage was and how much was used. Always seems to be within a half gallon or so. Doing this I have noticed that position of the car (front end up/down hill, etc) does make a difference. Plus when you know about how much fuel you should put in, you notice that some pumps are very sensitive and cut off way too early. I've really noticed that the sensitivity is turned way up on those pumps where you get a discount -- like at grocery stores where your purchases drop the price. Got a tankful for $1.54 the other day!
  20. That's weird because all of the cars that I have had that had idiot lights (Dodge, Chevy and Ford) instead of analog gauges always turned all the lights on when you first started them. This is going back to a 74 Dart. Like akirby said, it's the only way you know the lights work or not. I remember my father getting mad at me when I didn't notice that one of them didn't work one time.
  21. If you are affected by this issue, you'll also be getting a letter about this extension. I know because I got mine yesterday.
  22. Those work -- I've used something like the permatex before. I use the felt washers on my batteries now. Tired of buying the cans of stuff and only using them once. I keep forgetting where I put them in the garage.
  23. Mine did fine in the one storm we had last year. Drove on 95 from Laurel to BWI when I couldn't see the road (should have left a little later) and it did fine. Same rules as all cars: Drive with an egg between your foot and the pedals. Plan your stops and turns.
  24. I agree. Every car I've had back to a 74 Dart did this when you slid the control to defrost. 63 Valiant didn't do it, but then it didn't have AC. The difference is that with the AC light on a switch now, you know that it is doing it.
