  1. For extra $395 your SEL will come equipped with a Vision Package, which includes: BLIS Blind Spot Information System, park assist sensors, rear view camera, rain sensitive wipers and heated mirrors with security approach lamps. I got it on mine, i think it's the most practical addition and well worth the extra $$$$
  2. I also just became an owner of a silver with black leather AWD SEL w/202a package last week. I was faced with the same dilemma and was looking at LTDs when choosing the right EDGE for me, and opted out for less expensive SEL w/202a package, however I added Nav and vision package. i actually preferred the rims on SEL over LTDs stock ones. From what I can tell, the only thing i'm missing from LTD model are the memory seats, HID lights that come only with 302a package and Sony w/HD radio system. i just couldn't justify spending another 3K-4K on those few extra things, and oh yea, it comes with wooden trim with Limited logo on the dash
  3. Mine says 2.3 did i miss an update? i did the Sync System Checker a few days ago, i thought it would notify me if there are any other updates required? Sync Version 2.3 Confirmed installations BT4T-14D546-AG BT4T-14F496-AG BT4T-14F497-AG SYNC compatible software BT4T-14F603-AG Waiting to download 0 items
  4. So if i wanted to purchase a street legal HID Kit for 2011 EDGE with blue color lights, which one would you recommend and what would be the cost? Also i'm not very technical when it comes to cars, so would a novice such as myself be able to figure it out, or will I need to employ a help of a professorial?

    First snow

Not yet, but it's on the to-do list. First tuxedo black metallic grill, then HID lights and then remote start.

    First snow

This was one of the reasons I traded in my beloved Acura TL last week for the EDGE. AWD is a must have around here, especially in the winter. Gotta have any EDGE you can get over this erratic New England weather!

    First snow

sorry...trying to figure out how to post a pic
  8. Fist snow storm for my newly acquired AWD EDGE. We got around about 18" of snow in Boston overnight, and it continues to accumulate. I can't wait to get out there and see how it handles in the snow
  9. I was also considering installing HIDs on my new EDGE, however someone mentioned that it might void Ford's warranty? Is there any truth to that? Also I was recommended an alternative in Silverstar ultras as a safe and inexpensive alternative to HIDs. Any experience or thoughts on Ultras vs HIDs?
  10. No offense to you or Ford, but I wouldn't wanna be caught dead in an electric Focus even if I have a cool app for it However, I would love t o be able to use MyFord Mobile on a smart phone for my EDGE to remote start it and be able to monitor or change in-cabin temperature on a cold day winter day. One of my co-workers has a remote start app for his Tacoma, that he spend over $600. It would be awesome if we can get that for the price of a standard remote start and have it networked through MFT.
  11. Few days ago at CES 2011, Ford announcnced a new app called MyFord Mobile. It will be available for most major smart phones, including BlackBerry, Android and iPhone, and there would also be a mobile web application. However, the early indication that its mainly developed for Ford's newly announced Focus Electric due to come out later this year. MyFord Mobile's primary purpose will be to help locate charging stations. Other features also include the ability to lock and unlock the doors, use a built-in GPS system to help you find the car and it can even use power off the grid to warm or cool the car’s interior. While MyFord Mobile is desinged for electric cars, I believe it has alot of potential and hopefully will make it's way to other Ford vehicles in the near future.
  12. This morning I unplugged my iPod in order to upload Sync Status Checker. I'm still waiting for syncmyride.com to update the results and make a recommendation on software upgrade. However, after upload was completed I never plugged iPod back in, and shortly after my Captivate (Galaxy S) magical connected again and started working. I was driving all day and was able to make calls, had my address book available and used Services, just to test it out. I haven't tried plugging the iPod back in, but i have a slight suspicion that the issue has something to do with MFT being overwhelmed when you have multiple devices plugged in/synced at the same time.
  13. Sony Audio System w/HD radio is available exclusively on LTD/Sports models. I'm not sure how many watts either system packs. However, Sony System looks very sharp in piano black, would have love to have it as option on my SEL.
  14. it actually doesn't show up when you turn on the car. However you can make it stay on MFT display by clicking on home icon twice then you will see three options popup. In order to see your wallpaper you select the top option. Enjoy
  15. Congrats on your purchase! I just became an owner of a Silver Metalic w/ black leather interior AWD SEL (202a). I was looking at Limited models at first, but then decided to go with a loaded SEL model instead. I would have liked to have a Sony Audio system w/HD radio and memory seats, but in retrospect i think i made a right decision and saved some $$$. I also didn't like the look of stock rims on LTD, i think SEL set is better looking and reminds me of BMW's X5 snowflake style rims
  16. Pardon my ignorance, I've only had the car for three days now, but where would i find the fuse box?
  17. I was able to successfully pair my Samsung Captivate running Android 2.2 (FroYo) with MFT on the very fist day when i got the vehicle. It worked flawlessly for one day. Everything seemed to work, except BT streaming, but i expected that not to function properly. I was able to download my entire address book, was making calls and using services through Bluetooth. However, very next day the phone doesn't seem to be connecting anymore, it constantly displays "connect phone", sometimes it would connect for a few minutes and then drop the Bluetooth connection again. I tried re-pairing it numerous times, without any success. I was wondering if anyone else experiencing similar incompatibility issues on other Android Galaxy S devices running 2.2?
  18. I went to the local body-shop, today to get my grill painted tuxedo black metallic to match the one of the SPORT models. As i learned before on this forum the grill can be dismounted and painted separately. However after the guy tired to take the grill off and partially dislodged the top piece of the grill, he informed me that the bottom piece appeared to be bolted to the front bumper, making it difficult to take completely apart. I have previously dealt with this body shop and had service done to my other vehicles, so i can assure you that the guy isn't a complete moron. But i'm suspecting that he has never had to do this before on this type of a vehicle and was clueless on how dismount the grill for paint. He advised me that it would be best if i left the car in his shop for a few days and have it painted right on the car, i decided not to do it at this time and figured i would do more research regarding this procedure. I recall reading that this is a relatively easy process and something that almost anyone can complete in one afternoon. I was wondering if anyone has a diagram or detailed instructions on how to dismount the grill on 2011 EDGE, so i can take it back to the shop, so i'm not left without a car for a few days, and i certainly don't want it being painted right on the car, in fear that paint can get into nooks and cranes and ruin the overall pain and end up looking like a hack job. Thank you
  19. Just picked up my EDGE earlier today, absolutely love it ! I was pocking around in the settings and found UPDATE AND INSTALL APPS options. I know that software on MFT itself is upgradeable, however does anyone know what type of apps can be installed in addition to what's already on it? i read somewhere that some FORD vehicles are compatible with Pandora app for example, is it something that can be installed on the EDGE?
  20. Awesome! I appreciate your quick responses and the advice. Can't wait to get my SEL lookin' like a SPORT
  21. Any advantage of ordering a new grill instead of using the original? Also would you recommend going to the FORD dealer to get it painted in order to get the color right, or you think a regular body shop would be able to do it? Thank you,
  22. Hi everyone, I just became an owner of a brand new 2011 FORD Edge. I absolutely love the way SPORT' black grill looks like, however i ended up getting SEL with 202a w/Nav and BLIS. So basically a Limited w/o Sony radio on a cheap Anyways, i'm looking to see if anyone has been able to replace a silver SEL/Limited grill with the one from SPORT model on their EDGE. i would like to know what exactly i need to order and how hard would it be to do it yourself, or if i need to involve my dealer . I would appreciate any info on this subject matter. Thank you Andrew.
