Picked mine up with 15 miles on it last month. Helped the dealer peal off all the plastic from the outside as well as the inside of the car before my first test drive. it already had 11 and i put another 4 miles on the test drive. I was still shopping around, so had no intention of driving it off the lot the same day. But when i came back few days later after it still had 15 miles, 11 miles it had plus 4 that was from my test drive.

It works!!! Go figure, i didn't do anything different, but somehow it decided to work today. BT Streaming is an awesome feature when it works. I used it all day, so far so good

Just got a new HTC Inspire 4G (Desire HD) w/2.2 (FroYo), seems to work much better with MFT than did my Galaxy S(Captivate). Was able to upload my address book, it even grabbed Facebook pictures and added them to each contacts, i didn't expect that so it was a nice surprise. Works great for calls, so far doesn't seem to disconnect like my Galaxy S did constantly. Unfortunately SMS feature still isn't supported, oh well. I also tried BT stream, However since i was never able to get it to work with my old phone, i'm still not sure if i'm doing it right. I clicked on BT stream in MFT, and than launched music on my phone, but it's only playing it on the phone and not through the car speakers. has anyone been able to successfully get this feature to work on any android device with 2.2(FroYo)? What am I missing?

Sirius quality not woth the money...
drevv replied to Victor Wolansky's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I’ve had XM in my other car for 4 years. I enjoy commercial free music channels along with few shows and live game broadcasts from different markets. I never listen to FM anymore, since it seems like there’s a commercial on every two seconds. Now I got EDGEy, I’m looking forward to free 6 month of Sirius. Even though XM and Sirius have merged, there seems to be discrepancy in channel numbers and few missing shows and different sports categories. I loved listening to local and out of market MLB and NHL games on XM, now I understand Sirius has NFL, which is awesome, but since football season is over and baseball season is about to start, I’m gonna miss listening to Red Sox games on XM. As far as the quality goes I never noticed any distortion and it always sounds much better than FM station. I like artist and song tagging feature and visible game scores. The only issue that I seem to have now, is that it tends to go in and out a lot. In my previous vehicle I would only loose the signal when I was in the tunnel or somewhere in the mountains, other than that it worked like a champ all the time. On the EDGE it seems to go out a lot just driving down the street I would loose signal. I’m not sure if I had a stronger antenna on my old car (it was also built-in) or Sirius is somehow transmitted differently then XM. It hasn’t been that big of a deal to me, but does get a little annoying at times. Also with XM I was able to get their 50% deal ($77 a year) every time I renewed, so I’m hoping to be able to get a same or similar deal on Sirius, since I’ll be considered a new customer once my trial expires. Overall, I’ve enjoyed satellite radio for years, and looking forward to keeping it as long as prices remain reasonable. -
I use Samsung Captivate (Galaxy S) with unofficial 2.2 (FroYo) It seems to be working only for basic functions. I was able to upload my address book, it seems to be making and receiving calls just fine. It does however disconnect itself from MFT once in while, so i have to reconnect it every time. BT streaming doesn't work, one time i tried it it crashed MFT, i haven't tried it since. I will be getting HTC inspire or Motorola Atrix in a few weeks with official FroYo (possibly will update it to 2.3 Ginger Bread) and hopefully it will be more stable and add some additional functionally.

I've always been a huge fan of Japanese cars. I've had Honda (Civic/Accord), Acura (TL) and Nissan (Pathfinder), never owned an American made car. When I started looking for a new vehicle late last year, I was leaning towards a crossover or a small SUV and was strongly considering Acura RDX and Infinity FX 35. After driving a rear wheel drive TL for the last 4 years I knew i had to go to something with AWD. I loved the car, but living in New England you need an AWD and i couldn't go another winter without being able to effectively drive in the snow. My first choice was an Acura RDX, however after I test-drove one, I felt cramped (i'm 5'11) in and quite frankly I thought 2011 RDX looked and felt more like a Subaru Forester (no offense to Subaru owners) rather than it's cousin MDX. The price was right, but it just felt more like a car than a small SUV. Next I looked at Infinity FX35, i actually liked it a lot, it looked great and felt like a "real" SUV. Unfortunately the price tag was a little too hight with all the bells and whistles I wanted, just couldn't justify such high monthly payment. Just by chance i saw EDGE on the road one day, and it immediately struck me as a thing of beauty. I started researching it, and as i learned more about it, i liked it more and more. After my first test drive, i got an EDGE bug . It was exactly what i was looking for; beautiful on the outside and sophisticated on the inside. It drives like a small SUV and not like a truck or a car and is loaded with comfort and technology. MFT is a amazing, i read a lot about how slow and unresponsive it was, and it by far exceeded my expectations. It works great and does everything i need and more. I ended up getting AWD SEL 202a package w/NAV and BLISS, it just made more scene financially over LTD. I've had it for just over a month now, but so far i'm extremely happy with my decision, the only concern is the quality of an American made vehicle overtime. I've been spoiled by reliability of Japanese cars for years, and i'm hopping that EDGE will stuck up to the the imports overtime.

I had my SEL's grill painted metallic black to match a "Sport" earlier this month. However, I decided to get my original grill painted instead of ordering a new one. It took a day an half and cost me $175 to get it removed, sanded (stripped of chrome), primed and painted. The owner of the body shop was a friend of a friend, so he gave me a discount, but he told me that a job like this would typically cost around $250. I would shop around, you might be able to save yourself a few hundred bucks. Good luck!

It handles like a dream in the snow! i live in Boston, where we received over 40 inches of snow in last 30 days since i''ve had my EDGE. I'm extremely happy with the way it handles in these conditions. I've only experienced slight fishtailing when taking turns in thick snow, but that might be due to the fact that it's lighter than some larger SUVs. I had 4x4 Nissan Pathfinder about seven years ago and cant recall any fish-tailing, while it was in 4x4 mode. but I believe it was due to its weight. However, intelligent AWD seems to give you a much smoother ride overall and way better gas millage.

Directional blinker/Rain sensitive wipers questions
drevv replied to drevv's topic in Owner Impressions
That's great, i can't wait to get out there and try it! i just didn't think i needed to go the the manual for turn signals, i thought i had it covered in driver's ed Simply didn't anticipate Ford engineer's desire to revolutionize blinker concept Thanks for your explanation. That's what i figured, i guess we'll just have to wait for the monsoon season. -
I’ve had my EDGE for almost a month now and love absolutely everything about the truck. I live in the Northeast and I’m glad that I got it when I did considering all that snow we got this winter. Its amazing handling in the snow, MFT and a comfortable ride are the most impressive features to me so far, and makes this investment worthwhile, especially coming off a sporty import (Acura TL). However, there are still few things that are still puzzling to me. First and foremost is the directional blinker; I still can’t get used to the fact that it doesn’t “lock in place” like on all other vehicles. Sometimes I find myself standing on the light while making a turn and i have to push it down several times, since it seems to stop blinking after just a few seconds. I just don’t understand the concept behind it. Is there some advantage of this feature that I’m not taking advantage of, other than some people would forget to cancel their blinkers after making a turn (which I never had a problem with on any of my previous cars) and drive for miles with their direction signal on? To me it seems to be more of a nuisance and offers no convenience. Am I missing something? Secondly, I got BLISS package, which supposed to have rain sensitive wipers according to the drivers manual. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong, but it seems to just work all the time at the same intensity regardless of amount of perspiration on my windshield. I initially thought it was supposed to automatically start working once it scenes any moisture on the windshield and adjust sensitivity accordingly. However, according to the manual you have to leave it on an any speed setting and it supposed to automatically adjust the sensitivity, but it just seems to work at the same level I initially set it on (even if there’s no rain/snow it keeps working if I leave it on). Because of a snowy winter I wasn’t able to really test it in the rain conditions, since it seems like we get a foot of snow every week, and virtually no rain. I’m hoping that its just isn’t very "snow friendly" system and was designed for rain conditions, and as we transition into more rain intensive Spring season it will begin working as advertised. Or am I missing something here again?

Question about 2011 Edge SEL w/202a
drevv replied to jaymac8888's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Lines don't move, however there are sensors on the bumper that start making a noise when you get close to the object behind you and by the intensity of the sound you can estimate how close you're to the object. (at least i have it on 202a, but i would imagine it's standard on any package that includes rear view camera) -
Question about 2011 Edge SEL w/202a
drevv replied to jaymac8888's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Yes, it's called park assist feature that can be turned on/off in MFT' rear view camera settings. -
I've had my EDGE for two weeks now, and don't have any real problems with MFT. However, i'm having some minor issues with the iPod integration, and can't determine if it's my iPod or MFT's or even USB ports. I have an older 80GB iPod classic, i haven't really used it much in the last few years, but it seemed to be working just fine whenever called upon. Now, i have it permanently plugged into one of the USB ports in the car. However, every time i put it on shuffle all mode, through MFT it seems to work for a while, and then it starts to just skip and cycling through tracks without ever playing them. You can actually see it on the MFT display as well as on the iPod itself. It also does this if i use MFT's voice command to play a certain artist or an album. I also loose the album covers when this happens. Once i do a soft reset on the iPod problem seem to go away and it starts working properly for a while. I tried it on both USBs, so it's not a faulty USB port. Has anyone experienced similar issues with their iPods or is mine just getting tired and its hard-drive on the verge of failing?

Thanks, i think it looks awsome and i'm glad i got it done They ended up taking the grill of the car completely, because they had to sand it and then prime it to get ready for paint. But i'm guessing it was a difficult process because he also said that they had to remove the front bumber to get it done.
