I installed a locking gas cap on one of my other ford products four years ago - an Explorer Sport - before leaving it for one month in a long term parking lot. Since that first visit it has made several long term parking lot stays. Easy to install. The cap attached to the original tether. No problems so far. Just the hassle of unlocking the cap each time you visit the pump. I have not considered installing a cap on the Edge but I do not plan to leave it in a long term parking lot. I am positive that it would be simple to install a locking cap on your Edge.

Yes, it's inexpensive ($10 for two - sold in pairs) and a clip on. One for your EDGE and one for your significant other (purse/backpack). It works...and you can remove it to look for things that fall under the seats. Installation is simple, just clip it on the wall that separates the upper and lower bins of the glove box. You can find them where other "As-seen-on-TV" products are sold. (You may need lithium batteries, to keep it functioning in the Winter, if you live in snow country.) Note: I am not affiliated with the distribution or sales of this item.

Weathertech cargoliner and floorliner color question

Thanks vino125. It is good to know that the Tan is to dark for the Light Stone interior. I'll wait for your photographs. Thanks again for all the time and effort you put in on this request. Thanks MKX2007! They do make good products...my old cargo liner fits like a glove. -
Sorry to hear you had such a tough time getting warranty service on your vehicle. If he had a new MKX on the lot with an interior like your vehicle has - he could have pulled the gear selector box (with a working panel) out of it and swapped it for yours. I have known service managers to do that... Hope all goes quickly!

Looking to cover the Light Stone interior carpet with Weathertech Floor Liners and a Cargoliner. In the Tan or Grey color. These are not sold locally. And it is difficult to determine the true color tone from the photos on the Weathertech site. Has anyone in the Forum purchased any of the above items and have the Light Stone interior? What was your color choice and your impressions of the color? I have had a Weathertech cargo liner in my Explorer for the past 11 years and I can tell you first hand it still looks new! So, durability is not the issue here just the color.... Thanks...

You are right on the pronunciation...I mis-remembered. Did some of the earlier Ford products let you adjust the sensitivity of the auto-lamp feature? I too have noticed that they trigger quickly on the Edge. Yes, it upset me too that the dealer did not catch this while preparing it for delivery after purchase. While I was having my Edge fixed my salesman was delivering a MKX to another customer. I walked out to the delivery area to talk to him and noticed that the 2 of the back-up LED's were not functioning on the left rear of the MKX. He was kind of surprised himself (he did not notice it) and then told the new owner the MKX needed to be looked at by the Service department. You would think that they would check these things over more carefully...

Glad to be of help 07 MKX. Nice photographs of the gear selector module and the light panel. The service manager said all he had to do was plug the panel in. There was no defect, just overlooked during assembly or not properly plugged in...was his guess. With that panel lit it makes it a lot easier to maneuver the vehicle when parking at night! Please update when the cause of your outage is determined by the service technician. Hope you get light soon!

The NAV is named Clara...the wife of Henry Ford. -

Thanks. I had a 1969 Cougar XR7 with the shifter in the same location as the Edge. That panel was illuminated with the instrument cluster. I have been driving manual transmission Ford products (2 ford Probes). And one Explorer with the automatic shifter on the tree. I was quite surprised to see no light in that panel on the Edge.

Have an Edge with the Medium Light Stone interior. Yes, there is a reflection. It can be mostly eliminated with a pair a polarized sunglasses...Honest!
