Painted grille and foglite surrounds?
scoopo replied to jeffreybehr's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I saw that on a Cadillac and one or two nice SUVs at a dealership in Dalton, GA. I agree, the nice sorta tight mesh on the back-side of the grill really looked nice! Good call there. Idea planted... -
After having the Clean-Seal treatment when I got my Edge I spotted a big ol spot of "wax" on the front. I read around, here too I'm sure, and kept seeing the peanut butter & toothbrush method. Works! No doubt! As I went around and looked close there was swipe marks all along the plastic all around the car and on the mirrors and keyless entry pad. Creamy PB, soft old toothbrush, and a rag.

Painted grille and foglite surrounds?
scoopo replied to jeffreybehr's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
While I'm sure there are a ton of options - especially if you want to custom build one - and no offense to TravysCanada but I don't like that grill above. I think the factory grill is much nicer. It may be the additional inserts below but it looks "bigger", "bulkier", "more massive", and just doesn't, imho, look like it belongs to the car. Again my opinion. I hope you take your time and really come up with something that "fits" the Edge. I look forward to seeing the end result. -
My pleasure

Welcome! Most of us can relate. Mine's about 4-5 weeks old and I've had a Clean-Seal deal done on it - paint ptocector, fabric protector, leather treatment. Got my front windows tinted. Tonight (why I'm spamming the forums I guess - lol) it's in the shop getting the new 20" wheels and tires and sport springs installed. Love it! :D

Welcome! Check out the Modifications section. They (we?... yeah!) are doing some good stuff to our "cars". :P

Black here. Beautiful! And with the way the black tint kinda blends.... best color ever! With the wheels I'm having installed it looks like I'm working to "black it out". It's awesome! I will admit that Cream Brulee model in the showroom was lookin very sweet :shades:

Admittedly my Edge is still 4-5 weeks new but I love it! It's great to see others enjoying some of the same things as me. The seats are wonderful! (6' - 235) Mine is actually at the tire place as I type this. Rims, tires, springs :D It's really a very attractive "car" Enjoy!

Installed the H&R springs yesterday
scoopo replied to jeffreybehr's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I dropped my Edge off this evening and will be picking it up tomorrow afternoon!! I'm really looking forward to the difference! H&R Sport springs, Zinik Violi Z20 black wheels, and Hankook 275/45R20 tires. (Those tires looked better than I expected when I took delivery ) If it's nice out I will get her washed and score the after pics. Might be Sunday. :P -

Installed the H&R springs yesterday

That looks sooo sweet! :shades: The before and after pics in front of that fence give a very nice look at the change. I'm uber-excited to get mine done Saturday! Bummer about the fender. Some people have no respect for other people's things and/or are idiots. Hate to see that. Great pics! Thanks for posting them up! I got 35% tint on my front windows as well. That's the law in Tennessee where I had it done and where I work. The guy at the tint shop said the 35% plus the minor factory tint came out to about 32% which is the law in Georgia where I live. All nice and legal ^_^ -

MKX and Edge have the same window weatherstripping?
scoopo replied to pbmitch's topic in Exterior & Body
No doubt. In all the forums I've been a member of there's always a troll or 10. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised -
LOL! We aren't required to have a front plate, and I ordered but have yet to receive my personalized plate - SCOOP I had one of those paper ones in the window but didn't like the tape on my glass in the 100+ degree days recently... so when it fell down I "didn't notice".

Great! I foresee no problems! All my parts are either here or will be delivered by Friday. Dropping the car off Friday evening along with the H&R Sport springs, wheels, tires, all new TPMS kit including sensors, straps clips and cradles. They will be putting the car in the bay overnight. Install springs, 4-wheel alignment, mounting, balancing, etc. The alignment ain't cheap but they agreed to knock off 10% because I have to go to Ford to have the new sensors "calibrated". The 10% is almost twice what Ford is gonna charge so that worked out just fine! Picking it up on Saturday afternoon/evening. Here's some before pics... (forgot the tire shine before the pics <_< ) New wheel pic in my first post ^ OEM wheels and tires w/intact TPMS for sale HERE Can't wait!! :shades:

Impressions of my 210 mile old Edge SEL
scoopo replied to Smiley's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
Nice. Mine is up to about 1800 miles and I love it too. You can pick up a male/male 1/8" cable at Radio Shack for the iPod. I got one about 6 feet long for around $7 I ran out to make sure it worked before posting this but my iPood battery is dead. It definitely fits though. LOVE the BAMR!! -
I went ahead and ordered the additional stuff as well as new sensors in order to leave my original wheels and tires intact (I'll need to edit my post in the Edge Classifieds section now) I'm having a bear of a time finding where to get all this stuff done. My dealer can't install my new springs. They say they don't have the compression tool necessary. NTB and Sears Auto Centers nearby are all ok to do the work but no one has the tool to recalibrate the new sensors. My dealer says he can recalibrate but asked if I am going to be running the same tire pressure. What pressure are you guys running in the new tires?

Hello again all Ok, here's the deal. I received my new wheels today They're 20x8.5" I ordered my tires (after much price comparison and reading user reviews) TIRES Check those user reviews if you're in the market! I've found a place with TPMS straps etc HERE Great find I think! As I ended up getting the tires and wheels separately I did not have to purchase new TPMS sensors. Of course I will have to get the straps. My question is this: Do I need to buy the sensor clips and/or cradles as well? I know I can use the OEM sensors and I know I need the straps but I haven't heard or read any discussion concerning these additional parts. Any and all ASAP (knowledgeable) replies very much appreciated Of course all replies welcome.

Full edit from previous posting: I got my new wheels, tires will be here tomorrow. TPMS straps, sensors, clips and cradles ordered and coming by the end of the week. I'll be having the H&R Sport springs and the new wheels and tires etc installed in one fell swoop on Saturday, 09/15/07 So, for sale to any interested Edge owner: 18" OEM Chrome Clad wheels with the Continental 245/60R18 tires still on. OEM TPMS system intact. They will still have well under 2500 miles on them when replaced - under 2000 atm on Monday, 09/10/07. Any reasonable offers considered! Just a thought - I'm in north Georgia and thought someone relatively close could take a road trip and meet me halfway for a no-shipping-charge cash deal. Up to the buyer of course. If someone needs them shipped I will be happy to find out how much shipping would be to you and factor that in somewhere. Lemme know if you're interested Reply here or send a private message. Here's a couple of pics. Tires not blacked before hand... sadly. (and, yes, I do see the line from the damnable "no-touch" car wash soap on the paint. It ain't the only one )

I bought one then read (here I believe) that holes would have to be drilled in my new hood. I decided I didn't care one bit for that and have it in the box in the garage. Is this not true? If not I may go ahead and have Ford install it.
