  1. I really admire the positive spin you put on everything Kirby but you you have to wonder why Ford are having some reoccuring quality issues. Some from the 2009 and 2010 model years. To name a few which I'm experiencing that have been mentioned on this forum many times; The moon-roof slow opening which I'm sure is some under powered, cheap Chinese motor they keep throwing in. The drivers door out of alignment. This should be an easy one The paint missing in some areas or even worse the air bubbles on some vehicles You would think they would fix these silly deficiencies on a monthly basis from complaints etc but no they carry on year after year. So you see why I'm not holding my breath for the 2012 to come out with the MFT / Sync fixed.......it just isn't going to happen until a complete new model around 2015
  2. I agree, the only way Ford can correct this mess is fix all the 2011's with updated software / hardware NOW. Of course theyre not going too are they? This is my last Ford, looking forward to lease end for this 2011 loaded Edge Limited AWD
  3. It also happened to me I wonder if there is some kind of after market pouch similar to some cell phone cases
  4. Abe, sorry to say this but welcome to the nightmare called Sync Ford did a great job marketing it but didnt put the same effort into making sure it was up and ready to put in their vehicles Otherwise a great auto, soured by the MFT system Looking forward to the end of my lease in 20 something months
  5. I'm satisfied knowing my lease ends in about 20 months :happy feet:
  6. Betting they have some cheap $10.00 Chinese electrical motor from the dollar store installed that only lasts a year or so. Every day theres a new concern with my 2011, $49,000 Limited AWD to a point where I'm begining to regret this purchase
  7. Hate to be the one to poop on the parade here guys but my 2011 Edge AWD Limited (close to $50,000.00) has become a bit of a letdown for me. Started out ok but the poor job Ford did with the MFT/Sync has really soured this vehicle. It really is too bad as everything else about the car impresses, Ford needs to fix this soon to make it a winner
  8. Hi, Will I have to arrange for the 2.8 update myself or will there be a recall from Ford to bring the vehicle to the dealer. I know some dealers are better than others with the techy stuff so I'm doing some legwork (It certainly wont be where I purchased it) Also I'm assuming this is under warranty...??? My issues are; 1) Requires to press hard on screen at times 2) Very slow response to heated seats, again pressing hard on screen Needs its first service soon (3500km) will that be a freebe? 2011 Limited, AWD, loaded except rear DVD Beaudeu Red c/w Sienna seats Love it most the time
  9. So, am I to expect a call from Ford suggesting I update to the 2.7 (I haven't yet) Or are they just planning on waiting until we get so pissed that we come to the dealer with complaints What about the folk who aren't using this forum, how would they know...???
  10. Hi, is this a dealer installed update or can I download myself? Thanks
  11. Sorry Joehio, neither rumor or fact just wishful thinking on my part
  12. I have a 2011 Edge Limited in Bordeau Red with Sienna two tone seating, 48K with all the options Love the colours, I made a great choice not having seen it before buying On the other hand MFT is terrible, this is truely a wonderful car but spolied with this very poorly designed feature My advice is wait for 2012 when they'll go back to switches, buttons or knobs
  13. The last few days i"ve been guilty of jumping all over Ford for the problems syncing my phone, even went to the dealer and had them check it out, maybe an update is whats needed they said. I was getting so frustrated with this shutting down and ready loosing Sync, believe me when alone in the vechicle and calls end abrutly the !@#$%^& starts In fairness I've discovered its not only Edge owners are having issues with bluetooth, check out the other forums. Lexus, BMW, Nissan are all suffering. To Turns out in my case Blackberry is the culprit and I only solved the problem by accident as I couldn't find a solution from anyone. So here is what I discovered for the Blackberry 9630; Main menu > Setup > Setup Bluetooth > highlight Sync > Options > at the services checks, unmark Headset, dial-up networking, audio scource and A/V remote control target All works fine now On an unrelated topic, driving in to work this morning doing about 40KPH in city traffic when a pick truck stopped suddenly. I reacted quickly but also the red light on my dash flashed, something I wasnt expecting :hyper:

  16. Wonder if we'll soon see after market units to revert back to the buttons? Good business venture for someone
  17. Hi Viper, I'm sure you can just turn the radio back on. I left my teenage daughter in the vehicle the other day and when I returned the music was playing ??? Mine has the remote start BTW
  18. Has anyone noticed that in the latest TV commercial the antenna is similar to the BMW "bump" not the 12" long stick we all seem to have? http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&source=video&cd=1&ved=0CEsQtwIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DvoI59XKbqmM&ei=mv6FTervMY-isAPIw6zpAQ&usg=AFQjCNHv05VUEB9MIjquEY141Y-bb1_AvQ
  19. I've had a 2011 Edge limited AWD with all the options except rear DVD for about two weeks so maybe not enough time to give you the most accurate assessment. However, all is well with nothing really to complain about so a couple of +/- points I can give are; Very poorly designed cargo cover, cheap and nasty maybe a better description Silly place to locate the 4-way emergency flashers MFT isn't as good as I was hoping, beginning to wish for the "switch system" on my Acadia Navigation I think is acceptable although there have been a couple of times I had to repeat myself Engine is more than adequate, zippy in fact The dealer looks like the worst issue I can see, in comparison to GM, Ford have work to do in this area Overall I'm satisfied with this vehicle and do find it a pleasure to drive, looks great on the road (one of the best) and of course is built in North America I did test drive examples from Honda (v.good) GM (ok) Chrysler (ok) and Toyota (v.disappointed) If it helps, so far i'm pleased with my choice :happy feet:
  20. I have a loaded 2011 Edge Limited that I picked up last week (love it btw) While coasting downhill it feels like the brake assist is working to stop a "runaway" Is that normal?
  21. Hi everyone, picked my Edge Limited from the dealer this week and still learning some of tricks it has. How do I know if i have the latest and greatest update? Thanks :happy feet:
