  1. My bad, I pulled the weight on a 4 cyl Altima and I was thinking the Edge was nearly 4400 lbs. At any rate, the Altima rated at 250hp weighing 3300 lbs vs the Edge EB rated at 240hp weighing maybe 4000lbs...still less effort on the Altima in turn, better mileage; and less wind resistance I'm sure... So, are you implying that you drove 75-85 mph with 4 people in your Altima over hills and mountains and still got 27 mpg?
  2. And it weighs a lot less than an Edge...about 1500 lbs less...
  3. The problem with the auto option is when you may have to back into a long driveway (like I do). I simply leave my mirror selector on the right and just move it down as I'm backing in my parking space against the curb at work.
  4. I remember reading somewhere it was also made to store a laptop
  5. Maybe it was supposed to read: The Edge will go exclusively to the turbocharged 4-cylinder instead of the V6 engine
  6. You left your lights on...oh wait...I bet you have the auto off option... I'm with CCL123, I think I would have used the space on the opposite end against the curb, less foot traffic; even though there is a cart corral next to which encourages proper parking of the carts.
  7. Nice, but that may be too 'chrome-ish' for you...
  8. Sorry, but I don't know what else to tell you. My only memory button issue is when I do restore it, the seat moves back to position (which happens to be as far back as it can go) but the mirrors have a random position they go to but it's not consistent. Sometimes one returns to normal but the other moves up too high. Sometimes they go back relatively close to where I had them set. Just a minor nuance I've learned to deal with.
  9. While I do like my DrawTite and the way the cross bar is hidden; I also like the look of this Curt as well; the way the cross bar is bent and transitions up behind the rear skirt looks nice and clean. Has anyone noticed the hideous design they had to use on some of the Toyotas (Rav4 and Sequoia) where the exhaust 'interrupts' the cross bar with a steel plate? I know its limited to the way its chassis is designed, but still...
  10. I have not had any issues backing into parking spaces with curbs or stops.
  11. Yes they do. On that same van coming from Orlando, it was a week later before it got a good washing. To this day the car wash guys scrub and scrub these spots on the hood where it ate the clear coat thinking there are still splats on it. The van has become the 'beater' car in the family.
  12. I don't know if the Curt is designed for this: http://www.etrailer.com/Locks,Hitch-Accessories/Draw-Tite/63201.html but I use this as my receiver lock on my DrawTite and there is absolutely no play in the receiver, or the cargo carrier when I set up to fill gas cans and/or propane tanks. Makes for a much quieter ride; the only rattle is the little bit of play in the tongue on the ball (which just sounds wrong on so many levels...)
  13. DrawTite; 2007 SEL+; I have no idea what the part number is. I bought it from a local hitch dealer/installer. It was the first they had ever ordered for an Edge. Had it installed about 2 months after I bought my Edge in April. An aftermarket wiring harness wasn't even available yet. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/gallery/image/452-somethings-missingjpg/
  14. And I'm afraid the mild winter will bring south Ga to north Ga.... We drove back from Orlando one September...love bugs galore...

    Savannah Trip

That's the one...makes you wonder where the 'seafood' came from...
  16. Does the light on the SET button illuminate when you press it? I know it sounds like a simple question, but it could be a detail to the answer to your issue. So it does change when you press the 1 or 2, just not to the setting you tried to set, correct?
  17. I'd like to go emblem-less but those empty ovals would look kind of funny. I do recall a few years back seeing a rear panel with no emblem (whatever that piece is called) that replaced the stock panel with the emblem. Would give the rear a nice clean logo free appearance.

    Savannah Trip

We've been there a few times; even have a picture of what looks like the same 'little boat'... I got a nice B&W shot of the fountain at Forsyth Park, but I'm sure most who visit do. My wife used to live on one of the 'islands' as you head toward Tybee; her elementary school in Savannah looks like a small prison now. Pearl's Saltwater Grille is a good place to eat. It's off La Roche Ave; feels like you're in the middle of no where on the marsh. Used to be called Pearl's Elegant Pelican many years ago. It's always fun to visit Savannah. The last time I went was for a conference in that very hotel you stayed in and I was by myself. The Edge got me from the Double Tree parking garage on Bay St to my (then) driveway in Woodstock in 3 hours and 40 minutes; plus I stopped at the BK drive thru in Metter to grab breakfast...
  19. What brand of tires were on the used '08 and '10 that you drove? If they were also Michelins, then I wouldn't expect much difference (same for changing from the Tour HP to the Tour; can't be much difference). My '07 came with Continental ContiContact (sp?). Wasn't a bad tire, just didn't last very long. I wouldn't describe the Edge as a harsh ride unless you're comparing it to passenger car. I've driven pickups and SUVs most of my driving life (and rode in them prior to that) so for me the Edge is not harsh. I'm currently running a set of Toyo Versado CUVs and they have a much cushier ride than the Toyo Open Country HTs I had after the Continentals. Personally, I like the Open Country HTs better. As I mentioned in your other post, I think the LTX MS is too much of a light truck tire for the Edge. The tire itself is probably heavier than and equivalent size passenger tire. I loved my LTX MS on my F150 and Explorer when I had them, but I wouldn't put it on the Edge. My personal opinion is that you have the wrong tire. Nothing against Michelin but I think you need to try another brand. If you don't like Toyo, try the Cooper CS4. I'm running that on the wife's Sienna and it's been the best tire we've had on that vehicle (that's a whole other story on trial and error on finding the right tire...95k miles and 6 sets later...needless to say the van was literally eating any tire that was put on it...) Good luck on finding the right tire...or a smoother vehicle...
  20. The Toyo Open Country H/T comes in the OEM size (235/65/17); that's what I would recommend.
  21. Based on that comment and my experience with my '07, your tail light bulb is blown. Is it both turn signals, or just the left or right? Whichever one is blinking faster, that's the one that blown.
  22. Let it expire and after a few weeks you'll have progressively lower rate offers. The last offer I got was $5/month but I've gotten so used to playing the iPod I couldn't see paying for the service.
  23. Here are a couple I was lucky enough to capture...
  24. Hopefully you're not going as dark as a truck I was behind yesterday. His tails were so dark, I would just barely see a sparkle through the tint; actually, I think they were covers. It was sunny and we were in stop and go traffic. His 3rd light was not tinted, so I could at least go by that light to see he was applying brakes.
