He said they would have to drop the tranny, so that is also why...I hope so too. It was flushed and flashed just over a year ago and that helped for a little while. I hope this fixes too! I have to admit, the '12 is nice but I can tell a big difference in the ride of it's 20s and my 18s. The bigger bumps that I hit, like the transition on a certain bridge, is much harsher with the 20s. It will get up and go, but I think mine has a more responsive launch. I can't wait to get mine back...looks like it will be Thursday though. They finished it up late today but want to put some miles on it to ensure they have fixed it and my schedule won't allow me to get it tomorrow when complete. This '12 also has the exhaust smell issue...mine doesn't...

Well, mine is sitting at the dealer waiting on parts to be fixed. It's a couple of sensors and said it would require draining the trans and they are going to replace the trans filter and gasket while they are in there. He suggested I not drive it as it could leave me stranded at any time again; and when I asked about the rate on a loaner, he said, with the money you are about to pay us on this repair, the least I can do is give you a loaner until it's fixed (which will be Tuesday), so the put me in a '12 Edge at no charge for 4 days...

Appears I spoke too soon...it's still there although not quite as bad...looks like it will be going back again soon.

I just had the EXACT same thing happen today. Very odd; in addition to the error message and same lights coming on, the speedometer went to 0, the O/D Off light went off and I was doing about 45-50 when it happened so after slowing down and trying to accelerate again, it felt like it was stuck in 4th or 5th gear. I pulled into a parking lot, shut it off and let it sit for a few seconds, started it back up and lights went out the and error message was gone, however, it didn't sound quite right and seemed to be stuck in high gear still. Walked into the Kroger for a few minutes trying to figure out what to do next and came back out to the car, cranked it back up and went move it to a shaded parking space, still with the tranny slipping in a high gear and then as I slowed for a car to pass to move across the lot, it downshifted and all seemed to be fine again. I'm thinking I need to get it checked out but all the dealer may tell me is they can't reproduce it. Can they see a history of error codes? I stopped by an Auto Zone to see if they could check the codes, but he said if the check engine light is not on, they can see anything.

The '13 Explorers are having the same issue. Took my wife's in and they did just what you described (2 parts and a sealant applied to the vent under the rear bumper) and it seems to have fixed it.

Need opinions on Michelin replacements for my 2008 Edge
carbonedge+ replied to hipo giddyup's topic in Wheels & Tires
Ditto here on the LTXs; were on a 97 Explorer, went through 2 sets before getting rid of it. Had the same tire on a 95 F150 as well. Definitely a good tire! This is why I did not consider it for my Edge but I have heard of others that put them on. I can't speak to how much difference there is in road noise between to the LTX or the Latitudes, but I don't recall my LTXs being loud. I've been running Toyos on my Edge since the OE Continentals wore out. I went with the Open Country HT, then the Versado CUV, and now back with the Open Country HT (wish I had stuck with them the second time...) -
Strange Bluetooth Behavior
carbonedge+ replied to PrinzII's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
My wife has experienced this same issue in her '13 Explorer on her iPhone. I gave her a cord, plugged into the USB slot, no more issue...I have found BT in general to be buggy; not just in her car...- 19 replies

Partially Debadged... and other things I did today.
carbonedge+ replied to wannabang's topic in Exterior & Body
A good wash probably cleaned that. I've used rubbing alcohol and/or Goo Gone sparingly in the past, then washed and waxed. No evidence that emblems were there. -
Rotors just turned....now pulsating

Ditto...or could be evenly over-torqued lug nuts...I believe the specs call for 100 ft/lb. -
I recently bought the Silblade premiums, and they work very well. If they continue to work this way for years, it's the best $40 I ever spent on wipers. Thanks for the referral Dingo!

That's a sweet item right there....although, I'm not sure our door panels are thin enough to hang it on...

Actually...Our '13 Explorer has a small shallow opening on the center console in addition to 2 cupholder that I had to ask the salesman about...he said 'most people will probably use it for change, but it's actually designed for the energy cans; redbull size...' My wife uses it for change, and hairbands, and barrettes...

Replacing stock subwoofer
carbonedge+ replied to revo1059's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Ooohh...I love PE...all my home audio speakers came from there; I have 2 separate systems of mostly Dayton audio drivers...My favorite is my sub table with a ported 12 that is sooo stealthy...or no wait, maybe it's my 2 15s for the low end of my home theater...I've spent way too much money there...even experimented with a couple micro systems using the ND65 and built a battery powered bluetooth connected amp to push them, very portable and decent sound for it's size...but I digress That will be an interesting build you have planned! -
I would hope it is a once and done repair. I have no idea as to the extent of labor or cost should it have to be repaired again (mine is FWD so it was not anything I had to deal with). Some others on here may have more to contribute in relation to that question. I've had no issues with the brake booster either. Enjoy it!

There were some PTU leaking issues for the first couple years (07 being THE very first year of the Edge). If you are not noticing any leaks, you are probably okay as I would guess the original or previous owner would have gotten that fixed. What color is your Edge? You could be in an elite group... My 07 is FWD and just passed 115k miles.

Thanks; I'll have to join that forum and read up on it!

That doesn't sound very fun; hope in the end you get everything worked out...and thanks for the info; hopefully it's not a 2013 model issue.

What kind of water leak? Is it BAMR related? We made the purchase and so far all is well. Nothing buggy about SYNC yet either (knock on wood).

Windshield Washer fluid not coming out
carbonedge+ replied to Laurie Budziszewski Weber's topic in 2007 Edge & MKX
I just figured out why mine quit spraying...broken under the hood where the hose attaches to the nozzles. One had already broken and the other broke quite easily while trying to take a closer look. -
We pulled the trigger on a 13 Explorer last week; my dad was up yesterday and commented how if felt as roomy up front as his F250.

I was going to say...I know you have been on I-285...
