  3. 'I'm glad Ford decided NOT to offer 3-row seating in the Edge. If it did, ALL passengers would get less legroom AND it'd be longer and heavier.' I agree. The Edge is the perfect size and being 6'4", it's the only vehicle where an adult can sit behnd me comfortably without me moving my seat up. Had an '05 Honda Pilot prior to the Edge. It's a little longer than the Edge, but because of the 3rd row seat, the middle row had to compromise. There was no more second row leg room in the Pilot than there was in my '97 Explorer (the ride prior to the Pilot).
  4. I had a Draw-Tite installed on mine. They did just as you described. I paid $210 for the hitch and labor. Only problem was there was no aftermarket wiring available at the time. About 2 weeks later, Draw-tite had one available and I paid another $97 for the harness and installation. They had to run a wire to the battery as there is no adapter to plug into the factory rear lighting harness yet. The shop that did my install had done some hitches for a local dealer as well. I didn't want the factory hitch as I already had the 2" accessories including a basket. I don't tow much anyway so the other factory added extras didn't appeal even though they would have been nice to have.

  7. Yes. The cup holder inserts are black rubber with a notch for easy removal.
  8. Mine were in a bag in the glove box along with some foam pieces to go in the bottom of the door pulls.
  9. The Edge (or MKX) would be a wise choice for a distinguished gentleman such as yourself. BTW, my dad is also 63...lol...
  10. Note to self: no more references to "old man" How about "wise, distinguished gentleman"
  11. The spare tire cover is part of the cargo management "system." I have an Edge and it looks just like the pics 07 MKX posted; short of the car care products and the rubber floor mat. I have my receiver hitch and straps, an umbrella, a blanket, and such. Very handy; and something for me to remember, don't load up the back and then go looking for the trailer ball, it was a "duh" moment indeed.

  13. quote name='Good_Hands' date='Aug 24 2007, 09:41 AM' post='6867'] Debadged the back? Tell me more!!! Take pictures please!!!! How did it work "prying" them off? It's a little dirty but here it is. [ They came off pretty easy. They're on with a double sided foam tape. I was able to gently twist them back and forth and worked the letter loose. Then just scraped the remaining tape off with my thumbnail mostly then used some goo gone to clean up the remaining residue. Let the back of your ride sit in the sun right now and they will probably peel right off after about an hour. I'm sure you're seeing the triple digit heat in Memphis as we are here in the Atlanta area!
  14. Thanks, I'll have to give it a try sometime.
  15. I've got the Carbon as well (in case you couldn't tell from my name...) I love this color! Started out by looking for the Pewter, but then the dealer showed me the carbon with the black leather and I was sold. Also started out looking for an SE and ended up with an SEL+ (I guess they saw me coming). I went a step further on the dealer tag; I removed the Edge and SEL lettering as well. It really cleans up the rear and if I ever get to wax it, the lettering's not in the way. Had an old man (no offense to anyone) come up to me in the parking lot asking what kind of car it was; he was impressed.
  16. Ahh, retirement, one can dream can't he??? With 2 girls (ages 5 and 1) I barely have time to wash it, much less polish it. Those are some high end products you linked to. Maybe one day I can afford those, so I guess in the meantime, I'll stick to the cheap stuff (RainX and/or Meguiars products if I feel like splurging). Thanks for the info. As for the twin I beam suspension, I had that on my 95 F150 from years ago and one thing I can say after 110,000+ miles; never needed an alignment and I was/am pretty aggressive in the driving style department. Hope the Edge can handle the abuse the 150 and my previous ride (97 Explorer 146,000+ miles) endured!
  17. Getting a little off topic here now, but, oh well... Two things: First, Good_Hands and 07 MKX: you guys are relentless; I love it! You really keep this forum entertaining as well as educational. Second, 07 MKX: how do the Turtle Wax Ice products work? The ads for them sound great, but I have never tried them or run across anyone who has used them. Yeah, yeah, I was looking in your trunk...
