Here's another alternative: Are you a member of a credit union? There are 3 in Pleasanton (1st United Services; SafeAmerica CU; and Sterlent CU) that you are probably eligible to join if you are not already a member. The added benefit is they generally have an auto buying service that most like gets the X plan pricing. You tell the CU contact what you are looking for specifically, they search all the dealer inventories to find the exact match or something close. If you have to order it to get exactly what you want, they can handle that too. The best thing is, you don't even have to haggle with the dealership salesman. Plus, you can finance it with the CU and generally get a better rate than the dealer or a bank. I work for a CU and used our auto buying service to find my Edge. They check dealer inventories in Ga and Fla. I started out looking for an SE, but ended up with and SEL+ at a local dealer. There were several reasons for going to the SEL+, but mostly becasue the SEs and SELs didn't have the options I was looking for. I never stepped foot on a dealers lot except for earlier that week to test drive one and determined I had to have one! The dealer that had teh one I wanted brought the Edge to me to check it out. I liked, they took it back, detailed it out and brought it back to me. I don't think they did that just because I work for the CU as I believe they treat all members that way. It could be different in your area, Cali usually is... Here are the home pages for those CUs if you're interested: https://www.1stuscu.org http://www.safeamerica.com http://www.sterlentcu.org Here's a way to find other CUs in your area: http://www.creditunion.coop/cu_locator/quickfind.html Anyway, just a thought that I figured I would share with you. Good luck, which ever route you choose. -
No problem, I knew I had seen it too and wouldn't give up until I found the thread. Just how deep in the south are ya?

This is where you saw it...not Watertown, but just as much if not more tho.

Was Someone In Atlanta Looking For An AWD Edge?
carbonedge+ replied to Former Ford ZM's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
ATL traffic definitely has its extremes, just not much in between. Rush hour is a major bummer. I'm glad I don't work downtown; I would go nuts. -
18" painted or chrome clad??? I know there is a lot of hate mail out there on the chrome clads, and I'm not a big fan of them myself, but I have them on my Edge (standard with the SEL+) and I have grown to like them. A couple years ago I was looking at the new Explorers when they recently started installing the chrome clads. Got pinned by a salesman even though I was just looking, so asked about those. I know you'll get a different answer from every salesman, but he stated they were lighter than the traditional wheel and would make it easier for a woman to change a tire. Now, I don't know about anyone else out there, but if my wife had a flat, the last thing she would do is change it herself, the first being calling me to change it! And I would do so gladly, of course. Otherwise, just a personal preference on the looks. Get whatever appeals best to you.

Was Someone In Atlanta Looking For An AWD Edge?
carbonedge+ replied to Former Ford ZM's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
Just came home from the ATL airport tonight and couldn't help hitting 100 mph. If you're not doing 80+ on either 75/85/285/20/400, you are giong too slow...unless of course you see the blue lights behind ya... -

Apparently there is a seal between the spoiler and the back glass on the bottom side of the spoiler. This 'gasket' (looks kind of like a thin foam) has come out is a couple places on my Edge and is hanging just below the spoiler. Would it hurt anything to just remove what has come loose, or should I take this to the dealer to have it fixed?

I have the black leather interior and I noticed (just recently and I've had the Edge since May) that the leather panel at the front of the front seats are different. The driver's seat is smooth (very little texture) just like the rest of the seat. However, the passenger seat of the same panel has more texture to it (seems a little stiffer and has a deeper grain in the leather). Has anyone else noticed any differences in the texture of the leather throughout their Edge?

REAL fuel-mileage numbers? Not WAGd by the computer?
carbonedge+ replied to jeffreybehr's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
I've been using BP/Amoco for years and was pleasantly surprised to actually see the BP icon inside the fuel door of my Edge. -
delsol25, if it just recently started, you may want to check with the dealer. Mine has been doing it since I got it (4 months now) and sounds like a normal operational issue.
-
Confirmed: Carbon - best; second - all others...
-
Well, dang, that doesn't make sense now that some replies are missing...what I was saying was: So, that confirms this is normal and it's just something you have to deal with. Thanks.
-
Ainsi, cela confirme ceci est normal et il est juste quelque chose que vous devez traiter. Merci.

I have experienced the same signal drop. There are certain areas where I know it's about to lose the signal for a second or two before it picks up again. It's usually when I go under trees. Can anyone else confirm that this is normal or related to hardware? I wouldn't think it would be hardware related, but you never know.

What made you choose your Edge?
carbonedge+ replied to Edgy Girl's topic in Competing Crossovers & Vehicles
Careful with the word "old"...they prefer "wise" and "distguinished"... On topic: I too was a truck guy, then had kids, been in SUVs since. I have a small trailer, so I can use it as needed since I don't have a truck bed. The Edge was the perfect size and had the most interior legroom for the back seat.
