You must have the seat back sitting straight up. I'm also 6'4" and haven't noticed. I lean the seat back a bit which is probably why.

I noticed the same going down a mountain (I-24 north of Chattanooga). I was coasting downhill and put it in neutral and also noticed the RPMs dropped very little, if any.

I know this doesn't help tremendously, but...from the manual (2007): Do not splice into the vehicle lamp wiring for trailer lamps. Your vehicle uses an advanced electronic module to control and monitor your vehicle lamps. Splicing into the wiring or attaching wiring to the vehicle bulb. may DISABLE the rear vehicle lamps or cause them not to function properly. Your lamp outage feature may also be disabled or provide incorrect information. See your authorized dealer or trailer rental agency for proper instructions and equipment for hooking up trailer lamps. I know for mine (aftermarket) they ran at least one wire to the front to the battery for power. When I inquired with the dealer about it, they too said they did not have a harness at that time for the Edge (July 2007) and they would have to manually wire it.

Losing Memory Seat settings-HELP!
carbonedge+ replied to jdedl's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
According to the manual... Memory seat and mirrors (if equipped) This system allows automaticpositioning of the driver seat and outside rearview mirrors, to two programmable positions. The memory seat control is located on the driver door. • To program position one, move the driver seat and exterior mirrors to the desired positions using the associated controls. Press the SET control. The SET control light will briefly illuminate. While the light is illuminated, press control 1. • To program position two, repeat the previous procedure using control 2. A position can only be recalled when the transmission gearshift is in Park (automatic transmission). A memory seat position may be programmed at any time. The memory seat positions are also recalled when you press your remote entry transmitter UNLOCK control and the transmitter is programmed to a memory seat position or when you enter a valid customer code 1 or 2 on the keypad. To program the memory seat to remote entry transmitter, refer to Remote entry system in the Locks and Security chapter.. Note: The seat will not travel to its final position if the key is not in the ignition and the easy entry feature is enabled. Easy-entry/easy-exit feature (if equipped) This feature automatically moves the driver’s seat rearword 2 inches (5 cm) when: • the transmission is in N (Neutral) or P (Park) • the key is removed from the ignition cylinder The seat will move forward (to the original position) when: • the transmission is in N (Neutral) or P (Park) • the key is placed in the ignition cylinder Just a note from Captain Obvious, if the seat is already all the way back, the easy entry/exit feature can't help. The only issue I've had with the memory settings is sometimes the driver's mirror is not returned to the position when it was set. -
yep, I guess I got so used to seeing some lengthy posts lately... Staff (or Robert): feel free to delete this rambling post used to determine my own ignorance. Thanks, J

I just noticed how my posts have several blank lines after my signature, yet everyone else's does not. I checked the signature and there are no blank lines after the single line. Is it the way it displays my posts or does everyone see several spaces after my signature? Somewhat forumly challenged...J

SEL FULLY loaded with all options versus Limted
carbonedge+ replied to Lex Talionis's topic in 2008 Edge & MKX
Ah, I see. I guess that will just add to its collectibilty one day, especially since they also discontinued the carbon metallic... :yup: Plus, I have the dreaded chrome clads...it's becoming more of a one of kind everyday... -
SEL FULLY loaded with all options versus Limted
carbonedge+ replied to Lex Talionis's topic in 2008 Edge & MKX
They must have changed something for the '08s as my '07 SEL+ has both the premium and seating flexibility package. -
After Market hitch versus their pricy tow package

There have been a few topics related to this... http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=1609 http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=1698 http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=1054 http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=823 -

I keep a small one resting on the steering column in front of the gauges. It's more interesting than what's going on ahead of me... Ya'll know I'm just kidding, right?

You didn't say 'that', you said: hehe... I was merely elaborating upon your most excellent point You smell what I smell?

EDGE GMT, you need to do what I did...go to Wal-Mart and get the portables that strap to the headrest. I paid less than $200 for a pair (one player, 2 separate screens so they have to watch the same dvd). If you only need them occasionally, why spend that much money?!? At that rate, even the cheap ones should last you a few years.

What Color (Colour) is your Ford Edge or MKX?
carbonedge+ replied to Edge Guide's topic in Exterior & Body
Black leather here and live just north of Atlanta. Got pretty warm this past summer (triple digits at times) and I can say the seats weren't that bad. This is my first experience with black leather and it wasn't as bad as I thought. The A/C works pretty well (for me anyway as I know others here have complained) and cooled the interior pretty quickly. I've got the BAMR too but keep the shade closed, so I think that helps as well. Enjoy! -
It seems a sense of humor and this forum do not play well lately... This is a very strange situation indeed and I would think the tire shop that filled them with the nitrogen would help you get to the bottom of the issue and help you determine if it is a tire manufacturing issue. You might try going back to good ole regular air and see if it does the same.

Thanks for the info (and the website; I haven't seen that one before).

I'm sure it was, but that was the least of my worries at the time. Plus, with a right foot as heavy as mine, maximizing mpg is not possible. You have to pay to play, but all things considered, I'm getting 17-18 around town (defined as a 20 minute commute to work averaging probably around 35-40 mph most of the way with about 15 traffic light intersections with some stop and go during the last 5 lights). I typically drive 0 to the speed limit (+5 to 10 mph) not as quickly as it will go, but close, or as fast as the traffic ahead of me. The Edge is too fun to drive!
